Yurble Day Special

A Yurble Rhyme

Hello, dear Neopian reader! Let me pose
one quick problem, if indeed I may impose.
I wanted to write a poem for Yurble Day,
but to rhyme with 'Yurble'! What can I say!

I thought and thought, I thought some more
to find a rhyme for Yurble, what a chore.
Koi rhymes with toy, ploy, boy, and enjoy.
Korbat of course - sat, pat, that, and hat!

And Jubjub, why so much rhymes with Jub!
How about rub, tub, cub, scrub or club?
But Yurble! What a challenge my friends,
to write a poem for Yurbles with my pen.

So instead I think I'll focus on the great
points of the Yurble, and say it straight.
Yurbles are curious! Did you know this fact?
If you own one, you can see how they act.

They are playful and fun, and they love to eat.
(To be fair, don't we all - especially treats!)
But that's something you know if you have a cute
Yurble, (please make sure they eat some fruit!)

I hate to focus just on these few stereotypes,
as Yurbles are individuals and worth some hype!
But as I cannot seem to find a word to rhyme
with Yurble, this poem took a rather long time.

So as yet another great Yurble Day has arrived,
I hope all Yurbles will have fun today and thrive!
(And I will be thinking, keeping my mind clear,
to decide how to rhyme with Yurble, for next year!)

The Caretaker

Dare you beware the caretaker fair
In Haunted Woods graveyard over there?
With attitude surly and anger that surely
Will deter the faint of heart quite early.

His books that crooks had stolen in theft 
With pout and with shout, he’ll say he’s bereft.
So, if Spirit of Slumber you aim to find,
Play fetch and you’ll catch all the books combined.

He’ll act as a guide for the graveyard inside
With bones to be tested in tombs you bide
Your time as thousands of graves you exhume, 
Disturbing the ghosts from their underground room.

Cross off each name lit by candleflame
To find the right specter is why you came.
But lest you be found by Yurble blue
Who has a few choice words for you.

“Get out!” he shouts as he realizes true
Our heroes are digging up graves anew
For good reason, yes, but still cause distress
To our fair Yurble caretaker, give him a rest.

Yurble Day Fashion

Gather round the closet,
As we tour the style,
It may take a while!

From a Yurble Admiral,
Let us admire!
To a Warm Yurble,
High winter fashion.
It's a passion!

Gather round the closet,
What else is there?
For a Yurble to wear?

For those who dare,
There is a scare.
With a Halloween Paint Brush
The Tax Beast is on the here to rush!
From mask, gloves, shoes and suit.
How do we forget the money bag!

Don't forget the Royal look,
Nor the Island, Desert, or Pirate look.
Oh no, oh no!
There's the Robot look we cannot forget.

Regal Yurbles, Hermit Yurbles,
Artist Yurbles and Lumberjack Yurbles!

We barely enter the closet.
So much when it comes to design.
It's Yurble day, yo yo,
Hey-yo!  Show off your latest Yurble fashion.
When design is your passion!

Faerie Yurble

Faerie Yurble gently dreaming
Flights of fancy were you weaving
Quietly tender blossoms wake
Neath uncoiled ears delicate

By a softly whispered smile
Weewoo serenade chorus while
Enchanted by morning floral perfume
Pitter patter paws amongst the bloom

Sunshine brisk and warmly bright
Glistening fur bathes in light
Shimmers of turquoise and lavender
Carried by wings of lilac gossamer

Granted by the warmth of day
Opportune for banter and play
For each and every woodland friend
Enjoys the time she spends with them

They bask until the evening mark
As orange horizons flush to dark
Return to sleep once more she flies
To dream again for morning rise

Dance of the Yurble

The forest floor is alive and awake
With plenty of fruit and nuts to take
So scurry out from your den, for goodness sake

Now swing to the left then swing to the right
Spin around your partner in the warm daylight

The Yurble Colours

Scurrying through the undergrowth,
Searching for food again.
I'm talking about the Yurbles,
And their colours I will explain.

With the presence of royalty,
The Royal Yurble is passing by,
Along with a Gold Yurble,
That glimmers and shines.

With its beautiful wings,
A Faerie Yurble appears.
The Mutant is also here,
Apparently missing its ears.

The Camouflage Yurble is hidden,
Never to be seen,
And the one dressed as the Tax Beast,
It can only be the Halloween.

Fire and Maraquan are friends,
Always playing games.
But how can they play underwater,
If one is burning in flames?

Everyone is celebrating this day,
Making wonderful speeches.
Every colour united,
Of this beautiful and caring species.

The Curious Yurble

The wind blows his majestic mane 
As he indulges in the warmth of summer rays.
One can’t help but pause and admire
The wondrous Yurble on the 28th of May.

His paws tread with steadfast purpose
And his eyes gleam with insatiable curiosity.
He holds his imperial head up high
Radiating calm and serenity.

You’ll often find him afoot on the open road,
In Moltara, Roo Island, and Meridell, too.
A free spirit that looks to the Neopian sky
Dreaming of the next adventure to pursue.

The Darigan Yurble

Oft overlooked, the Yurble
Is a humble, unassuming pet.
His name is rather comical-sounding;
His defining traits, well... I'll forgive you if you forget.

I myself am one such fellow,
Known for our good disposition and fun-loving nature.
But similar to that fearsome little beast, the Werhond,
You'd be wise to not overlook me
For as foolish a reason
As my stature.

It's true I enjoy foraging,
(among gnarled, thorny thickets even a knight in armour would baulk at,
I might add)
Good conversation, reading novels, and yes, eating just about anything.
Which sounds cute on paper,
But is a different case entirely, you'll agree,
As I crouch before you with a fanged grin.

As I'm sure you can tell by my
Vibrant red wing membranes, raised high and imposing,
And my glowing crimson eyes,
I am no ordinary violet specimen.
Nor am I a freak accident from a lab,
Whose sharp fangs are little more than a deception,
For in my species, the price for a fearsome, mutant maw is
One's front claws... and depth perception.

My mane is the colour of a cloudy sky about to cause
Some serious disruption to your outdoor activities.
My claws are suited for combat, the edges of my horns are sharp as blades.
What, did you think a structure so clearly keratinous
Was a cute, curly ear? Tsk. My real antennae are hidden in my fur,
Just beneath (and protected by) these fearsome black laurels,
Which are my dark crown of victory.

I have no contempt for my amicable, forest-dwelling cousins,
But I am not the same as them.
Much too rough around the edges (literally).
Although their friendly demeanour will forever occupy
The world's perception of our kind,
I hold no animosity, no desire to settle a score.
Yet, you'd be wise to do away with your preconceived notions...
I am Darigan, now hear me roar!
