Chirrupie looked behind the couch but no one was there. He opened the
closet door but no one jumped out. He went into the kitchen, turned on the light and opened the pantry.
No one; the entire house was empty. "How could they forget this special day of mine?" he thought, "It
only comes but once a year." Chirrupie heard something upstairs and he quickly ran to see what it was.
A Beekadoodle was pecking away at the windowsill. He sat on his bed and began to sob. "How could they
forget? How could they?" Slowy, he cried himself to sleep...

...He woke up about an hour later and had sleep in his eyes. Something was poking into his head and he
couldn't get back sleep. He reached under his pillow and pulled out a small package wrapped in smart
Aisha wrapping paper. Chirrupie looked at the label and grinned. "Open this package to reveal your first
birthday clue. You probably thought we forgot. Now stop your crying and try to find the party!" Chirrupie
grinned. He never really thought they actual forgot his birthday...he just had something in his eyes that
were making them water. Slowly pulling back the paper he revealed the first clue: Eata loafa breada day.
Interesting, he thought. The Bread Master! He packed a few things and shot out the door without
delay...

...When he got to the store the Bread Master was in the back baking something that gave off a mouth-watering scent.
The Bread Master came running to the front of the shop with a fresh apple pie in his little hands, saying, "Ah you
musta be da one havin' da birthday! I gotta something a special for you!" He handed Chirrupie a warm blueberry muffin.
"Be a very carefula how ya eata da muffin. This one'sa special." Chirrupie took a bite and felt a piece of paper in
his mouth. He took it out and read the second clue: Stay at the 500 NP hotel. Chirrupie didn't exactly know
where this 500 Neopoint a night hotel was. When he looked up and saw a Faerie flying overhead, then he suddenly
remembered! It was the Astro-Villa at the NeoLodge! Off he ran with the rest of his blueberry muffin. He needed to find
Ferrin Atchley...

..."I'm not here to give you presents, kid. I just review the hotels," said Ferrin Atchley, a little testily.
"But I suppose I can show you the way just as soon as I get done with my latest report. Wait here." Chirrupie,
not having a clue where the Astro-Villa was, and seeing no other alternative sat down, prepared for a rather
long wait. To his immense surprise, no more than five minutes had passed when Mr. Atchley reappeared, looking
quite cheerful. And so they set off, up through the clouds of the Faerie City, finally reaching the VirtuPet
Space Station after what seemed an eternity to Chirrupie's jumpy nerves. "Here we are, kid. Astro-Villa deluxe.
Go for it." Chirrupie waved a hasty farewell and ran full tilt into the bustling lobby of the five star Neolodge.
He looked in awe at the swanky scene, feeling out of place, but every bit as eager to find his next clue. He checked his excitement
long enough to pull the crumpled, muffin-stained note from his pocket. Slowly, he approached the tall counter
of the hotel, standing on tiptoe in order to peer over the ledge and ring the large silver bell perched so
elegantly near the guest book. The concierge handed Chirrupie an envelope...

..."W-w-what does this say!" asked Chirrupie eagerly. "Hey, kid they don't pay me to go snooping through people's mail.
He-he! I wish!? You know all the secrets I could find out?" The voice was familiar but Chirrupie was too anxious to open
the envelope that he didn't care. Throw it fast and quickly as you can, a delay will make your party wait! "My uncle!"
the young Gelert yelped! "He is the only one I know who can still throw a mean PARTY! Straight to Uncle Mi-"
"Kid, hate to cut your party short but don't you recognize me?" This time young Chirrupie listened intently. "Are you...Uncle
Mittene! What are you doing here?" "Come on I need to bring you to the next clue safely! It's kind of dangerous. Your
mother...I mean, your whole family wanted to make sure you were safe through this whole thing. Oh, can I tell you somethin'?
Pay good attention to all the clues, soon they will all tie together and you can guess what your present is!" Both
ran to the Neovator and quickly got in. Uncle Mittene hit the GAMES button. As soon as they got out of the stuffy
elevator they found they were stuck in a game. GORMBALL!!!!! Suddenly a ball flew into Chirrupie's hands. He quickly
he got rid of it. "Chirrupie I need to tell you this, you need to win each game to get to the next clue. Good luck!
Oh, if you lose you have to keep playing. OK?" As soon as Chirrupie`s uncle left he heard a chant coming from
his playmates. "Gormball, Gormball pass it quickly or you will..." All Chirrupie could focus on was the ball that was
quickly coming his way. Now he was getting hungry. SPLAT, the ball blew in his face...

...He wiped his eyes and saw another ball was being passed around. Chirrupie quickly brushed himself up and continued
the game. Thyassa the Chia threw it at him, Chirrupie could feel that it was about to pop any second. He quickly threw
it to Grundo Chef and it exploded. After some time, it was down to him and Kevin Korbat. Chirrupie kept passing it in
a 2 second time range. The Korbat kept on throwing at a 1 second range. Finally, the ball was hurled into the air by
Chirrupie and splashed Kevin. SPLASH! Chirrupie jumped up for joy. Then he noticed a door that said GAME 2. He gathered
all his courage and gulped as he opened the door. A little slip of paper flew out. This is what it said: THE NEXT GAME
IS TRICKY, I CAN TELL YOU THAT! GET RID OF YOUR CARDS, BUT TRY NOT TO GET CAUGHT. The young Gelert wracked his brain.
This was a clue to the next game. He read it over. "Oh, CHEAT!" he said aloud. The room all of a sudden turned into
a bright light. Everything came into view again. Chirrupie was sitting in a chair with some cards in his hand. Capara
the Kyrii, Little Timmy the Tuskaninny and Branston the Eyrie were sitting on the other side. "This is not going to be a
simple Neo Scout Game," said Timmy, trying to look tough. "Start the game punk!" he said again.
Chirrupie looked down at his cards. He had three queens...

...clearing his throat, Chirrupie quickly laid them all down...."Three Queens." "You Lie!" screamed Branston the Eyrie.
Grunting with anger as he realised he was WRONG, Branston sat back down. After lying here and there without getting caught,
but catching them, Chirrupie was down to only two cards, a 5 and an 8. Thinking long and hard he placed the 8 down...no
one accused him... everyone eyed each other as everyone took their turn...placing down the 5, Chirrupie screamed as everything
disappeared and another clue popped up on the cards: The Caves were cold at first, but now the Faeries have warmed things
up a bit for this Lupe...

..."Faerie Caves!" squealed the Gelert. And in an instant, he was in front of a screen with Garon in a chamber. "Garon,
go to the blue teleporter," Chirrupie commanded. They were in a small island surrounded by a deep blue sea. Soon an oversized
Jetsam jumped up out of the water, which was ready to chomp on Garon. "Garon, dive!" he yelled. Indeed he was in the water, prying
open hundreds of oysters to collect pearls. And there was an unusually large oyster. Garon opened it, and there was a
flash of light! Both Garon and Chirrupie were transported to a purple dome. And suddenly, a huge bubble appeared and burst! And in its place
was the Water Faerie! "Chirrupie, answer me this: Which Mushroom can heal you of any disease?" "Yellow Healthshroom," replied
Chirrupie. The whole screen burst and a scorched piece of paper lay on the floor. Garon picked it up and read it to Chirrupie:
"I hide ancient artifacts here, which only big spenders can afford..."

..."Well, that's clearly the Hidden Tower of the Light Faerie, but," the young Gelert hung his head, "I don't know where
that is." Garon shrugged, "Me neither. Maybe the Water Faerie will take you there." Grudgingly, the Water Faerie agreed.
She waved her hand, and Chirrupie was suddenly standing in the midst of a bunch of items. A bright light was glowing in
the corner. He approached with caution, and fear struck him when he saw the almost all-powerful Light Faerie moving in
and out of the isles of rare artifacts. She turned to him. "State your name for the records, please." "Um, well, I'm
Chirrupie." He turned to the Faerie, and, quaking in his Wellington Boots, said "My f-family and f-friends are t-throwing
me a b-birthday party. I h-have to f-figure out the c-clues to f-find it. D-did they l-leave any f-for me h-here?"
"Stop stuttering!" She cried, and lighting bolts flew from her hair. She quickly calmed down, but Chirrupie was cowering
behind a chair. "A nice Gelert came by a little while ago that looked like you..."

..."Really?" questioned Chirrupie, "What did he say?" "I was just about to tell you if you would give me a minute!" she yelled.
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude...I've been very busy lately and I'm at my wits end," she apologised. "Now about that
Gelert," she continued, "He told me that a friend of his would stop by later to receive the note he gave me." She pulled
from her dress a violet colored piece of paper. Chirrupie graciously accepted the note. "Thank you," he said politely.
Just as Chirrupie was about to leave the Light Faerie yelled, "Wait, I have one more thing for you." "Here," she said,
"as an apology gift for my being so rude." She handed Chirrupie a small box with a small glowing light from inside.
"It's a Nova. Happy birthday," she explained. "Wow, I will, thank you," he said in amazement. Chirrupie left the tower
with his spirits high. In fact in all the excitement he almost forgot about the note. He ripped it open barely holding
back his excitement. From the note flashed a bright beam of light, which instantly transported Chirrupie into a pitch
black room. Chirrupie trembled in the silent darkness. "H-Hello? Anyone there?" Chirrupie asked nervously. Still
clutching the gift box and the card Chirrupe began to slowly walk forward in the darkness. All of a sudden the lights
came on and he found himslef surrounded by all his friends and family. "SURPRISE!" everyone around him shouted. "Yikes!"
yelled Chirrupie in surprise. All of a sudden Chirrupie realized he was on the beach of Mystery Island, his favourite
place in the whole wide world. Bongo drums were played as all of Chirrupie's friends and family danced around. Even
the pets and people Chirrupie had met on his quest had come, including the Light Faerie. Later that night the Cooking
Pot Faerie served some of her best food and Chirrupie realized it was worth all the time he had spent trying to get here.
The only worry on his mind was...

...the fact that it would all soon come to an end! He didn't have a gift for his guests! Only worry about the here and
the now, he thought. When it was over, he gave a quick speech. "Thank you for this great birthday party everyone. It really
was the best party I have ever had!" As his guests left one by one, he handed them each a small box, which contained
something very special--the story he had written while everyone else was eating their delicious Blumaroo Steaks. It was
all about the trip he made to find the party. "I hope you had a good time and enjoy my gift to you," he told the guests
as they left. He had really, truly, had the best time of his life. And he knew that his next birthday was less than
a year away.
