An ordinary winter day of year Sixteen
Became special as he opened his eyes
Youngest brother of the neopian family
The Vandagyre greeted the light

His siblings nurtured him and waited
For his soft delicate feathers to grow
He had countless days waiting ahead
To soar across the vast Neopia skies

But his mind was captivated
By the bedtime stories every night
About sisters with curse and blessing endowed
About a lone prince and the princess in shrouds
About bridges and blossoms hidden by the fog
About the fall of a fair city from the clouds
About bravery, loyalty, happily ever after
And hidden secrets of sorrow and woe
Consequences of deeds sowed and forgot
That flowered into tales his siblings told

Those stories he often heard
Of the histories he never saw
But as he learned to turn the pages
He met with their souls and thoughts

Books and scrolls engraved whispers of the world
Quills from the past wrote his fledgling wings
The Vandagyre wandered back through days and nights
In the golden glory of a winter morning

Though one deep desire, 
Forever holds in his heart:
Please, TNT, can we please have a new plot?

A Wonderful Mutant Vandagyre Friend

One of my best friends is considered an oddity,
their features make people think they are a monstrosity.
A mutant Vandagyre is what they be!
Let me tell you about how special they are to me.

We share many hobbies which makes it fun
to plan out activities together until the day is done.
One of our favourite things to do is read a good book,
my Vandagyre friend has suggestions if I'm unsure where to look.

A mutant Vandagyre might look intimidating in feathers and slime,
but look past the tentacles to see they are one of a kind!
I think it is amazing they have three eyes,
They are so interesting and full of surprise.

I adore my mutant Vandagyre so much!
We have a great time when we go out for lunch.
Each day spent with them is a pleasure.
Our friendship is something I will always treasure.

A Vandagyre Day Celebration

For it’s Vandagyre Day!

We must celebrate
And honour this fine fledgling:
A warbler’s favourite!

With two feet, two wings,
They’re capable of great things – 
And watch the claws too!

Reading, gardening,

Came from the mountains,
Hardy, tenacious, but fair.
You should be aware.

By the Great Feather,
They could say in great surprise!

Of Stealthy, Starry, and Ice.
All would be quite nice.

The best of the best,
But don’t take my word for it,
Grab one for yourself!

The sooner you do,
All your hopes and dreams
To fruition too!

The verdant treetops are alive with great cheer
For Vandagyre Day is coming this year!
And to honour this day, this marvellous occasion
A great new food craze is gripping the nation!

Is it cake? A milkshake? A scrumptious clam bake?

For those with fine tastes, there's a rare, special treat
Chocolate peanuts with peas are a great joy to eat

If you want gourmet trophies, this is one step toward it!

So come on up to the treetops, the food's second to none!
Some healthy, some not, but it's all in great fun!

Or other feathered creatures?

How about sending your Vandagyre
To the great battledome fray?
Though maybe not, it's much too dire,
For after all, it's his birthday.

Alas, my poor Vandagyre,
As a humble bystander,
Your name it does confuse and tire,
Could we just call you the "Vanda"?

An Ode to Vandagyre Day

Alas, the day of the Vandagyre,
If you said I was wrong, you’d certainly be a liar.
With aerial skills a beaks unmatched,
Keep your eyes to the sky or you may get scratched.

High mountains are what they call home,
But don’t be fooled - they love to roam.
Despite all of this, they love their flock -
Among themselves they love to gawk.

Aside from flying, they love to relax -
Indulging in a variety of teas and snacks.
For after a long day of flight, calm is in order -
As the Vandagyre is not one for disorder.

So if you see this majestic pet fly by,
Make sure to give them a welcome “Hi!”
Although being the newest pets to Neopia,
The Vandagyre makes our universe quite the utopia!

Dichotomy of a Zombie Vandagyre

Plenty, lack.
Old and new.
White and black.
False and true.

Can these exist in harmony?
At least one can.  Because, you see,
In this grand year of 23,
On one night full of witchery 
And magic, something came to be.

The Zombie Vandagyre seems
Alive and dead, for its flesh teems
With life in smaller, discreet teams--
Split in itself, not just at seams.

Alive and dead and old and new,
A taste for brains, new life untrue,
The same mind in a case that few
Would dare to come near, but eschew.

New eyes that can be moved without,
Old skin held tight with string and doubt,
New, unseen ere year 23,
Old with time, as you'd agree:

Time makes all new into the old,
New seasons come, all brash and bold,
And e'en those fade--days don't withhold.

Therefore, let's enjoy and review
The temporary join of new
and old, and death and life anew.
Regardless of the tread of time,
The Vandagyre carries on,
Bearing the scent of carrion.

Vandagyre

A young Vandagyre, whose name was Briar,
went out walking the shire without a squire.
"Oh me, oh my-ah", said the Vandagyre,
"A walking companion I do require."

"There's a kindly Gelert living nearby, 
Whose spotted coat I do admire,
I wonder what he'd reply" thought the Vandagyre,
"If I should ask him to be my squire."

Then a sound from nearby made her cheeks burn like fire,
As the Gelert appeared, and gave a reply,
"Why Miss Vandagyre, I'd surely be a liar,
If I said I wouldn't happily be your squire"

Now the young Vandagyre has a friend and a squire,
And they meet every day for a walk across the shire.

All About Vandagyres

Up high in the blue skies,
The Vandagyre flies.
Swooping high and dipping low,
Riding the wind like a pro,
Missing nothing with their big bright eyes.

Tend to gather together in a flock,
We all adore the Vandagyre,
For much work they do not require.

They are also really clever,

They keep their feathers always sleek,
Well preened wings and shiny beak,
Ears like two little buns,
Need to be combed daily at least once,
To which there’s a technique!

It’s unfortunate they can’t wear,
All the wearables out there.
But they look good in everything,
And love trying new clothing,
And put on a Vandagyre flair!

Let’s all go outside and play,
After all, it is Friday!

The Desert Vandagyre: Charming and Luxurious

The Desert Vandagyre is grand,
A lovely owl o'er desert sand.
This charming creature will delight!
No finer beauty is in sight.

Her eyes, so lustrous, shine in sun.
They really are a lot of fun!
The eyeliner is very bold,
And pricey, or so I am told.

The headdress is so elegant.
A lot of Neopoints were spent
On such a gorgeous piece. The feathers
Glimmer in the sunny weather.

The ruby, radiant, is such
A stunner, pleasing very much!
It's oh so rare, and gorgeous, too.
This gem is one of just a few.

The robe is light and very smooth.
This texture, soft, is sure to soothe.
The belt, faux leather, shall not harm
Real animals---don't feel alarm.

So, if you seek a feathered friend,
The Vandy, joyful to no end,
Will be your pal in desert sand,
Enchanting o'er this noble land.
