The day before, I was an Egg
And who laid me, I have no clue
September 9th, a cosy Nest
I broke that shell just to see you

You helped me spread those tiny wings
Cared for my scales and ears and claws
If that's my family, that's alright
You are my home, there are no flaws

I heard the stories you told me
Paid close attention to them all
My favourite one was Defending the Castle
Perhaps that one is my true call

Then one fine day you brought a present
Told me "we have to go somewhere"
Said I would no longer be Blue
Innocent me, still unaware

You took me to the Rainbow Pool
Said "dip your toes, the water's fine"
Then bristles rubbed against my scales
And I was painted Valentine

I knew you loved me, yes I did
From the first moment, I was hatched
But covering me in pink and love hearts?
This kind of love cannot be matched!

Thank you for loving me, dear owner
If I could cook, I'd bake you a cake
No matter how you change my color,
Forever I'll be your first Draik

The Draik’s New Clothes

She’s ready for the red carpet
She’s ready to show up and out

She’d look good in a Snorkel Snout 

So allow her to bring her runway to you 
She’s part of Uni’s and Swolthy’s Elite 
With her hat strategically askew 
Ready for the Draik Parade on the street 

Now she’s ready for her Draik Day togs 
What delights will she see?
Enhancing her clothes catalogue
This garb is of the highest degree 

Come give her a round of high applause
She’s got a wardrobe with all the right signs
Her outfits all have just cause 
You know she’s dressed to the nines

The Valentine Draik

Has a beautiful heart.
She’s pink as a picture,
Amazing like art!

She’ll zip through the sky
With her heart-ladden wings,
And sing with a voice
Soft as violin strings.

She’s sweet and she’s sappy,
She’s clueless but kind.
She gives the best presents
That you could ever find!

And though her heart is so big,
Be careful not to break it!
She’s sensitive, you see,
And she just can’t take it.

So when you see this special Draik,
Give her hugs and treats!
She’ll return the favour
With a heart that’s full and sweet.

Draiks Through the Years

One of the cutest and smallest Neopets,
Might hatch from a very important Egg.
Although their Nest can't be found on Meridell's map,
To own a Draik, you can take a different path.

More than two decades ago, the species was released,
In the beginning, creating one should be easy.
If the first batch you missed, I bet you felt guilty, 
Within a few months, they were deemed restricted.

Kauvara went straight ahead and took the first step,
Creating exclusive magical potions to morph Pets.
What crazy and expensive prices they had!
Owning a Draik was definitely a symbol of wealth.

Later, the first eggs were launched on Merifoods,
The cheapest one was coloured dark Blue.
But to get one, your pockets still had to be full,
Otherwise, you'd walk away empty-handed, looking like a fool.

Eventually, new colours for the dragons became available,
Without a doubt, the angelic Faerie Draik is one of Neopians favourites.
At the same time, many people simply worship the Darigan's dark nature,
Even though they lack a touch of cuteness on their faces.

Let's save us some time and jump right into it,
Back in 2011, after solving the Krawk Island's disappearance mystery;
Forgotten Shore and Anchor Management were introduced to daily visits,
With Eggs and Potions to obtain a Pirate Draik included in the prize list.

Some older Draiks' owners found it unbelievable,
Getting them for a low price? It was certainly unreasonable!
In their eyes, it was considered despicable,
But it didn't matter, those lovely creatures became more reachable.

How pleasant it is to watch someone fulfilling a dream!
Dragons born pirates, with new colours to be seen;
There are some who wouldn't change a single thing,
The hat and the hook are more appealing, they think.

Though you may be a fan who can't create one today,
There's no reason why you shouldn't celebrate.

Kreatiion the Darigan Draik

Kreatiion the Darigan Draik
Is a creature who sparks fear
His dark visage strikes terror
Whenever he draws near

For his claws are razor-sharp
And each tooth is like a knife
Each footstep you might think
Causes horror and strife

Yes, this dark wingless wyrm
Causes terror when he's found
Gasps and screams and whimpers echo
When his footsteps bound

But Kreatiion the Darigan Draik
Is not quite what he appears
He may look quite fearsome but
He has spread quiet hope for years

Kreatiion the Darigan Draik
Destroys only to protect 
He may look like destruction
But he's not what you'd expect

You see, Kreatiion does not thrive
On chaos and disarray
And if he burns a forest,
It's only to clean out the decay

And he might make the choice
To burn a garden out
But only when it's infested
With bugs, you could do without

This Darigan Draik
As you might guess from his name
Is on the side of creation
And don't you wish the same?

A Draik's Dream

There was once a Baby Draik
Who dreamed to be a Faerie
Her wings were fairly short
And pink like blossoms of a cherry

Her owner loved her dearly 
Bought Plushies, Toys and Books
But all she ever wanted
Was a Blue-ish change of looks

One day her owner roamed about
And a Faerie indeed showed up
And her mermaid voice was asking
"Where's my Coconut Fruit Cup?"

The Draik flew fast to Mystery Island
Where the fruity food was found
Turned the tropical stall upside down
Searched from ceiling to the ground

There she found it, paid it, flew right back
To where they saw the Faerie first
There her owner and the quester stood
Good, they hadn't yet dispersed!

The Draik handed fast the item,
Said, "Here goes your fruity snack!"
And the Faerie, so surprised, exclaimed
"Oh, I have to pay you back!"

"You can visit me at the Fountain,
where the Rainbow colours flow!"
And the Draik said to her owner
"Paint me Faerie now, let's go!"

The Draik didn't have to say it twice
And her owner was convinced
This is how the Faerie came to be
The way she's been ever since.

An Escape for Sir Valrigard

Why! I cannot believe mine eye. 
It would appear as though Draik Day has come once again! 
Outside I can hear the ruckus, the party, the roar, 
Please pay no heed to the Blue Draik at the door! 

I am Sir Valrigard, imprisoned wrongfully I was, 
But listen there! Outside, it sounds quite a buzz. 
Go take a peek, I’m sure a fine faire treat is what you seek, 
Go on, leave me be, locked in this cage is poor ole me. 
What can I do but sit here in woe? 
Yes, yes, that brick has always been placed just so. 

Now, haste should you make, in the party outside you really should partake! 
I will not slip away, through the cells and chambers on this merry day. 
Go, have your fun, this Draik will remain until you are done. 

I will not climb down, past the wizard and stars, 
Escape for my life, no no! I’ll be here behind these bars. 
The cells go deep, and to flee would be futile, 
To clear my name would surely be brutal. 

So please go out, into the city no doubt, 
Draik Day will have you holler and shout! 
The key is on its hook, I promise you that, 
And yes, to the left has always been that mat. 

When you return from your day full of fun, 
Away from the castle, set like the sun, 
Forgive me my lies but you must understand, 
My name is Sir Valrigard and I must take a stand!

The Brightvale Glazier

If you’re walking through Brightvale,
You’ll likely hear clinking
and clanking of a Glazier,
doing some creative thinking.

This Draik in a cape
is not a fussy fellow.
He works hard, works clean,
and runs his shop quite mellow.

His windows are famous
across all the lands.
Surprising how such delicate art
can be made with his small hands.

His windows are quite fanciful,
colourful, and refined.
Stained-glass, Sakhmet style,
Even the Slime ones are well-designed.

Many of the panes depict
famous Neopians from far and wide.
Like Nabile, King Hagan,
Even Jhudora with her smile snide.

He hammers away,
day and night,
to ensure all of his shoppers
are awed by the sights.

So the next time you’re walking
through the Brightvilian country lanes,
Stop in to say hi to a Draik
And buy some new fancy windowpanes!

A Draik on Vacation

A Draik flies past overhead,
he is headed to Mystery Island.
What could have made him fled,
to the safety of the byland?

Maybe he's gone there to unwind,
to take a Tiki Tour or two.
If you go I'm sure you'll find,
many other things to do.

But where would he have come from?
I ponder this even more.
Distracted by the Island's drum,
that I didn't hear before.

What has caused him to leave his nest,
from the safety of Meridell caves?
The curiousity of this random quest,
is coming over me in waves.

Perhaps the caves are overrun,
by people wanting to try their luck?
To hatch a Draik Egg would be fun,
but I guess they run amuck.

The reason why he chose to roam?
Ah, I see it now, he needs a holiday!
Too many tourists in his home,
He just needs some time away.

That is today's special Neopet
It comes from an Egg that's hatched in a Nest
And otherwise is quite hard to get

This Pet first appeared in the Year known as Four
On the twenty-fifth day of Relaxing
For a brief time, 'twas Limited Edition before
But now Restricted, for those who are asking!

With long, winding tail and wings numbered two
That flap and allow them to fly
They soar over Mystery Island's beach view
Way up over clouds in the sky

Spikes make a line along down their back
All covered up in hardened scale
This Pet can defend as well as attack
Watch out for fiery breaths like a gale!

This Neopet is also quite good with a sword
Like one brave soul, Sir Valrigard
In Meridell Castle, he swings 'gainst the horde
To escape from the prison he'd been barred

But just simply brutes? Surely they're not!
There's Miles in Brightvale, for one
The Wheel of Knowledge: his idea he'd thought
To enlighten us all as it's spun!

Some use their talents for dreams in a sport
Crade Talvos was once a water boy
Years later he joined Haunted Woods on the court
Playing Yooyuball -- His life goal! His great joy!

Hatching Colourful Draik Eggs!

In order to get to the Draik Nest,
Located on Meridell, you must be close-
to a certain hidden location on the border-
of Meridell Town.

Draik is a special edition species-
awaits for you to fly on the edge.
They hatch eggs and new Draiks are born,
Borns as a Baby and they grow up to adults.

Darigan Draik Egg can fly with horns-
towards right and left, left and right.
It's so hard to get one, you might need millions-
of Neopoints in order to own one. 

Zombie Draik Egg is among the rarest on Meridell-
shop can be found, once in a blue moon.
You got to have a full bag of Neopoints-
It sure is super expensive and rare.

Ice Draik is a special colour you can-
only get through The Secret Laboratory Map.
Sometimes you might get lucky and restock one,
If you are fast enough, that is.

Blue Draik Egg can be found easily,
Green Draik Egg is a nice option deeply-
through regular Draik colours.
Yellow Draik Egg is rare but shiny.

Pirate Draik Egg is one of the most common;
As they can be found on Krawk Island-
If you are one of those with luck,
The price on Meridell is inflated.

No matter what type of Draik you choose,
Hatching any colour Draik Egg will make-
Your Draik Species fly like a dragon-
born from a colourful egg.

It's a special Draik Egg,
people treasure them,
and even used to beg!

How did you not know?
There are 10 types,
all colourful and spotted,
but no stripes.

There's Blue, Green, Yellow,
Pirate, Zombie, and Darigan,
but can't forget Ice, Red, 
Lost Desert, or Island!

To hatch your own Draik,
travel to the Draik Nest!
Be sure to pick out a good name,
your Neopet deserves the very best!

Are you ready to get one?
Make a trip to Forgotten Shore,
Perhaps you will be lucky,
and you'll get an Egg to adore.

If you don't find an Egg,
don't be down, hurry to Merifoods!
They sell really fast though,
so don't get into any feuds!

Instructions For a Draik Day Charcuterie Board

Hello there!

Whether you're an aspiring executive chef
Or a home cook desiring something fancy,
Please try out this holiday recipe 
That's quite simple to prepare
Yet still full of artistic flair.

You'll need on hand:
Twelve Cooling Courgette Slices, diced;
One cup Warty Blue Cheese, crumbled;
A Carrot Wrap, unraveled;
Two Pickled Olives, individually skewered; and
Half a teaspoon of Seasoning Sand.

First, in a large bowl, combine 
The Courgettes, cheese and sand.
Next, shape the mixture into balls,
One round and one oblong.
Then, on your Kou-Jong Chopping Board, align
The two portions until they share a centre line.

After that, press the olives, skewer-side first,
On either side of the round ball,
With one lettuce leaf each not too far behind.
Finally, insert some carrot sticks on top.
