An Ode to Team Kiko Lake

The Altador Cup has come and gone
to return another year. 
While my team did its valiant best
we’re still left shedding a tear. 
For who gets the glory 
in this story
If it isn’t Kiko Lake.
The team who scrimps and saves
and steals and waits
for “donations” every day.
Events are random that is true
but when they strike I’m feeling blue.
Win or lose, a draw is fine too.
As long as Kiko Lake is at least #2.


But I guess I have to say…
HAPPY KIKO DAY!

Solar Fyre

Fast as a flare! 
Did you see him there?
A Kiko without compare
Cutting with haste through the air!

Solar Fyre made a deal.
At the time, it seemed a steal
For power did appeal.
A clause without repeal. 

Upon dotted line
Contract did he sign
Freedom he resigned
For magic sublime.

Ten years he toiled
For faerie spoiled.
Hopes of liberty foiled
With rage his blood boiled.

He remained steadfast
Until a decade passed
And he was freed at last
To now have a blast!

For the fastest Kiko of all,
Solar Fyre do they call!
Now that he's having a ball
Never will you see him fall!

The Mysterious Kiko Chocolatier

“Come visit my shop!”
Said a Kiko, with glee
“Is has the best chocolate, 
That you will ever see!”

“A kiko?!” I said, 
“But you come from a lake!
What kind of chocolate
Could you possibly make?”

“The best chocolate 
And other things sweet!”
The shopkeeper guessed,
“Are you looking for a treat?”

My sweet tooth spoke up
Much to my surprise,
“I’d be interested to know,
Do you have any bullseyes?”

“Bullseyes my friend! 
And so much more 
But you’ll never know
Unless you step into my store!”

With a tip of his tophat 
He opened the door
Recipes quite far 
From the kiko lake shore

My face pressed to a case
A rare buzz chocolate bar!
“Buy that one my friend
And you’ll get an avatar”

Walking out, I thought to myself
With a treat and avatar to go,
“That Kiko should throw a Ball,
He knows how to put on a show!”

A Tour of Kiko Lake

Take a tour of Kiko Lake,
It’s such a lovely place!
The pristine waters shimmer
And reflect your smiling face.

Stop in at the Carpenter’s
To check out his coral wares.
You might fancy a seaweed rug
Or buy a bubble chair!

Ride out upon a glass bottom boat,
They sail at 10 AM.
Check out the underwater homes
Such colourful hidden gems!

Now refill with a hearty snack
At Kiko Lake Treats shop.
Then test your luck at showing darts
Can you win Kiko Pop?

But as you leave this lovely place
Keep your pockets zipped up.
Kiko Lake Team is taking “donations”
For next year’s Altador Cup!

How do Kikos float?

How do Kikos float? It is
a never-ending question for me;
with no real, proper answer.
Do they have an air bladder, 
suspended; that lets them float
through both air and sea? Or does
their love of anything sweet
fuel their bouncy, bubbly, fun
propulsion, wherever they go? Is
it a matter of location? That
their Lake houses a magical
spell; hidden, unseen, and unheard?
Behind their laughing faces 
and constant happy smiles, is
a never-ending question;
that I will probably never know!

Kiko Lake will return

Kiko Lake was always number one
Kikos are great pets to keep
Me myself, I think they're sleek

Kiko Day is here again
Kiko Lake denied their reign
Kikos everywhere cried and grieved
Me myself I sighed, relieved

Kiko Day always a party
Kiko Lake taxes were never tardy
Kikos outfitted in their finest wear
Me myself, glad Altador Cup is over this year

Kiko Day was not the same
Kiko Lake hung their heads in shame
Kikos say next time they will show 'em
Me myself, next time will write more poems

Next time maybe give Kiko Lake a spin
As next time they're sure to win

A Kiko Day Feast!

Do you know how to celebrate
On the shores of kiko lake?
With snacks and treats aplenty;
bring cookies, candies, cakes!

Spread out the picnic blanket
Pass the kikotubes around.
Did you bring the kiko cola
to wash the nibbles down?

How about a piece of fruit?
We have kiko apples galore
Sure, they’re coated in candy
But you must have room for more!

Kikos have savoury treats as well-
Have a kiko popcorn ball.
But there’s still a lot of kiko lollies
And quite the taffy haul!

Once you’re stuffed with kiko treats
There’s one parting tidbit-
Be sure to go and brush your teeth
To avoid a dentist trip!

Kiko Match II on Kiko Day!

Pick two and ask, do they match? 
Nope, WRONG! You hear the buzzer
Time to choose another batch.

It’s Kiko Match number two
In the games room; but that you knew!
These pairs of kikos look the same,
But do you even know their names?

The yellow sad ones are Frank & Blake
Frank is sad because he dropped his shake,
Blake came to comfort his friend,
And his milkshake, too, met its end.

The angry blue ones are Pattie and Kathy
Mad at each other; they’re both rather catty
Kathy critiqued her good friend’s art,
Patti retaliated with an insult, straight to the heart.

Kikos normally have two band-aids,
But these orange ones are unusually hurt,
Esther and Hester were hurt while they played,
They both fell face-first into the dirt.

We could go on and introduce each pair,
But you should play yourself, let them share,
Since it’s the day to celebrate Kikos in all their glory.
