We start a story and you have to write the next few paragraphs. We will select the best submissions every day and put it on the site, and then you have to write the next one, all the way until the story finishes. Got it? Well, submit your paragraphs below!

Story Twenty Eight - Ended June 8th

Her owner had done it again! He had forgot to feed her because he was a Cheat! Freak (20 or more games a day). Tufssen despised Cheat! and never hesitated to tell her owner about it. But he never listened--he was addicted like mad! In many cases, her owner would leave Tufssen with little or no food and make her sleep outside. Until that day when she had just about enough.... ...off the wall. There, right behind it, she found a secret tunnel! "Ah-HA!" she yelled. "Now I can sneak into the house at night!" Just as always, she was put out at night, and this time not even a crumb was given (because of the whole poster incident), but she didn't protest. As soon as the door to her owner's NeoHome closed, she ran to the side of the house. When the light in his room went on, she knew he wouldn't be paying attention to anything else, so she climbed into the tunnel and started crawling. Suddenly, she came to a fork. Which way? she thought. She turned left. As she went deeper into the tunnel, it grew hotter and the walls were getting brighter. All of a sudden, she fell through a hole and landed in... ...a room with a table, small lamp on the ceiling, and four chairs around the table. Tufssen looked around, and then heard a door in the secret room open. Tufssen looked around and spotted a cabinet. She leapt inside, and watched as a large red Jetsam walked into the room, followed by a Moehog in a tuxedo, then a very well dressed Acara, and after that Tufssen's owner trudged in and sat down at a chair while all the other pets took their seats. The Jetsam took some cards out of his pocket--they were going to play an illegal game of Cheat! "My meddling pet, Tufssen, found the secret passage," Tufssen's owner said. Tufssen gulped. The all began talking and playing Cheat!, and Tufssen's owner was losing horribly. Then, Tufssen suddenly felt like she was going to sneeze... Author :arokh128

...she covered her mouth with her hands and tried to be as quiet as she could. She couldn't hold it in any longer! "AAAACHOOOOOOOOOO!" Tufssen sneezed very loudly and Spectre turned to look at the cabinet. "Did you hear something?" he demanded. "No, Spectre, It was probably rats or something, considering how nasty and dirty you're NeoHome is. Our palace is the cleanest, most beautiful place and--" Fernypoo was cut off. "We KNOW how wonderful and great your stupid house is! Now all I'm worried about," interrupted the Moehog, "is if there is something - or even worse someone - in that cabinet who could report us to the police guild!! Hrobi is the new sheriff in Neopia Central, you know. If someone is in there, they could get us taken to Neojail!" "You have a point, Agent, but what could be in there that could report us while they are here??" said Tufssen's owner. "I don't know who or what it is," the one called Spectre replied, "but I'm about to find out!" The Jetsam stood up, knocking his chair over, and walked swiftly to the cabinet. ...somebody knocked on the door. "That would be our pizza," said Chuffer Bob "Quick hide the game!" whispered Tufssen's owner. "I am going to get the door," said the Moehog. He opened the door and outside stood a Neopian pizza delivery Lenny. "Um, somebody order a large split pizza?" "Yes, um, we did," said Spectre, trying to hide the game. "That'll be 33 Neopoints, please." Quickly, Tufssen's owner put his hand in his pocket and counted what he had left because most of his money was spent on Cheat! "23, 25, 26..." He counted. "Here. 31." "Sorry man, but I need 33, plus tip." "Here," said Frenypoo, handing over 8 Neopoints. The pizza Lenny looked over to the coffee table. "Hey that looks like Cheat! Heyyy, you look like those people from the ga--" suddenly the Moehog got his hooves and put them over the Lenny's mouth. "Wanna say it any louder, bird brain??" he said in a mean and horrible voice. "No... no... no... no, I didn't see a thing... have your... your pizza for... for... for free" and with that the pizza Lenny ran off screaming, dropping the Neopoints. Meanwhile, in the cabinet, Tufssen caught a huge whiff of the delicious smelling pizza. She was so hungry that when she saw a little Spyder crawling she... Author :flamegirl1616

...pounced on it. Picking it up, see realised she didn't really want to eat a Spyder. The Spyder looked at her. "Now what is a lovely pet like yourself doing here, in my cupboard?" it asked. "Shhhh, be quiet, I'm hiding from the cheat! players in there," Tufssen whispered, "Do you know how I could get out of here?" The Spyder looked at Tufssen, "Mmmmmm," it said, "Well you could use the secret tunnel to go down to the Spyder hole," it said, and opened up another secret tunnel. "Well," Tufssen said, "This house must be full of secret tunnels, is that right?" The Spyder paused for a minute. "Hmmmm, yes, I do believe this house is filled with secret tunnels." Minutes later, Tufssen was already shooting done the tunnel with the little Spyder leading the way. When she got out she found herself in a huge underground room that was crawling with hundreds of Spyders. A big, fat Spyder came up to her and said, "What on earth is this thing doing here! Tommy, what did you do now?" The Spyder she had met in the cupboard said, "She was hiding from four Cheat! players. She needs some food and a place to sleep for the night." The big Spyder shook her head. "Very well," she said, "You my stay here for the night... our cook will prepare a meal for you. Tommy, go get a bed ready for her." Tommy scampered off. The food was surprisingly good, even though it was a bowl full of steamed bugs. Her "bed" was a hammock that was like a non-sticky Spyder web. When she woke up the next morning though, she knew, owner or no owner, she had to leave and tell the Chia police... Author :dragonlover128

...It was a hard choice to make, for although she had always detested Cheat! and the way her owner treated her, it would be hard on her fragile heart. She consulted Tommy for his advice, and Tommy replied, "Tufssen, you must decide for yourself what is right and what is wrong. Trust what your heart tells you." Tufssen thought about it for quite some time before coming to a decision; she would inform the Chia police. She bade good-bye to Tommy and the other Spyders and sneaked out to the bright sunshine. Just when she was about to head for the police station, she heard her owner call out in what seemed to be an angry voice," Tufssen, where are you? You better come out from wherever you are this minute for if you don't, I will find YOU!" She was trapped between surrendering herself to her owner or going to the police, for she knew her owner would not let her go unless he was sure she was safely at home and not spying through the secret passage. With a heavy heart, she went to meet her owner. The moment he came into sight, Tufssen knew that she had made a terrible mistake. ..."I should have gone straight to the police!" mourned Tufssen silently, as her owner picked her up and shook her. "You weren't outside last night! I checked!" cried her owner. Tufssen thought quickly. "You always tell me not to move, even a thousandth of a millemeter because then you would wake and you need a full night's sleep or your eyes will turn purple! If you were up, why aren't your eyes purple?" she said. There was an awkward two minutes after that. Then, the owner replied shakily, "Go have a crumb or two! There are some pizza crust left." He retired to his room in deep thought. Tufssen ate a whole slice of bread, because her owner was nowhere in sight, then, feeling wonderful, she went up to her room. Well, the room she slept in two times a year. Digging in her chest of drawers, she found a yellow Flotsam costume. Tufssen tucked the costume under her arm, and crept out the back door. Hiding behind a thick bush, Tufssen quickly changed into her costume. Then she trotted over to the other side of the garden, behind a row of neatly trimmed hedges. Scurrying along behind the bushes, she heard a familiar sound. Tufssen panicked. It was her owner's quick steps going toward the garage! And she knew what that meant! That he was going to trim the hedges. Seeing her only choice now, she ran to an opening in the wire, which separated Mary Lou, their neighbour's house, and Tufssen's house. Bent low so as not scratch herself, she crawled through, only to find Mary Lou and her daughter Louisa trimming THEIR hedges. "Ma! Look! Isn't that our neighbour's Neopet?" cried out Louisa suddenly. ...said, "No, I don't think so. Our neighbour's Neopet is a Kyrii, and this is a Flotsam. Besides, no Neopet would be foolhardy enough to run away. The Chia police would catch them." "Mommy, but aren't Flotsams supposed to be in water?" "You're right!" Mary Lou yelled as she looked back, but Tufssen was long gone. Tufssen breathed a sigh of relief. Making herself inconspicuous as she could, she crept along the hedge. Suddenly, she stopped. What if her owner had told the police about her? She had to get to the police station! If her owner had gotten there ahead of her, they would think she had just made her story up. Flattening her Flotsam stomach, she made a dash across Neopia. Just as she crossed a dangerous street, she felt asphalt rubbing on her soft fur. The costume had worn through! It was meant for swimming in, not for sliding across rough ground. Somehow pulling it together, Tufssen slowed her pace. But by the time she reached the station, she saw her owner at the desk of Missing Neopets. The officer and her owner turned to her and... ...The Chia officer said, "What are you doing here, little Flotsam? Why are you out of water?" Oblivious to sputterings from Tufssen's master, the officer led Tufssen away to another room. "What are you doing here, little Flotsam?" repeated the officer. Tufssen replied, "My master has been playing illegal games of Cheat! That's why I ran away from home to come here. " The Chia police officer said, "You know, I would have had to throw you in the pound for running away from home, but you have given us valuable information. What's your name, little Flotsam?" Tufssen told him, "Well, first, I'm not a Flotsam." She took off the costume. "My name is Tufssen." "Where is your master?" asked the Chia. "Right outside this door!" The police officer arrested Tufssen's master, and with her evidence, arrested the other people involved in the illegal game. As part of the witness protection program, Tufssen was given a new identity and painted a different colour by means of a Magic Paintbrush. She was also given a new owner that treated her like... ...no Neopet or owner could ever imagine. He was rotten. All he did all day was loiter around the gates of Faerieland and Tyrannia, waiting for 45 minutes so he could go in and play the Wheel of Excitement or Wheel of Mediocrity one more time. Of course, he didn't always win. Tufssen got very annoyed that she kept getting D'achoo whenever he spun the wheel. Oh, how she despised all games in Neopia! Everywhere she turned, she was afraid that some evil owner would pounce out of the shadows and torture her. She lived in fear, just like they had when the cruel Tyrannian Emperor had taken over Neopia. She knew that she would never be happy. She knew that the Faeries had cursed her to be miserable all through her horrid life. She cursed those Faeries out loud. And she cursed all her mean owners in the same breath. And most of all, she cursed the addictive games that had overpowered them. She just wanted to cease all injustice that could ever, ever be ridden to her again. So that night, when her owner fiendishly threw her outside their falling-down NeoHome, she crept off. Yes, off to the highest cliff that had graced the face of Maraqua. She took a deep breath and looked down. It's pretty high up here, she thought, and so far down... And with that, Tuffssen took a step closer and jumped into the night sky, spreading her wings. She flew all over Neopia and was never seen again.
