PTERI DAY SPECIAL

The Faerie Pteri
By Chaenda

The faerie Pteri, so sleek and proud,
Sits upon a little cloud
Gazing upon the passersby,
And flies into the big blue skies.

Free as a bird, she flies up more,
As much as she could, she would soar,
Flying through clouds so fluffy and white,
Her lovely wings are a beautiful sight.

She passes through lands of green,
And some places she has never seen,
She stops for some water to drink,
And helps some Petpets who sink.

At night, she's nestled on her tree,
And she giggles to herself with glee,
For a happy day it has been,
And always she sleeps with a grin.

Rainbow Pteri
By Phoenixlyd10012

He looked to the sky with a wistful eye
And wished, for the millionth time,
That he could soar among the sky like
All the other birds and chime.

But his feathers were ones of steely grey,
A dull pelt, so forlorn,
He felt ashamed to open up his wings,
Longed for colours to adorn.

Until one day he got the pity of
A faerie warm and kind,
Who blessed his boring feathers with
A rainbow pelt that shined.

It was red and yellow and green and brown,
And scarlet and peach and ochre and black,
And ruby and olive and violet and fawn,
And lilac and gold and chocolate and mauve,
And cream and crimson and silver and rose,
And azure and lemon and russet and grey,
And purple and white and pink and orange,
And blue!

And he took to the sky, with a gleaming eye,
The first of a million times,
And so was the birth of the rainbow Pteri,
The first of his wondrous kind.

Just an Innocent Pteri
By Listen_heed

Why does everyone hate me?
Pictures are drawn of me
With remorseless eyes,
With glowering gazes,
With menacing glares,
With tearless faces.

All I do is warn you.
All I do is make sure you
Know you can't go further,
Know we will return,
Know that not all is lost,
Know the site won't burn.

The Neopets Team, they work very hard.
I was hired to make it less hard
For them to see your disapointed faces,
For them to see you cry,
For them to see you shout in fear,
For them to answer to "Why?!?"

I am the Down-For-Maintenance Pteri.
I help.
Don't judge me.

Black Pteri
By Reggieman721

A lonely caw from distant branch
Is scarcely heard on a lonely night.
A Pteri that is barely seen
Upon a tree doth oft alight.

It sings a song of sorrow, pain,
And those who hear are filled with fear.
Black Pteri's cry heralds great doom,
For those poor pets who stand too near.

Through darkness it cannot be seen,
But still it calls its horrid song.
No Neopet who hears the voice
Will stick around for very long.

Of evil things the Pteri speaks,
And so it lives alone each day.
Not one will heed its deathly caw,
And so, the Pteri flies away.

The Pteri Egg
By Anjie

Fragile, alabaster sphere,
Encased in haven warm.
Until the sunlight lingers here,
And small egg can transform.

A slender fracture marks the shell,
Which slowly peels away.
Pteri, small, doth now emerge,
Uneasy does she sway.

Delicate, her fledgling wings,
That shyly spread and span.
Each feather noticed with delight,
Soft tail does gently fan.

The tiny beak gives forth soft song,
She trembles in the breeze.
Curious, the wind does dwell,
Through feathers shall it tease.

Petite Pteri gazes down,
From nest height, way on high.
Endless seems the ground below,
She steps back with a sigh.

Oh, to glide on tumbling cloud,
And dart through sunlight's gleam.
To linger in the endless sky,
For now seems but a dream.

The hatchling spreads her tiny wings,
Determined, takes to flight.
Hovering above her nest,
She flaps with all her might.

A fleeting moment, soon long gone,
Is all she flutters for.
But hope is born within her mind,
That someday soon, she'll soar.
