somewhere in a dark, cold cave a large group of Chias were
holding a secret meeting--a meeting so secret that most of them didn't even know why they were there,
except for the free Chia Pops of course. Just then, as they were told to take their seats, a
cloaked four legged figured stood in front of them. Slowly, he removed his hood, making all the
Chias gasp in unison. "I am the Lupe Collector, and I am here to help you," he said, as he revealed
his crazy looking Lupe catching contraption. Some of the Chias in the back looked very skeptical...

...They were not of this Wocky trustworthiness. Of course they knew that the Wockys were as much
against the Lupes as they were, seeing as they were closely related to Kougras. Though this Lupe
catching machine looked as though it had seen better days. "I know some Chias live in fear of Lupes,
and with my aid we will be rid of them, forever," the Wocky said. At this some of the Chias cheered
and nodded. "The Lupe Trapper 2000, as I call it, will scoop up all Lupes in its path. And a few
fellow Wockys and I will take them to our H.Q."
All the Chias looked around the room at each other with confused expressions. One of the elder
Chias stood up and asked, "What will you do with the Lupes then?"
"That," the strange Wocky said, "is classified information..."

...A small Chia sitting next to the elder spoke up. "So," he said loudly, "How does it work?"
The Wocky smiled. "Well you see this lever here?" he asked, pointing to a bent metal rod.
"You just pull that down and these wheels move along." The four little wheels were carved out
of stone and were a bit uneven. "When this machine catches a whiff of a Lupe, it will reach out
this huge arm and hold onto it while this net covers it." The arm was a rusted metal with a
large claw at the end and the net was made with a lot of frayed rope that seemed ready to fall
apart at any given moment, even in the weakest of windstorms.
"Catch a whiff?" The little one smirked. "That sounds like my PetPet Puppyblew!" All the Chias
began to laugh and hold their sides.
"Exactly," the Wocky said, smiling mysteriously. "Exactly..."

...The Chias were obviously confused, their visitor seemed very strange. But, since the prospect
of catching Lupes made them excited, they let the Wocky in on their secret information. However,
once the meeting was done, the Wocky stood up and smiled. "I always new Chias to be daft," he
said, and grabbed his ears. Pulling, his head slipped off, and underneath was the head of a
fire Lupe. "Foolish," he said, as he took the rest of his Wocky suit off, then he aimed the
Lupe Catcher 2000 at the Chias. "This is actually the Chia Catcher 2001, and I'm feeling rather
bored," the Lupe said with a grin, putting his paw over the lever...

..."Not so fast, Lupe fiend!" The voice came from a short hooded figure, stepping forth from
the crowd. The Lupe sneered. The small creature walked up to the Lupe. His hood fell off,
and all the chias gasped. Because standing before them was no hero--it was only Chimi Magi.
The Lupe laughed in his face. But Chimi stood his ground. "I wouldn't be laughing if I were you,
Lupe breath. Because you don't know what I have planned for you."
"Get out of my way, Chimi. I don't have time to stand and talk to a magician wanna be, who can't
even to a card trick to save his own life. Now," he said, aiming carefully at Chimi Magi, "I will
demonstrate the power of the Chia Catcher 2001!"
Chimi began to slowly chant something under his breath. "Ckey Qui seyonite gyso hottyaq diyojne--"
there was a loud crack, and some rocks fell from the ceiling. Sparks flew everywhere, and puddles
of melted Chia Pops dripped onto the floor. When the last POP grew quiet, the Chias slowly got
up from the floor and peered cautiously over to the front of the cave. They were shocked by what
met their eyes...

..."Qui cmsee hkay triu," muttures Chimi quietly. "Yes, the Fire Lupe has disappeared into thin
air. We have not seen the last of him yet. But let us not worry about these things yet. We will
deal with them as they come. Let us first examine this now broken contraption. Rub thse onions
against yourselves, for the scent of a Chia might be detected through the wires." Seeing as this
was the most sensible thing to do, the Chias peeled their onions and rubbed them all over
themselves...

...There were soon fine puddles of tears on the floor, for the onions were making the Chia's
eyes water so that they could barely see.
All the same, they continued to rub onion on their plump little bodies, and then those in front,
including Meshara Hara, a small Peach Chia, crept forward to inspect the machine. One of the
Chias--it was hard to see who through the jumble of teary Chias now pushing to get to the
front--reached through the wire and wiped off the words "Lupe Catcher 2000" in it's place were
the words "Chia Catcher 2001" but the Chia continued to rub, and below this was the name of the
manufacturer: Neopian Lupes and Lupesses Inc. The Chias gasped, and Chimi climbed on top
of the machine.
"WE HAVE OUR GOAL MARKED SO VERY CLEARLY! OUR WORK IS CUT OUT! WE MUST GO THERE WITH AN ARMY OF
NEOPETS AND DEMAND JUSTICE AND PEACE BETWEEN CHIAS AND LUPES!!" The Chias didn't exactly scream
with joy and envy. Most of them cowered away, and the bolder ones yelled at Chimi.
"WE have no chance against Lupes!" one of the elders cried.
"Demand peace? You're MAD! Simply crazy," added Kerrafa Mia, a peppy little Apple Chia...

...The Chias knew it would be unlikely, but they decided to go along with Chimi anyway. "If he
could make Lupe Collector disappear, what else is he capable of?" remarked an Avocado Chia.
The Chias gathered a small clan of neighbouring Wockys and Aishas to help them. They planned a
map of how they would enter the Lupe Cave. The Chias would wear armour and have swords to fight
with. The Aishas would stand guard, with their excellent hearing and the Wockys would smell the
tracks of the Lupes nearby.
On Chimi's command, the Chias charged into the cave. The Lupes were sleeping, and woke up to
the poke of swords in their fur. This wasn't even a fight for them. There was a loud roar, and
suddenly a huge figure shadowed upon them. Before their eyes, a hungry Balthazar walked forward...

...and sneered as he came closer and closer. Chimi could almost feel the Lupe's hot breath upon
him. He drew his sword and cried, "Stop, Balthazar! We've outnumbered you! Just give up!" His
knees were trembling like they were made of jelly. But he turned to his fellow Chias and
screeched, "ATTACK!!!"
Balthazar crouched down on all fours again, and looked up to the ceiling of the cave. "OWOOOO!"
he holwed, and for a moment Chimi was deathly afraid. But when nothing happened, he charged
forward, his shield in front of him.
But a bruised and battered Aisha suddenly pulled him back. "More Lupes have arrived! Retreat!
Retreat! The Wockys are battling them, but they are skilled fighters!"
Chimi looked at the Aisha in horror and Balthazar seized his chance. He leaped forward, knocked
the Aisha over, and lunged at Chimi...

...Balthazar stared down into the puny faces of the attacking Chias. "What makes you think you can defeat
us Lupes, when we are more than four times your size?"
Chimi stepped fowards and said, "I am here to end your Chia-hunting conquest!" With that, Chimi muttered
the spell. But Balthazar stood unaffected. "Fool," he said, "If I can withstand faerie magic, what are the
chances that your magic will affect me?"
Chimi stood, wide-eyed. His warrior Chias were no match for what was coming out at them. About two dozen bone-thin
Lupes with red, glowing eyes came from the shadows with steel claws and sharp teeth. The sound of each step was
terrifying for the Chias. Each hungry whisper gave them another strong urge to turn and run. Balthazar yawned.
"Do your work, my friend Lupes," he said. The Chias knew that even though the Lupes were bone-thin and weak,
the teeth and claws would do more than fend their owners. The Chias backed off, raising their shields and
holding their swords. Chimi halted the Chia army.
"Before we go," Chimi said, "There will never be a winning side." Everyone stopped moving, but Chimi
continued. "The more we fight, the more we destroy. We must end this war and declare peace amongst our kinds.
Otherwise, this war will continue on forever."
The Lupes turned around and headed back into the shadows, leaving the shocked Balthazar standing. "I... I...
I must..." Balthazar could not get his words out. Although even with his temper, he simply sighed and followed
the leaving Lupes.
The Chias turned, but Chimi hesitated. "Good luck to all of us," he shouted across the cave. With that, the
Chias left. Balthazar had to find another food source, and so would his pack. But there was finally peace...

...or at least until next Tuesday. Chimi and his victorious Chia army had returned to their headquarters,
and were celebrating over a large serving of Chia Pops when there came a knock at the door.
"Who is it?" Chimi shouted, as he stumbled over several Chias and the remains of the Chia Catcher 2001,
now coated in old onions and Chia Pop wrappers. Upon arrival, he opened the door to find a basket of strange
looking, furry Chia Pops lying on the doorstep.
He quickly grabbed the basket and brought it inside, and the Chias ate half of the furry Chia Pops when Chimi
noticed a note attached. Squinting, he picked it up saw a weird logo with a pair of evil pets on the back.
The image was smudged, but he could make out some sort of dog or wolf or something. Turning it over to look
at the message, he read: Furry Chia Pops - Turn any Chia into a Lupe in a matter of minutes.
All the Chias began to laugh, thinking it was a joke, until Chimi looked up at the moon and let out a
howl.
