Quietly I opened the door and saw everyone writing away at their desks, like busy little
Buzzes. Great, is today the big test? I thought. I tiptoed to my seat while Mrs. Stuffingpants the Blumaroo wrote
something on the chalkboard. Before I knew it, I had tripped on my long, blue tail and fell flat on my face, knocking over
a chair, a desk, a stack of books, and a few of my fellow students. I got up and looked at Mrs. Stuffingpants nervously.
All the other Neopets were laughing and giggling over my fall. "Late again, Mr. Llewser?" Mrs. Stuffingpants asked, "What
is your excuse this time? Your Puppyblew ate your alarm clock? You ran into the Snowager on the way to school and he
blasted you with ice? What's a matter, Llewser... Aisha got your tongue? Please do tell us why you are late and have missed
your exam and have disrupted the class."
"Well, Mrs. Stuffingpants, I... erm... I... you see, the thing is..." I spat out, trying to think of an excuse I hadn't
used yet...

"Scorchios!" I exclaimed nervously. "Evil Scorchios! Millions of 'em! They flew at me, picked me up, and brought me all
the way over to the..."
The expression on Mrs. Stuffingpants's face told me she wasn't buying this. "Enough of this nonsense!" replied the old
Blumaroo. "Go to the back of the room, and get started on your exam. I'll see you in detention after school, Mr. Llewser."
I promptly heeded her order, knowing there was no way she would believe what REALLY happened...

...Of course I couldn't tell anyone about it. I mean, I was a little confused about it myself.
"Now what's the matter Mr. Llewser?" Mrs. Stuffingpants glared at me, "Got Blurred Vision again? You should not have
any excuses to not do the test, and you have just extended your detention to two hours."
I had barely heard what Mrs. Stuffingpants was blabbing on about, all I could think about was that funny map I got
that very morning...

...I sat down with my test and picked up my pencil. I wrote my name and then started to read the question.
If the Stock Market is at 43 points and drops 27 points. Where is the Stock Market at?
As I thought about the question, my pencil broke. I frowned at it and stood up to walk to the pencil sharpener.
"What NOW, Mr. Llewser?" cried Mrs. Stuffingpants.
"I... erm... have to sharpen my pencil," I muttered, blushing with this unwanted attention.
Her eyes flamed and her chubby cheeks turned down to a frown. "Mr. Llewser, I have been patient, but I can't put up
with you any more! Hand me your test sheet and go to the Principal's office. NOW!"
I stared at her in shock for a few seconds. She had been mad before, but never enough to send me to the Principal's
office.
I walked up to her desk in a stupor, my classmates snickering. I set the test on her desk and walked to the Principal's
office. I sat down in a hard wooden chair and stared at the brightly coloured sign in front of him that said, "Nine
Things That Make a Good Neopet". Principal Balldee came out and I immediately started to explain what had happened
earlier that day and how I stumbled upon the map:
"It had been a nice day," I explained to him...
...and I was walking from school. I woke up late as usual and had to run to the school and when I turned the corner - BAM!
I ran smack into a suspicious looking Mynci. She was very beautiful and was holding an old looking sheet of paper in her hands.
She had fallen down. I held out my hand to help her out.
"Sorry," I panted.
"It's all right," she smiled. I looked down at her fallen papers. One of them had ripped in half.
"Oh, I am SO sorry," I said.
"It's okay, I was going to throw it away anyway," she muttered.
An odd glazed look came over her eyes. A weird smile crept across her face. "But..." she whispered in a misty voice. "You
can have it..." She thrust the two pieces of paper in my hands and rushed off in the opposite direction. I had stared after
her. I looked down at the paper and my eyes widened. "The lost Neopian continent, Medieval City?!" I cried out...

...I tried to run after her, but she was too fast for me. Funny, I thought, it seemed as if she was flying!
Shaking my head, I thought I was imagining things. A strong gust of wind blew the paper out of my hands.
I ran after it, and after what seemed like years, I managed to catch hold of it. I noticed under the
heading in big, bold letters:
Aurther Llewser - Chosen to uncover lost Medieval City! Aurther to report on 13 March or lose his head.
"What?!? Me! Today?! When? Where? What's going on?" I cried...

...But no sooner had I said this when a blinding flash of light shot out of the map and engulfed me,
and I must have blacked out. When I came to, I was surrounded by a pack of snarling Lupes all
clad in armor and brandishing swords.
"Demon!" they snarled. "Thou art an evil blue demon sent from the dark world to destroy us all!"
I stared at them dumbly, wondering where I was, and what I had gotten myself into now...

..."Holding thy tongue will only make your situation worse, Dark One. Cometh with us."
So I followed them, confused at how they could speak with such cheesy accents. They led me to a
dark dungeon and chained me to a wall.
"Thou cannot escape these chains by your dark arts, foul demon."
They spat on me for good measure and clanked off, leaving me in the dark with only a Buzz for company.
"Hey!" the ancient Neopet exclaimed. "I may be a Buzz but I might be able to help!!" She fished around
in her tattered robes and brought out a small key attached to a length of long, dirty string.
"How...how..."
"You'd be surprised at what those Lupe guards leave lying around. Now once you get out, turn right, carry
straight on and DON'T TOUCH A THING. Got it?"
I nodded and took the key, turning it in the rusty lock. It swung open and turning right,
I walked straight into...

...a beautiful Mynci that looked almost like the one I saw earlier. Wait, it was the Mynci. "I thought
curiosity would get the better of thee." She said with an odd smile. "Follow me." She motioned for me
to follow, and I did.
She led me up some stairs and down a hall lined with old paintings, of what looked like kings. She stopped
at the door. "Thee must remember that thou art in medieval times. Thee must speak like me." She opened the
door, and I gasped. It was the most stunning thing I'd ever seen: a banquet hall lined with food,
and a ceiling adorned with a beautiful painting. The walls looked like they were painted with solid
gold, while the floor was marble and specked with even more gold.
The Mynci approached a regal looking Aisha at the end of the room. "Your majesty," she said with a bow, "I
hath brought the Aurther Llewser, like thee said."
"Thank you Majesta, you may leave," The queen said with a wave of her hand, "come here, young Aurther."
She said, motioning to me. When I stepped in front of her and bowed, she laughed. "Why thank you, but right
now our world, Medieval City, is in jeopardy. Thee hath come to help."
"What is the matter, your majesty?" I asked, copying everyone else's fake accents.
"Well, you see," she began...

"...The Darkness Faerie is plotting against us. She's sending hordes of Scorchios with Magnus ye Torch
as the leader to attack us. You're our only hope. Please help us. If you do, thy will be rewarded greatly."
I tried to understand her the best that I could.
"Uh, I would be greatly honored," I stuttered, trying to speak the same language.
"Thank you," she smiled. "I'm sure thy will lead us to victory in this time of need. Majesta!" The Aisha
clapped her hands. Majesta appeared immediately. "Take this brave Blumaroo and show him where our fighters
are."
"Very well, your majesty," the Mynci said as she bowed.
"Our team is drilling right now," said Majesta. "They're right over h--" she stopped in midsentence.
"What's wrong?" I asked nervously. But she needn't show me. I looked up in the sky, and millions of
Scorchios were buzzing above our heads. At the head of the line was the Darkness Faerie and Magnus the
Torch. The Darkness Faerie laughed evilly and swooped down...

...right in front of me. I nearly fainted at the sight. The Aisha glowered. "What does thy want now,
Darkness Faerie?" She asked, gritting her teeth. The Faerie laughed.
"Oh dear, you don't know what we want, DO you?" The Darkness Faerie asked, amusement filling her eyes.
"All this time, we've been attacking and you, or should I say THEE like you do in your stupid English,
don't know why!!" She began to cackle evilly.
The Aisha glared. "What does thou want?" she asked again.
The Faerie shook her head. "Are you sure you want to know?" The Aisha nodded. The Faerie smiled. "Well,
then, we want your kingdom!! All of it!!" She started to cackle again, unable to control herself.
I watched, horrified. "How am I supposed to help?" I asked silently. Then, it hit me. I once heard that
Scorchios were distracted by loud noises. It was worth a try.
I crept near to some knights' armor I had seen passing through the hallway. "Please let this work" I prayed.
Suddenly, I banged them together, creating a huge vibration of noise. The Scorchios looked up, surprised
by the sudden noise. And then, they all started to get out of control. They started flying around,
swooping here and there, one having the Faerie on her.
"HEY!!!" she cried. But it was too late, the Scorchio she was on caused her to fall off, somewhere far
from here.
Majesta smiled. "You did a great job." She paused. "But now, you must go back to where you belong." And,
with a gesture of her hand, I disappeared.
The next morning, I woke up. "Could that have been just a dream" I asked, yawning. But then I noticed
the pile of gold by my bed.
The End
