Random Avatars: #thestruggle
by Jirachi68106

Bilge Dice Lucky Streak,
Got a score of twenty-four.
Nice try, but we tied.

I spent two hours,
I discarded so much junk,
This is pure rubbish.

Great Grundo Plushie,
Pass me your avatar, please...
Then I'll be at ease.

Went to Battledome,
Guess who I saw sitting there?
Not Sid, as always.

My Petpet is scared,
Mysterious Symol Hole.
BELLYFLOP! No mole.

Try to get blasted;
"Snowager for the stealing,
Fountain for healing."

'Pets love Kacheek Seek,
But I find it quite tiring.
Must keep smiling.

Now Coconut Shy,
Only twenty points per try.
Wow, what a nice guy!

At the kelp... again.
"Bon Appétit!" the chefs say.
I've heard that for days.

Tell Hagan wisdom --
He replies back, quite smugly:
I already know.

Do everything right
And receive no avatar,
Try hard as you might.

An Ode To Patapult
by Painted_dreams87

The Neopets Team has given us
a fantastic new game to play.
It's called Patapult and
Neopians rushed to it without delay.

Patapuffs were sold en masse,
because nobody could resist
a chance to feed the Patamoose
and get a prize from a list.

Patamoose flew threw the air,
hunting down the treasure
and bringing back idols --
what a pleasure!

At the end of the game,
the fun of redeeming idols began.
With so many prizes,
I can't pick just one. Who can?

From backgrounds to wigs,
and everything in between.
Many hours will be spent
staring at the prize screen.

A Wrong Turn
by Editorial

The dank air thickens upon the shores of Kiko Lake.
Sleepy murmurs drift from gaping windows, unaware.
Murky shadows cascade up the walls, looming,
extending, slipping through crevices of worn doors.

Wordless and tiresome,
the wet moon presses silence upon the sky.
A single die tumbles across the sand,
a skull faces the clouds.
Shallow breaths unravel the night.

Soft footing, a flickering gaze that does not belong.
The lake stirs,
its depths swallow in anticipation,
the waves recoil.

The darkness chuckles,
thoughts fragment, a bitter taste.
Uncertainty distorts discomfort into fresh fear.
When did this path become so unforgiving?

Fervently scanning the horizon,
a loose stone, a long stumble, a loss of focus,
a loss of luck.
The impact releases the held breath
of the night as a scream.

Lights flutter, yet footsteps do not.
Concerned voices encircle the visitor,
a flurry of comforting hands follow.
Finally upright, still weary and confused,
a smile questions:

"Um, would you happen to know the way to Roo Island?"

Saved From The Pound!
by Handuran

Hundreds of faces in a cramped and crowded room,
Looking at you for help, freedom from gloom.
Their days were happy until they were taken away,
And left to spend many an empty, endless day --
In The Pound!

Why not help an old, sad, and helpless soul?
Being re-homed is their one and only goal.
Whether they are red, blue, yellow, or green,
They'd look WAY better on your User lookup screen --
Safe and sound!

Every Neopet needs a home, a place of trust,
So if you have enough room, adoption -- a must!
Why not make an Acara smile or repaint a Kacheek?
There are pets you can help now, right as we speak...
Get yourself 'round!

It is an important thing that we rescue 'pets
And save them from their worlds of upset!
So, go and make a visit to The Pound right now,
And maybe you can help rescue
As many as you can allow.
A new friend that was lost... now found!

Codestones
by Brucey530

Overlapping, interlacing,
Two laced rings you show,
I found you lying on the ground,
your name, I think, is Vo.

Like a spear pierced through the moon,
it makes me pity you.
The moon is lying on its side,
oh lovely, lovely Lu.

Three thin fingers stretch to touch
a star that's far away.
With such elegance and such grace,
the sign of the Tai-Kai.

A leaping figure in a dance,
your source of joy unknown.
What makes you spring so happily?
Please tell us, dear Eo.

Crissed-across, atop a spot,
like an oddly shaped eyebrow,
or perhaps a bird above the sun,
signifying the one called Mau.

Two dots means eyes, three slashes, tears,
I wonder why you cry.
So simple yet so memorable,
frail and timid Bri.

A well-made circle atop a cross,
the meaning, I think, is plain.
You simply represent a man,
you're sweet, straightforward Main.

A single eye on the forehead
between two rounded horns.
Or maybe you are just an eye?
Regardless, your name's Orn.

Your name is laughter, but you show
a bladed axe of war.
It could be just a handheld fan,
or it could be just a Har.

If one looks closely, they might see
two fishes saying, "Hey!"
You're round, and sharp, and sport a Z,
you're a unique one, complex Zei.
