The Ghost of Popcorn Past
By Crystallizedginger

It has an awful reputation:
Goblins and ghosts that screech and glow,
Freakish clowns with odd mutations,
Cloaked figures that whisper as they go
Past you in the moonlight.

Why do I keep coming here?
It's a den of crooks and highwaymen.
Others are all too filled with fear,
Scared of spirits, gaunt and thin,
To overcome this mindless fright.

But when I try to ignore it, my feet don't obey.
I find myself turning around
Moving toward that unforgotten way
To the old Deserted Fairground,
Black and looming in the night.

I pass under the wooden sign
And try to recapture what it was like
When this lovely place was in its prime,
And I was just a little tyke,
So overcome by the sounds and sights.

But the best memory of them all
is of the popcorn, salty and crisp,
Better than Apple Lanterns in the fall,
And the candy floss in pink, sweet wisps,
Or Ghost Marshmallows, puffy and white.

I know I can't change what it's turned into,
A dingy hideout for no-good thieves.
There's nothing anyone can do;
It's too overgrown with trees and leaves
To even try to put up a fight.

King Kelpbeard of Maraqua
By Schefflera

King Kelpbeard of Maraqua
King Kelpbeard in his hall
Defied the skull and crossbones
And saw his city fall.

King Kelpbeard of Maraqua
Arose from his defeat
Called back his scattered people
To years of toil repeat.

King Kelpbeard of Maraqua
King Kelpbeard with no hall
Rebuilt the ruined city
Against the curse's thrall

King Kelpbeard of Maraqua
Had promised they'd be safe
He trained a mighty army,
And kept below the wave.

King Kelpbeard of Maraqua
King Kelpbeard in your hall
Oh, trust not in maractite,
For even secrets fall.

King Kelpbeard of Maraqua
Found sisters two, one day.
The one seer was honoured,
The other sent away.

King Kelpbeard of Maraqua
King Kelpbeard in his hall
Forbade them all the surface,
But Isca heard its call.

King Kelpbeard of Maraqua
His fears came to a head.
The mighty pirate Scarblade
Fulfilled the curse of Dread.

King Kelpbeard of Maraqua
King Kelpbeard in his hall
A pirate and an exile
Have spared the second fall.

S.M.E.L.T.
By Ktkdk

Sir Migwot Blumpington, what a strange name.
No more time for laughing;
It's time to start the game.
Plan, measure cut. Repeat that three times more.
Look! In less than ten seconds I made a Depilator!

Now I have just a second to inhale and exhale
Before I work for Clarence Chichester Coggeshale.
He wants five pieces for his new machine,
One more than Migwot, which seems a little mean.
At least I have more time to do his task.
Before time is up, I make him a Aurophone at last.

I have another client! Oh, goodness me!
It is the feared warrior Moeriki Akoni!
He wants six parts, which is really a lot,
But I don't complain, since he is such a big shot.
It takes me a while, and Moeriki has a laugh,
But I finally make him his Chronometrograph.

Commodore Rigney Birkin is such a gentleman.
He asked if I could make 7 parts; I said, "I can."
He is so generous that he gave me a smelt,
And I replied with gratitude that was truly heartfelt.
A Manu-Oscillating Aurophone is what I made,
And for my excellent work, I was richly paid.

After four levels, I decide that I am done.
However, this new game is a lot of fun!
I say goodbye to my clients with a bit of sorrow,
But promise that I will see them all tomorrow!

The Rainbow Koi Shimmers
By Clockworkchildren

The water shimmers with rainbow colours,
You know it's not just the sun,
Looks like a mirror ball,
trapped underwater,
Sparkling away; you are stunned,
Coming to the surface now,
All the colours of the rainbow,
Now you see him -- rainbow Koi,
The most beautiful sight to behold,
Swimming freely, leaving a path,
Of glorious Technicolour,
glittering in the sea.

The Soup Faerie and the Habitarium
By Mystie06

"Soup Faerie," I said,
"what's this Mootix
doing in my soup?"

She looked in my bowl
and replied, "It looks to me
like he's doing the
100mm freestyle."

"Soup Faerie," I cried,
"there's a Mootix
in my soup!"

"Hush!" she replied.
"Not so loud!
Or everyone will want one!"

"Soup Faerie," I said,
"What's this Larnikin
doing in my alphabet soup?"

She sighed,
"It's standing in
for the apostrophe."

"Soup Faerie," I cried,
"Why, oh why,
is there a Pinchit
in my soup?"

"Because," she replied,
"I ran out of Mootix."

"Soup Faerie," I said,
"Why aren't there any
P3s in my soup today?"

She sobbed and replied,
"They all died;
all I have left are
these cute little gems."
