uncontested into darkness leaving
the moon dancing between passing comets.

The cheers have subsided,
the stadium empty, no slushies
left to sling, only the reminder
of matches won and friends made.

Wonders to behold just beyond the
horizon, follow the music,
feel the heartbeat of entrancing lights
at the Coastline Gala.

Enjoy the offseason until
the competition of the matches
and the thrill of each Yooyu flying
into the net begins anew once more.

Come one, come all and make some noise!
Raise your hands and raise your voice!
Get ready to make a big shout
And tell us what your team's all about!

Cheer for your favourites, let them hear
Your undying support loud and clear!
The Cup is nothing without its audience
With its team spirit so intense.

Pump your foam fingers into the air,
Wave your sparklers with extra flair.
The Yooyu's free, holler and yell
And hope your team does well.

Don't just sit there, jump up high
And shout your challenge to the sky!
The louder you scream, the better.
Don't be afraid to be a go-getter!

Make some noise with the Techo Fanatic,
Watch out; he can get rather frantic!
You probably don't want to sit too close,
Try backing up several more rows. 

The Altador Cup is a time of cheer,
The festivities come only once a year.
So go all out as you cry out loud,
And wave your team banner high and proud!

The Real MVP

In the summer sun, now,
When playing for the Cup,
The most important thing to do
Is always hydrate up!

Noise makers have water
(Their throats get extra dry),
Or soothing honeyed herbal tea,
I think we all know why!

On the field is similar,
With water thus on hand.
Between each goal they gulp it down,
Reviewing plays they’ve planned.

For many loyal fans,
The cup is incomplete
Without a slushie everyday
To help to beat the heat.

(Serving them’s a nightmare,
Or so we’ve all been told.
Impatient patrons, long lines, spills--
It’s bound to get quite old.)

We all need lots of water,
And maybe slushies too.
The Cup’s a long and gruelling sport
To play, or even view.

But since it’s such a grind,
I’ll take one other drink.
It may not help to hydrate much,
But well worth it, I think.

Slushies are iconic,
And water’s pretty keen,
But honestly, the real truth is,
The Cup runs on caffeine!

The Great Slushie Rush

I unlock the doors and what do I see?
Hungry customers all running towards me!
I slap on my apron and ready the slush,
All to prepare for the manic rush.

They all barrel in and stand in their lines,
The hungrier they grow, the larger their whines.
"Where are the slushies, we want them now!"
I hastily serve them before they all have a kau.

Slushies are flying every which way,
From morning to night, every single day.
As treats are slurped and cups are sent back,
Under the stress I never once crack.

For one month a year I work very hard,
Some people think I deserve an award!
Through the years I will never give up,
Because I love slinging slushies for the Altador Cup!

Chaotic Neutral

The Darigan Yooyu twists and turns
In any direction that it yearns 
To travel without rhyme or reason
All throughout the gaming season.

For players there’s no surprise
When in this Yooyu’s mischievous eyes
It deftly thwarts all thoughts of fun
As across the fields the forwards run.

In tandem chasing with their sling
Extended in their arms they bring
A hope that soon that they will see
The goal in mind to a degree.

And even to the Darigan team,
There’s plain to see a scheming gleam
In smiling eyes this Yooyu zooms!
To where? Not one here can assume.

Disorder incarnate is its game
With reputation to its name
Of a Yooyu here with no regrets
Chaotic neutral at its best.

Mom and Dad

Why must you be so difficult and stuff.
Mom, please keep my door shut,
I’m playing Neopets, please do not interrupt.

Neopets, Neopets?! What, what?!
You don’t have time for such a waste of your love.
We’ve got chores to do, and studying to do,
. . . . and this paint is drying, come see, quick, hurry up! 

But Mom, my team needs me, this year we want the Cup;
and my pets do need love;
after that maybe I’ll help you with the chores and study, pinky promise! 
Neopets has the best games on the web!

Neopets? Why don’t we play checkers instead?
Don’t you have another game to play where you can paint the town red?
Haven’t you got a book to read or something more productive than that? 
Learning, starting a business, or getting experience, like Mom and I’ve said.

Dad, I’m playing Yooyuball-but Kacheekers WOULD be fun;
I battle all the time in Neopets, my pets are all strong;
I get to play sports, like the Altador Cup;
and in Plushie Tycoon I get experience, see, this month, compared to last, my figures are all up!

I write news articles, and I get to work on art and other crafts.
I can practice taking care of a pet, grooming them, and feeding them, everything except giving them a real bath.
I learn all about the best games from casinos, and taxes, which would’ve helped you and Dad!
So, please just let me play Neopets, instead of watching TV, I’d rather feed a Kad!

His smirk strikes fear into all who see
With a laugh as monstrous as can be.
His special powers are just as frightening
While he moves around quick as lightning.

Once every year he reappears
And reminds us of our greatest fears.
Players around the world will cry
When forced to look him in the eye.

You gather your courage and your might
And ready yourself to begin the fight.
He stands before you, mere feet away
And makes you rethink your choice to play.

With a strong kick charged up high,
You hope the ball will truly fly.
But he's much quicker than you thought,
And your ball is so easily caught.

He stands there dressed in burning yellow,
And you hear his laugh begin to bellow.
He has defeated you once again.
The score is now zero to ten.

You approach the Chia and fall to your knees.
"Just let me score one goal please,
For the love of all things good and holy!"
You beg the Shootout Showdown goalie.

Altador Cup Blues

Slinging slushies all day,
Never goes my way.
Customers fuming, always mad,
Just trying to be an olympiad.

Shootout Showdown,
Far from a hoedown.
Jelly Chia keeps blocking me,
The crowd keeps mocking me.

They say to make some noise,

Last thing I need is Kikoughela,
I'm just too nice a fella. 

That brings us to Yooyu Ball,
Which will never be predictable.
