Blumaroo Day Dice Match

Deep within the catacombs
Walls echo with the clatter
Of dice that roll from unclenched paws
And friendships, shortly shattered.

Two Blumaroo began a match
One they'd promised, would be friendly
Each staked a hundred Neopoints
And joked, they'd both go gently.

But as the match proceeded
The wins of one surpassed the other
Both Blumaroo watched, baffled
As he rolled, and won another.

"The dice are rigged!" his friend protested,
Camaraderie now fleeting
His companion then grew restive-
"Are you accusing me of cheating?"

The Blumaroo matched glaring eyes
Over the towering pile of gold
The fortunate clutched the dice in his paws
Then dropped them, feeling cold.

The dice both struck the ground,
Bounced once, then at leisured pace
Rolled restfully to the loser's paws
Who met the dice's upwards face.

Two skulls gazed back towards him
From both die, grinning grimly
Both Blumaroo glanced down and up
Both faces frozen, frowning thinly.

One icy moment passed before
The winner shrugged, and laughing pushed
The pile of winnings to his friend
Who reddened in a blush.

"Come on!" His friend smiled
"You won! Don't feel ashamed."
But the former loser pushed the winnings back
And frowned-- "No, I've lost the game."

"I should'nt have accused you of cheating,
"We've been friends for all of ours lives!
"That's nothing we should gamble
"On a silly round of dice."

His friend leaned forward and smiled,
Then reached out and grasped his paw
"It's alright, let's head on upwards
"I'll treat you to some Borovan!"

And so the Blumaroo ascended--
Abandoned dice and gold
And resolved to keep their friendship
Off the stakes of any roll.
