Every week we will be starting a new Story Telling competition - with great prizes! The current prize is 2000 NP, plus a rare item!!! This is how it works...

We start a story and you have to write the next few paragraphs. We will select the best submissions every day and put it on the site, and then you have to write the next one, all the way until the story finishes. Got it? Well, submit your paragraphs below!

Story Four - Ended December 15th

Walking down the sleet packed road, Slipifer the Zafara looked around with her bright round eyes. She had just exchanged all of her Neggs for a few Sneggs at the Neggery and was smiling brightly. Her owner was going to be so proud of her. Her claws clicked lightly on the ice as she scurried home to show her owner her new goods. ...She turned around and saw her best friend, Jewli the Gelert. "Hey Jewli!" she yelled. "You scared me." "Hi Slipifer. Sorry. It's just that I have these new snow shoes on and they don't make any noise when you walk," Jewli called back. Slipifer pulled out her Sneggs. "Check 'em out!" she grinned. "Wow! With these, you'll be a shoe-in to win at our Battledome Tournament today!" Jewli declared. "I know!" cried Slipifer happily. "But don't get addicted. Those have terrible side-effects." "I will just eat a few then I'll stop. I just have to beat Shawnia," said Slipifer. Shawnia was a level 22 Nimmo who always won every single tournament. Slipifer was only at level 15. "Remember what I said. Well, I have to go get ready and do some push-ups for the tournament. It is in a few hours you know, and I need to get ripped, so see ya there!" And with that, Jewli left. ...A burst of pain went through her stomach. "Ouch..." she muttered as she held her stomach, "I shouldn't have eaten so many, now I'm bloated." She cried out in pain. Trent, her owner, ran outside to see what was wrong. Slipifer tried to tell him that her stomach hurt, but the pain was too much. Trent glanced at the last half-eaten Snegg then picked her up carefully, Slipifer whimpered. "Looks like you got too excited there. Didn't I tell you never to over eat?" He smiled, "Now, let's get you checked out at the Neopian hospital." Yikes! The Neopian hospital?! Slipifer squirmed despite her pain, she had heard bad stories about the hospital by a few pets who had been there and survived to tell about it. "Don't worry!" Trent tried to get a better grip on her, "It's just a check-up!" Slipifer squirmed more. "No! I won't-" She curled up in pain and tried to jump from his arms. She couldn't. Trent carried her several blocks to the Neopian hospital. A few minutes after they arrived, a man approached them. He had lots of white hair and a white mustache. "Sneggs you say? And a pain in the stomach?" He stood up, fixed his moustache, and said to Trent, "This isn't good..." Author : rinpu

..."Why?" said Trent, with a small note of fear in his voice. "It looks like Slipifer here has the new bug that's going around - Sneggitus. There's been a lot of over excitement about the Sneggs. Everyone's saving up for them. They over save, then buy tons of them, and over eat. Then they get bloated - or, even worse, very bloated, or, in the worst case scenarios, over bloated! Slipifer's over bloated. She ate way too many," said the doctor. "She'll have to stay the night," said the doctor. Trent went pale. Slipifer wanted to cry out, but couldn't. The pain of being over bloated was too sharp. If she had to stay the night, Shawnia and Jewli would think that she turned chicken and was afraid! She couldn't miss her big battle... ...she had no choice but to sneak out and go to the tournament. There was no way that she could let Shawnia and Jewli think she had wimped out. They would never let her live it down. Slipifer would never be able to show her face around town ever again if she didn't go prove herself! Besides, she had trained and trained and trained for this! Trent had been so good to her and now she was disappointing him, too. Slipifer knew Trent had already gone to the tournament to watch. All she had to do was figure out how she was going to sneak out. The doctors were very strict about watching their overnight patients. So, ignoring the pain, Slipifer stuffed all her pillows under the bedsheets to make it look like she was there sleeping. She started down the hallway of the hospital like James Bond. Biting back the shooting pain in her stomach, she snuck down hallways, hiding in small spaces, constantly looking around so that she wouldn't be caught. Finally, after about ten minutes of creeping and sneaking, she made it out of the building. Slipifer smiled to herself. She knew all that training would be handy for more than just kicking butt. Now all she had to do was make it to the tournament on time. She only had five minutes until that tournament started. She had an idea of how she was going to get there... Author : kachie85

...when suddenly her friend Zipper, a Lupe and a professional sled racer, came zooming by on his sled. "Hey Slipifer! Want a ride?" "Sure, I'd love it. Can you make it to the Battledome in like two minutes?" asked Slipifer. "Sure, no problem. Hop on and hold on tight." Slipifer jumped onto his sled and she and Zipper raced to the Battledome. When they got there, Slipifer thanked him for the ride and went inside the building where the athletes were getting ready. She started to feel the pain in her stomach again, but she ignored it. Slipifer quietly slipped into the locker room and got ready for the tournament. A few minutes later, the loudspeaker boomed, "All contestants please enter the arena at this time." Slipifer suddenly realized she was shaking and her stomach ached even more than before but she knew she couldn't turn back now because Shawnia was sizing her up... Author : silverflute2000

...and laughing at her. Suddenly the loudspeaker activated and a deep voice resonated through the lockers: "Will Slipifer and Shawnia please report to the arena for battle." Slipifer quickly made her final preparation, bit her lip and decided that she WAS going to win. Pain was shooting through her whole body by now which kept her shaking. Shawnia rushed over to her and said, "Hey Slipifer, are you okay? I couldn't help but notice you were shaking. You know if your not feeling well we don't have to do this." Slipifer thought that Shawnia was trying to rub it in. Slipifer responded with a determined looked, "Yeah right, I've been waiting a long time for this..." Author : icestream

...and I'm not about to back out at the last minute." Just then, Slipifer realized that the pain in her stomach was gone and had been replaced by a weird feeling. She felt as though she had grown to level 500 and had learned 100 abilities! And she felt so much taller. Little did Slipifer know, she was right. She looked at Shawnia and saw that she had gone pale. "Did your owner paint you with a white paintbrush?" She asked. "N-n-n-n-no," Shawnia stuttered. "Then why are you so pale?" Slipifer asked. ...for she realized that she was as white as a sheet of paper. "Why are you so pale?" asked Slipifer. "Be-be-be-cause...you..you're so big!" Shawnia squeaked out. "You're at least twice as big as me! It's not fair!" Slipifer thought that the Sneggs must have taken effect at last!! She stood up on her hind legs, so she was even bigger than usual. Then, she bent over and whispered to the shaking Shawnia, "Boo." Shawnia screamed in terror and raced out of the arena. Slipifer sat down again, stunned. She had won! People flooded on to the fighting ground, media included. "Slipifer, what do you plan to do next?" asked News-A-Roo. Slipifer thought about it for a while. "I think I might retire while I'm ahead." ...and started to dance a happy jig. Trent came down and picked her up, spinning around in a dance of his own. "Good job Slipifer!" he said as he hugged her. The media started swarming Trent. "How does it feel to be the owner of the winner of the Battledome competition?" Trent smiled. "I feel good. I'm glad that she won. It just shows that if you really want something and you work hard enough...well, she won." he replied. "But is it true that she was under the influence of Sneggs?" News-A-Roo asked. "C'mon Slipifer, let's go home." Trent said and started walking towards the door. Slipifer hopped down and walked next to him, jumping up and down in the snow... Author : eeveelover33

...since she was so happy she had won! "Now, don't get overexcited." Trent said, grinning. "You don't want to get overexciteditus." Slipifer laughed, and Trent bent low and gave her a stern look. "What have you learned from this whole thing?" "That I should be more careful," Slipifer replied, blinking her big eyes. She jumped on her owner's shoulder. "Let's not worry about it for now, let's just go home!" She climbed onto Trent's head and cover his eyes. That made both of them laugh as they walked home together. Of course, Slipifer would never, ever forget her victory over her greatest rival ever! But...would Shawnia???? Shawnia stood in the shadows of the Battledome exit, frowning. "I'll beat you next time...trust me, I will!" She shook her webbed fist at Slipifer and Trent as they disappeared from her view. Nope, she'd never forget.
