The Betrayer
By Chimeraii
A bitter wind, laid with frost,
Sweeps o'er the surface of my heart,
Grains of righteousness, wither and die
Feel the ice wash over.
Ties to humanity, thinning with time,
How many heartstrings must you sever,
Begging you to melt your heart,
Your response is evident: Will I? Never.
A golden heart, turned to darkness,
You, among us, for all this time
Stabbed us suddenly from the shadows,
All that acting, just a mime.
You the sleeper
hear the cries,
Mountains of darkness
Built with lies.
The abyss of time
Swallows us whole,
But ill will and hatred will take its toll.
You, the sleeper,
A heart of stone
The seeds of hatred
Revenge has sown

All Aboard
By Brilliance109p
Far across the distant lands,
Across the littered lea,
Over hills and under clouds,
There came the raging sea.
Its waves -- like Lupes of blue and white,
Bubbling in the heat,
Howling on like hungry Lupes,
Snapping at your feet.
A ship was launched to go afar,
To visit deserts vast,
A Shoyru with a covered eye
Set up the billowing mast.
The ship did go on Shoyru Day,
And as the captain roared,
Many streamed upon the ship,
"Aye! It's all aboard!"
The Shoyru with the covered eye
Had pointed far away,
"We'll sail upon each single sea
And rest on every bay!"
And so the ship, a looming ghost,
Lumbered out of sight,
The sun was harsh with roaring winds,
But all a pleasant night.
The Shoyru's wings were blowing free,
His eye was gleaming pure,
Searching with his Shoyru sense,
To find a sight of shore.
Many watched the ship away,
They watched it turn and go,
They watched it sail so far ahead,
Away from Valley's Snow.
None forgot that distant look
Upon the Shoyru's eye,
Will the ship return again
Be lightened by this sky?
One year forth, the ship returned,
Loaded hard with gold,
Many now will tell this tale,
As true as truth is told.

Thiriell of the Xweetok
By Artist_730
I am the dancer in the moonlight
Weaving in and out of your dreams
Footpaws padding lightly on mossy riverbanks
Eyes glimmering with thoughts
Unknown to all but me
Twirling lightly in the woodlands
Flying from Meridell's towering trees
Hiding when you pass by on the beach's sands
Smiling as you swim out to sea
And you never see me
Red like a blazing flame leaps across my back
Slicing through the chestnut brown
My eyes reflect the firelight
That burns in every vision I see
But now I am finally free
My dancing gracefully crosses every land
From the faerie's home to Maraqua's seas
Bringing with it mysteries and riddles
That fly about like Carmariller
Until you grasp it by meaning
But if you don't, they turn against you
Prophecies of a dooming future
So heed my words:
Discover the depth of the riddles
Or they shall destroy yours
And remember me,
The one with fiery back and eyes
The playful tree-leaper
The one who hides in the shadows
The one who dances out the riddles
And leaves it up to you to decide your fate
Before it is all too late
And maybe you shall see my sisters and brothers
Playing with me in Meridell's treetops
Magical eyes ever bright
Shining mysteriously in the night
Until you bring them to the welcoming light
Of a warm, cozy home.

Books and Covers
By Seaspray2006
As silver covers every cloud
And pleasure lurks in pain,
Then all these contradictions show
That sun can scatter rain.
As tears can show both pain and joy,
Then nothing's as it looks,
And snow can mask a surface well
As covers do to books.
So just as fire can destruct,
It's also warm and bright.
The meanest looking Neopet
May never start a fight.
A Neopet could seem a threat;
Intimidating too
But never judge too quickly;
Impressions aren't always true.

Altadorian Song
By Illusenfanatic
There is a kingdom, far, far away,
Where Neopets dance in the light of the day.
But one fine day a cloud arrived,
And from that cloud great evil derived.
There are twelve heroes to save this land,
But the darkness has given them great reprimand.
There is a wizened old Lupe,
Who reigns all the land.
King Altador stands tall,
With his weapon at hand.
He draws his bow with all his might,
And an arrow flies across the night.
A magical Aisha
Is Altador's queen,
She will help save the land,
With her powers serene.
Dark paths our heroes must traverse,
So that Jerdana can break the curse.
A powerful faerie,
A beacon of light.
And if you can find her,
You will witness her might.
Awakening early is very wise,
For Siyana smiles on the first to rise.
On a cloud on the sky,
This air faerie lays.
She dreams in her haven,
And the people all pray:
Psellia fair maiden of the air,
Help me avoid bad morning hair.
The youngest of twelve,
Young Florin's worst fears,
Is that the evil will take him,
For his brevity of years.
But planning his harvests in fields of skies,
The farmer tills with expert eyes.
A rich tax collector,
Counts the day's wealth.
And with all the money,
Invests the land's health.
Gordos weighs all coins with his scales,
Collecting the taxes on all the day's sales.
A gladiator of sorts,
Torakar will fight.
And in the heat of the battle
He reveals his true might.
With shield at the ready and sword held high,
Bravery and honor illuminate the sky.
Feared by many,
The thief creeps in the dark.
On an illegal mission,
This guardian will embark.
Stealthy, creeping, shadow-like,
Kelland waits for his chance to strike.
Although not present,
The Wave pays his dues.
By protecting the seas,
And bringing back news.
Marak, lord of the ocean swells,
Guides our boats from where he now dwells.
The life of the feast,
Sasha twirls round.
Keeping the party,
On air and on ground.
Her stars form a circle and shine like the sun,
The celebrations have just begun.
Fauna the Acara
Likes to collect
Plants and Petpets,
Or friends she's just met.
The gatherer simply picks her fruit,
Her gentle stars do follow suit.
Last is the sleeper,
stone-still under-sea.
When this faerie gets mad,
Everyone must flee.
Asleep no more and awake from her tomb,
Neopia would face certain doom.
When the twelve form a circle,
And their stars are just right.
The guardians will sing,
In the dead of the night:
To the winds of the north,
Three guardians do beckon:
Collector, Protector and Thief
Are all there to reckon.
To the waters of the east,
Another three draw their eyes:
The Wave, The Hunter,
And the First to Rise.
To the soil of the south,
Three more do salute:
The Gatherer, The Farmer,
And the Dancer with flute.
And lastly the west,
Where the fires grow deeper,
The Dreamer, The Gladiator,
And unwillingly the Sleeper.
On the night that this happens,
The evil parts like mist.
And the darkness surrounding
Will cease to exist.
The evil defeated, the guardians do send,
But that does not mean that she's met her end.
