Ruki Day Special

The Chocolate Ruki Kit
by precious_katuch14

The Chocolate Ruki Kit,
A perfect Ruki Day treat.
Made of creamy chocolate
That tastes so sweet.

Why settle for candy
Simply bundled and sealed,
When you can have the fun
Of eating something you built?

The box has everything you need,
Ruki antennae, arms and head,
Legs, torso, and instructions
All so you can get ahead!

Attach the legs to the body,
Fix the head onto the neck.
Be precise, and be careful,
Lest your creation become a wreck!

Watch your Ruki take shape,
With your keen plan of attack,
As you follow the manual
And assemble your snack.

And behold! It is complete!
A chocolate Ruki upon your desk!
As long as you did everything right,
It shouldn't be a mess.

With your Chocolate Ruki,
You can enjoy Ruki Day,
With your new friend,
You can chase hunger away!

A Ruki and Dice
by 1337r3st0ck4

There is a game I enjoy playing,
It’s called Dice Escape.
A Ruki taught me the rules,
I’m hooked, can’t take a break!

I have to navigate a dice,
Through a particular maze.
The game starts easy,
But soon I’m in a daze.

There are coins to pick up,
And several stages to solve.
With my wit,
Each level I’ll resolve.

The Ruki seems pleased,
I’m on the final level.
Victory assured,
I soon begin to revel.

Up a few times, then a left,
I continue – up, left, down, left, up…
That’s it, I’ve done it!
Proud of my work I simply say, “Yup.”

The Ruki seems pleased,
As am I.
I smile back to my mentor,
Who asks, “Perhaps another try?”

Maraquan Rukis are Marvelous Swimmers
by _brainchild_

Maraquan Rukis are divine---
These lobsters really are quite fine.
They swim around in summer sun,
Which proves to be a lot of fun.

The salty ocean is their friend!
They shall manoeuvre to no end.
Their pincers fend off nasty pests
And capture prey, as one would guess.

The colours of the Ruki, grand,
Join well together, never bland.
Sweet burgundy and violet pair
With turquoise eyes, a lovely stare.

So, if you swim this summer, greet
The Rukis---they are fun to meet.
Watch out for pincers, but enjoy
These swimming buddies, never coy.

A Strange Celebration
by skatabo

The desert moon looms in the dark sky above
The endless, eternal sand dunes.
Forgotten kingdoms forever lie in wait,
Filled with treasures, secrets, and runes

But a stir has occurred in the depths of the sands,
And a strange celebration there flows.
But where? And why? The question remains,
As in all things, the desert, it knows.

Through burrowing tunnels, a wondrous maze,
That wriggles and writhes through the earth.
At the heart of the labyrinth is where you will find
A hearth full of joy and of mirth.

"The day's come at last!" they whisper with glee
As they skitter and pitter about.
The finishing touches are almost complete,
And the whispers will turn into shouts!

These creatures are like none other in our world,
And a rarer sight each passing season.
But today's not for tears! 'tis a day of good cheer!
And believe me, there's quite a good reason!

For today, you see, is a day of rebirth,
A day made to sing and to play.
A day celebrating our six-legged friends,
You've guessed it right, it's Ruki day!

A day full of song, of dance, and of mirth,
(and of course, there is plenty of food!)
There's games, there's glitter, everyone's all a-twitter
In a clamorous, glamorous mood!

The elders regale the crowd with their tales
To honour the Rukis of old.
And with a smile and a wave, they'll open their arms
To welcome new friends to the fold.

And as this fine day does draw to a close,
And the festival reaches its end,
The desert is silent, save the shriek of the wind.
The sand dunes stand guard overhead.

Ruki Limericks
by catchinglights

There once was a bandaged-up Ruki,
In the darkness he was quite spooky.
Some may be horrified,
By his body, mummified,
But he's really only just kooky!

There once was a Ruki from the sea,
With claws as sharp as can be.
Though on them she does totter,
When she's out of the water,
She'll always wave hi from the quay.

There once was a Ruki with two feet,
That many do not want to meet.
With his mandibles and glare,
He gives others quite a scare,
But this Ruki is actually quite sweet.

There once was a Ruki quite fine,
In a dress that is truly divine.
With her long flowing tresses,
She always impresses,
With her regal style design.

Meiadie the Red Ruki
by swordlilly

Slender-limbed and quick as a blink,
Meiadie flits through the grass,
Through the fields of flowers red and pink,
Right down to the stone-arched pass.

There she sits for a little while,
To feel the sun on her face.
Then she leaps on o'er the old turnstile
And enters the quietest place.

The gravestones stand tall left and right,
Guarding the souls of the dead.
Toward the tree with the patterned light,
Meiadie guides her slowing tread.

She places her armful of flowers down
On the mound where her mother sleeps,
And among the grasses green and brown
She talks a little, then gently weeps.

Then up again like a butterfly
She returns to the fading hills.
It's time again to say goodbye;
Life calls beyond the mills.

Tepuis of the Water Rukis
by miraday

The tepuis rise above Mystery Island—
Towering mesas closed off from Neopia.
Indigenous folklore speaks of Water Rukis
Who inhabit the mountaintop utopia.

The sheer palisades create a rainforest
Shrouded by a windward cloudy dome.
The rains pool in a pristine lake reflecting
The sky; a terrain that the Rukis call home.

The unique ecology of the plateau led to
The Rukis’ adaption to a form of fluid:
Their exoskeletons are one with the body
Of water that protects them atop tepuis.

Their abdomens are smoothed like stones
Underwater, their underwings become mist
Ushering them between high altitude shores
As they feed on their diet of lichens.

The remote tepuis of the Water Rukis remains
Intact, unspoiled by accelerated tourism
To the far reaches of Neopia. Well-meaning
Visitors are advised to appreciate from afar:

From the lowlands of Mystery Island,
We protect the biodiversity of the plateau
By preventing encroachment of the crag
That serves as Water Rukis’ home.

The Baby Ruki’s New Clothes
by itsmeclem1

There was once a Ruki with a Baby Paint Brush
Who took a trip down to the Rainbow Pool.
When he emerged, he looked at his reflection
And exclaimed, “Wow, this looks pretty cool!”

He loved his new shiny green shell,
His adorably large golden eyes,
His two little leaf-like antennae,
And best of all, his miniature size.

So he hurried back home to the closet,
Excited to customise his brand new look.
Only to discover – all the clothes were too big!
Staring at his small frame, a huge sigh he took.

“Don’t despair!” his siblings told him,
“I know something that you can do.
Head down to the Second Hand Shoppe.
The old Ruki will have nice clothes for you!”

So the Baby Ruki set off to the Shoppe
But as he entered, a horrid smell filled the air.
“What’s that?” he cried. The Shopkeeper sighed,
“That’ll be the piles and piles of dung over there.

That’s all this poor old Shoppe gets these days.
So I’m afraid we don’t have clothes quite so small.
But… I do know somewhere you’ll find your treasure.
Little one, have you heard of the NC Mall?”

At the Mall, the Baby Ruki was delighted to find
Endless choices of pretty Baby clothes galore!
There were pyjamas, tutus, playtime overalls,
An autumn leaf vest, a top hat and so much more!

But his favourite of all was the Hooded Faellie Blanket.
“In bright yellow, I think I look quite the catch!
I love how it makes me feel all snuggly and warm.
And I’ve even got the Faellie Plushie Friend to match!”

The Ship's Doctor
by trubiekatie

In the northern lands of Neopia,
Sits the mystical city of Shenkuu.
Cloaked in a shroud atop the clouds,
Abundant of things to see and do.

Sitting just beside the Lunar Temple,
Is a mighty ship that sails the sky.
Yes – you really did read that right,
This ship’s prime feature is no lie.

The famous Cyodrake’s Gaze, it’s called.
Known for its crew to set her sails.
A question of what happened to Hoban?
With the answer lying in the finer details.

On this fine Ruki Day, I toast to Anshu,
The Cyodrake’s Gaze doctor on board.
Now he runs his own Shenkuu shop,
And is known for his stamp hoard.

On the now infamous night of the storm,
Anshu was repairing a leak below deck.
The water was filling the Gaze to no end,
Almost causing the whole ship to wreck!

In the end, Anshu was not the culprit,
But instead, worried for his missing friend.
Working with Linae, Kentari and Orrin,
To find Hoban and find the happy end.

Little Steps in a Big World
by amethystcheshire

Unlike you and I,
The Ruki can get by,
In heatwaves and snowstorms alike,
Taking its time with treacherous hikes.

Past the Lost Desert dunes,
The Ruki recites strange runes.
Without breaking a sweat,
They bring forth a magical sunset.

Shenkuu is right next door,
So it's time to visit a little store.
A fellow Ruki called Anshu sells,
Cures that work better than spells.

Terror Mountain is far and distant.
But the Ruki here is very persistent.
Braving through the freezing cold
Facing the Snowager in hopes of gold.

Kreludor, Brightvale, Meridell,
Tyrannia, or Darigan Citadel.
There are many places a Ruki can go.
But for now this one's stuck in the snow.
