The Wheel of Extravagance
By Angelachen97

Deep within the city of Qasala
Lies a wheel for expensive tastes.
Welcome to the Wheel of Extravagance,
A wheel that you will love or hate.

Do you dare to go and take a spin?
To challenge and play with fate?
You may walk away with many riches,
But the risk in losing is also great.

It's an ancient, everlasting wheel,
Complete with a rim of shining gold.
A blue gemstone sits on the top;
Mystery and magic is what it holds.

Step right up and take a quick spin.
First of all, though, please do pay;
One hundred thousand of your Neopoints
Is what it's going to take to stay.

Land on the X and that's bad luck,
For there is absolutely no reward.
Please don't complain or whine or cry;
Just accept the fact that life is hard.

Land on the any other pretty slots,
And showers of gifts you will win;
Whether it's a Nerkmid or an avatar,
You'll be able to cash some NP in.

The Wheel of Extravagance is a test;
It is not for the vulnerable and weak.
You may lose big or only win small...
Do you want to spin and take a peek?

Journey to the Wheel of Extravagance
By Prs4396

Off to Qasala the rich Neopian goes,
Moving through the desert as the sand blows,
Passing through the great Sakhmet city,
Going through the stalls that are pretty,

Spending his money on everything he sees,
From a Pyramid Mace to tasty Sand Cherries.
Soon after he goes through every shop;
He still has so much money to drop.

"Qasala!" thinking of all of its stores,
That sell golden weapons and scrolls about doors,
Deciding to leave Sakhmet right away,
Arriving in Qasala by mid-day.

The grand and gold buildings are all he can see,
A great place to spend for someone so wealthy.
Walking up and down each and every street,
He stumbles upon a place where he can eat.

Spending his money on some nice gourmet food,
By such a delicious meal, his tastebuds were wooed.
Getting up after a such satisfying feast,
Looking to spend his money, he travels east.

He sees something perfect, like a dream come true,
A place for those with money to run through:
Wheel of Extravagance, perfect in so many ways,
A wheel so perfect; to all, it will amaze.

He gets 100k out from his bag;
For him, spending money is no drag.
He hands the money to the fearsome Tonu guard,
And with all his force spins the wheel quite hard.

Spinning and spinning for quite a while,
Soon enough, though, it starts to slow down in style.
When it stops, rich Neopian can't believe his eyes,
For a shiny new avatar is his new prize!

The Wheel of Extravagance
By Greenglitter

There is a land that tells of a great tale,
where lost fortunes may prevail;
the land holds a mysterious fortune,
a high roller's wheel,
for Neopians with expensive taste.

Spinning around and around,
no Neopian will be let down,
unless you land on the 'X',
that's when you'll hear the Tonu yell, "NEXT!"

Nerkmids, job coupons, paint brushes,
the Wheel of Extravagance shoots out many prizes,
there and here,
Neopians collecting everywhere!

Guarded by a heavy Tonu,
wearing desert armour,
jewels plastered on too;
he doesn't let just any Neopian pass by and spin!

Only the wealthy have a chance to spin,
the poor will be drained,
bearing nights through the desert,
with no shelter against the gale.

So what's the conclusion, you ask?
The Wheel of Extravagance may
unlock beautiful treasures for you,
or you may end up blue.

The Wheel of Extravagance

Oh, Wheel of Extravagance!
How dare you exist?
You taunt me with expensive prizes,
Nerkmids, paint brushes, and pieces to a secret lab.

Like a foolish child, I spin,
Expecting wondrous rewards,
and Neopoints aplenty,
My every dream, my shining beacon.

But alas! It was not meant to be,
For with every spin,
You snatched away a hundred grand,
And left me with nothing but misery.

You drained away at my savings,
Made the Skeith sigh to see my face in the mornings,
For we both knew my quest was futile,
Even if we both feared to voice it.

Oh, Wheel!
Must you deplete me so?
I scramble each day to regain my money,
Only to fall short, time and time again.

I tell myself I won't spin,
I head to Faerieland, Shenkuu, Moltara,
Anywhere where you're not there,
I run to escape your alluring glare.

But my feet betray me,
I find myself enticed.
Again I stand before you,
Again I spin toward my doom.

What's this?
Can it be?
The jingling of bells, the cheering of the masses,
Is it all a dream?

What's that you say?
I've won?
Truly?
Can such a thing transpire?

Oh, Wheel!
How wrong I was to doubt you so;
I thank you for your gracious heart
And bid you with my greatest regard.

Come tomorrow, I'll return;
Don't doubt me, my Wheel,
For you have captured my heart,
Farewell, my Wheel, we'll meet again tomorrow,

And every day should you desire,
Just please, let me win.

An Extravagant Spin
By Deniseeeshufen

There's a new wheel in Neopia
With very high stakes.
In fact it's much more than
A poor Neopian (like me) usually makes.

The temptation was great
As I read on the Neoboards
And saw what luck other Neopians had
In the prizes that they got.

"I won a Plushie Paint Brush
(estimated price, 8 million)!"
"I won a Map piece!" "I won a Nerkmid!"
Chimed many other ordinary civilians.

So I thought about it...
And listened to my Neopoints jangle in my pocket.
Looked around my Neohome,
At my furniture, which even I have to admit
Was quite down-market.

A little voice whispered in my ear,
"Loosen up, have some fun!"
What harm can it do?
Just one spin and we'll be done!

So with my heart in my mouth,
I set the Wheel spinning.
Nerkmids, map pieces,
Even a profit of 1 Neopoint,
I would consider as winning.

The Wheel slowly sputtered,
And then it stopped.
I closed my eyes out of reflex,
But to my great horror,
It was the big dreaded X!

I cursed that big wheel,
I cursed my luck,
I cursed my friends too;
Most of all I cursed that little voice
In my head that had been my bane.

I scrimped and saved,
Sold off my items,
Played a game or two.
I guess I didn't really have a choice,
And in just a few days
I was back at the Wheel again...

The Wheel Of Extravagance
By Renewed

Right there the Wheel sits, shining in the sun.
Oh, how I want to spin it; it looks like so much fun!
All the prizes one can win;
Clearly one would want to spin!
Everything could be won
If one could try just only once!

I spin the Wheel and sing a song;
I wonder what possibly can be won!
The Tonu smirks at my happy face,
Oh, how I've made my bank disgrace!
I watch the Wheel go round and round...
Oh, what a wondrous device I've found!

But as the Wheel spins past my prize,
I find myself wet in the eyes.
WHY did I have to be so bold?
If only I could return my gold.
I want to spin again and again,
Too bad I've lost and have nothing to gain.
