Summer in Neopia

Neopian summer's hectic,
Filled with fun pastimes eclectic.
Yooyuball and slushie slinging,
Making noise to set ears ringing,
Shootout showdowns with the goalie,
Scoring points steady and slowly.

When the Altador Cup closes,
Time to stop and smell the roses.
Flotsam, Ixi, Tuskaninny,
Kiko, Peophin, and Ruki—
Celebrate these species' pet days,
And soak in the warming sun rays!

Honour Meridell's discovery,
Maybe try on Jeran's livery,
Or try cheer up Skarl in some way.
Jump for joy for Blumaroo Day,
And discovery of Brightvale.
Compliment a Meerca's tall tail.

Buy a pass for Usukicon,
Cheer for Grundo liberty's dawn.
Freak out for the mutant mayhem,
Stay out till the early A.M.!
But once Kyrii Day has ended,
Summer turns to fall. How splendid!

Second Hand Shoppe

Take a walk out to the Neopian Plaza
And you’ll see a huge cardboard box
It’s actually a building full of hidden gems
Step inside, it’s the Second-Hand Shoppe!

A kind yellow Ruki is the only employee
Donning glasses and argyle sweater
He’s sorting through boxes of clothing donations
All day, no matter the weather

He has a simple yet noble goal
That all folks, the poor and the rich
Deserve to have clothes that they like
That’s it, that’s his sales pitch!

Got an old shirt that just isn’t your style?
Or a dress that is so last year?
Clean out everything that doesn’t spark joy
Let your closet be fresh and clear

Take your unwanted clothes to that Ruki
And exchange them for something more fun!
But oh, just be careful where you step
Someone’s donated a pile of dung!

A Krawk Island Summer Vacation

Where can you spend your summer
And ensure that it's no bummer?
Look no further than the sands
Of swashbuckling Krawk Island!

The sun smiles down from the sky,
Sending summer's light from on high.
The sea breeze is suddenly quite warm,
But really, it's no cause for alarm.

The sea is inviting this time of year,
The sea shanties seem to have more cheer.
Weewoos call and the Quadrapuses play,
While Blurtles laze the day away.

Warf Wharf is abuzz with activity,
There's so much to do, so much to see!
And when the town is just a bit much,
Head to the shore for a picnic lunch!

Summer is good for a treasure hunt,
Dig up some dubloons, all in good fun.
Just beware the ominous Smugglers' Cove,
Truly a most dangerous treasure trove.

End your day at the Golden Dubloon,
Better hurry, the dinner rush is soon.
Have some grog, Keel Haul, or a Man o War
As you watch the sunset from the bar.

Krawk Island truly is your destination
For an exciting, swashbuckling vacation!

Damsel in Distress

She wakes alone in her cage
A cage so cold and empty 
Trapped in by someone once called a friend
She now begins to question her safety

Hearing small muffles of noise beginning a trend
One by one the chorus of cries begins
A grumble from her own stomach with no end
She cannot remember her last meal

The wall of cries begins to echo against the metal walls
Her stomach turns from the hunger
Her eyes well up as she begins to bawl
She yearns for an  Deluxe Peophin Burger

Louder and louder with no end in sight
Her lungs scream in exhaust
Her cries yell out for just one bite
Just when all hope is lost 
She spots a bright light

Young Neopians’ running to save the day?
Her prince charming arrives, she can’t help but purr
He smiles politely with an inventory of Gourmet
There in his bag, an Deluxe Peophin Burger!

Her prince coming forth with a noble rescue
Placing the burger at her feet, she begins to feast
Her day begins to brighten as she chews
The hunger in her belly cease 

With every Kadoatie will full guts
Silence in the Kadoatery for another Twenty-eight minutes.

A Sonnet for Tomos

In the land where the sun is always up,
And the hot weather never ceased,
Among the older thieves in land,
A young Lupe has risen up.

More agile than a grownup,
Working by himself among the sand.
Then an Ixi named Nabile joined the band,
And a new partnership showed up.

Two minds alike and thinking the same:
"If we use our skills on the best ways,
This land will be just a small start!"

Then Nabile's marriage came,
And who once were great allies,
Saw their partnership fall apart.

On Roo Island, where luck can’t be beat.

When I arrive, there are people already in queue.

Hoping for neopoints or a prize so nice.

You might get lucky and win a small pot,
But get too greedy, and it’s all for nought.
If you roll that sinister skull die at any time,
To the next level, you will not climb.

A circle means nothing will happen to you,
Good or bad, your game will continue.
A question mark will lead to a random outcome,
Maybe the Pant Devil will strike, that scum!

But a silver money bag die, and you’re in the clear,
Although if you’re King Roo, you might have some fear.
With that, the jackpot is yours to claim,
And now like King Roo, you’ll have your own fame.

Summer at Mystery Island

Let's go and celebrate this summer,
Mystery Island this year of course,
The sounds of Pteri's flying by,
Island market filled with noise,

Let's gather at the Tiki Tours,
Grass skirts swaying away,
Techo Mountain the sight to behold,
Volleyballs high in the air,

Let's explore one last time,
Fortunes at the Island Mystic's hut,
Underwater Chef passing by,
The Techo Master training hard,

Let's rest at the beach,
While pulling Tomola tickets,
Appriberries in our hands,
And finally dance away into the sunset.

The Summer Festival

The summer is here and with it, good cheer!
Laughter and merriment soon will be near!
A fair for the harvest time filled with great joy,
The magic abounds for each girl and boy.

The farmers bring bountiful bushels to show
A contest to see which marrow did grow
The largest and ripest in all of the land
Few Neopian spectacles are quite so grand.

Stands line the streets with fruits to be sold
Peaches that taste like 12-karat gold.
Berries aplenty all baked into pies
With strudels and cakes, a feast for the eyes.

Families all scurry with hurried ease.
The smell of treats wafts in the breeze.
Beyond them, the merchants sell their best wares,
Claiming that none in this world can compare.

The Meridell carnival for summer-fare,
With tents pitched above, they have not a care.
For even in rain, in wind, or in storm,
This festival tarries away in fine form.

Melons for sale during sweltering heat.
In the bright, summer sun it cannot be beat.
Would you care for a glass or maybe three?
Of fresh marrow juice that's sure to bring glee.

The Meridell summer, a fine time of year!
Full of merriment, bliss, and good cheer.

crusted into earth, weighted from
gravitas of misty shrouds and clock cycling
bordered with polished checkerboard and gold nameplates.

Brown primaries, gritty dust ivory
singing tinkling nostalgia rhythm
of marching Tyrannian Grarrls and Chombies.

Nearby stamps, footsteps ground
into sketchbook hole punched.
Delicate spiderweb leaves, furrowed brow of veins
traced in sediment, rest.

All of this:
a full history,
books written then read, reread
wrapped in leather.

The bookkeeper, a flurry of wings and pensive daffodil,
creaking on stilt legs, talons tapping and pattering
to percussion of rattling bones, crusted forb samples, stuffed glass jars,
this Tyrannian memory.
