The MSPP: A Pernicious Poogle Predicament

One quite spooky eve, a boy
Brought home a malicious toy.
"Yikes!" his mother had to squeal.
"Mom, I know that it's not real!"

His sister shrieked, "An evil plush!"
Petrified, away she rushed.
"Relax! This Poogle won't hurt you.
There's no vile deed a toy can do!"

He went to bed, his plush with him.
He slept as the sky was most dim
Until he heard a laugh so cruel.
Was this boy in fact a fool?

"I just imagined it," he thought,
Yet more harm the Poogle wrought.
The wicked toy pursued his soul.
On his mind it took a toll!

Eventually he hurled the plush
Out the window. Scared and flushed,
He could not go back to bed,
The frightful image in his head.

An Ode to Poogle Alstaf

Oh, who is he that always want
To create such an amazing art?
I hear the words leave his mouth
And love fills my heart.

You may not know who he is,
But I'm sure you've heard of him!
Maybe not by his real name,
But perhaps a pseudonym?

Then I shall speak the truth,
For his real name I'll tell you.
I present to you Alstaf Poogle,
A Neopian artist - that's true. 

Not only the judge of the poetry contest,
But also a fine poet himself.
That's why I write him this poem,
And hope he keeps it in his bookshelf.

Poogle Racing Day

Poogle crowds gather for the fair.
Balloons and bubbles are in the air
And race reminders everywhere—
Of course it’s Poogle Racing Day.
Even before the race has begun,
I ponder the motives of everyone.
I used to race mostly for fun,
But competition got in my way.

I’ve been racing for a while now,
For reasons dear and still somehow,
I can’t recall why I started so.
So maybe I’ll take the next race slow.

Lightning starts and highlight reels—
The victorious way you feel
When you cross the line is real;
I chased that every Racing Day.
Yet, some Poogles race just for show.
They do so as they’ve been told.
If that was all, I could never go, no,
I’d have to run away.

I’ve loved racing for some time now,
Through triumphs and losses, still I vow
To love the sport which has called
A Poogle like me to race after all.

Finishing last or first so proud,
To hear, “Champion!” crowned out loud!
The rising clamor from the crowd—
You win or learn, either way.
Some Poogles may feel estranged—
Medal or not, I remain unchanged.
To run for fun, through training pains,
Is how to live each and every day.

I’ve wondered aloud about Racing Day now,
You win when you give your best, anyhow!
It’s a Poogle celebration, I recall—
I guess I’ve known that all along!

The Poogle Apprentice

In the rich world of Neopian lore,
Exists the tale of a brave young Neopet.
A sorcerer apprentice Poogle of yore,
With steadfast ambitions set.

One day he discovered a nefarious plan,
Hubrid Nox kidnapped six of Neopia's greats.
And so the Poogle's adventures began,
To save the heroes from desperate fates.

First he rescued Magnus the Torch,
Who was trapped in a fiery domain.
As the volcanic flames began to scorch,
The Poogle swiftly navigated the terrain.

Next he saved the Lupe knight Jeran,
Inside a forboding castle of stone.
By quick-thinking and a solid game plan,
Dispatched Nox's minions with no mercy shown.

The apprentice then freed Master Vex,
Followed by Illusen and Jerdana of Altador.
Queen Fyora's rescue was the most complex,
Involving magic and spells never seen before.

At last all the heroes were saved,
Putting a stop to Hubrid's hero heist.
The Poogle apprentice smiled and waved,
Happy his modest skills sufficed.

Poogle Personality

You may think I'm sweet and cute,
and I can be if I want to,
But the truth is that if I don't like you,
I'M NOT THAT NICE TO PET.

I have to say this problem is moot,
I am too old to not act like a brute,
If you ignore me that's quite astute
PLEASE DON'T TOUCH MY HEAD.

If you don't get it, you don't compute,
Then really you should probably scoot,
For we will always be in dispute,
THAT'S IT I'M GOING TO BED

Poogle Day (Racing time!)

Ready? Get set,
Don't fret, don't sweat,
In 15 minutes, you get another chance,
In 15 minutes, you get another prance.

Poogle One is the favorite to win,
Lightning quick and great at jumping,
Will leave you in a spin,
With your fists pumping.

Poogle Two is amazing,
Oh look, what's over there?
Distractions when the race is blazing,
Will make Poogle Two lose their flair.

Poogle Three is very fast,
Their balance however might not last,
Clumsy only when jumping,
Will result in sounds of loud thumping.

Poogle Four used to be a winner,
But now, back to racing like a beginner.
Getting older, they still might surprise you,
In the race, they just might blow through.

Poogle Five has been getting chubby,
Some say they look cute and tubby,
Poogle Five still has a winning shot,
Bet on Poogle Five to lose? I say not.

Off to the Poogle Races

Over in Faerieland, there are many happy faces;
Neopians gather here for the exciting Poogle Races.
They come from near and far,
Some watch and others bet;
Every fifteen minutes they line up
When the speaker booms “GET READY, GET SET!”
 
Five Poogles run the race, in the rain or shine;
They know the drill and trot over to the starting line.
Some of them get treats from their eager bettors,
Others get encouragement in the form of letters.
At last the final Poogle enters the starting gate;
The bell rings and “THEY’RE OFF!”

Around the track they go, running with all their might;
The favorite Poogle picks up speed,
Leaving the others out of sight.
Around and ‘round they go as the crowd cheers;
The Poogles run on; the final lap is here.
Out of nowhere Poogle Five gives it all he’s got;
“AND THE WINNER IS… THE LONG SHOT!”

Poogle Bets

I bet on Poogle One, and wouldn't you know,
It was Poogle Two who stole the show.
The next round, I bet on Number Two,
Who lagged behind to smell some stew.

I put my neopoints behind Poogle Three,
Who'd never once had a single streak.
Then at last, I came to Poogle Four,
Who should've stayed home behind the door.

No wins for me, I desperately bet
On Poogle Number Five, before the race was set.
Run! Run! The crowd cheered.
Screams echoed beside my ear.

Poogle Five's winning, he's crossing the line...
Oh, drat... Looks like it's Poogle One's chance to shine.

MSP Poogle

Have you ever seen the special Poogle known as MSP?
It is very similar but not to be mistaken for a Poogle Plushie.
With a sharp-toothed grin and red eyes shining bright...
This Poogle is sure to be quite a fright!

There is only one method to getting them as a pet.
This is simply why they are hard to get.
You must find all the pieces of the lab ray.
Even still that lucky zap could take several days.

Stitched with checked cloth the color of yellow,
how do you know they are not a kind fellow?
Maybe they are just a misunderstood plushie.
If you give them a chance you might just see!

Their inner ears are pink with white dots,
while one foot is blue with green spots!
The MSP look like they are plotting your demise,
but really it could be a pleasant surprise!

Even though they look cynical you might come to see...
That they actually provide great company.
Spend some time together and in the end,
you might come to find they are a dear friend.

The Evil MSP Poogle

His eyes are glowing ruby red.
His teeth are sharp and spiky.
His looks are beastly through and through.
They match his evil psyche!

Atrocious is his grinning face.
It looks depraved and vicious.
His face is fierce, he looks insane.
He surely looks malicious!

I would not want to chance upon
His wicked, loathsome visage.
He's heinous, baneful, spiteful too.
He fills me with such outrage!

When next you chance upon his self,
Be wary and be careful.
He's villainous and full of wrath.
You'll have to be quite mindful!
