Kaus In Green Pastures

How I adore the cute little Kau;
Such a gentle, loving creature!
With two little horns and stripes all around,
Her large, soulful eyes her greatest feature.

I love to watch her graze
In pastures green and lush.
Nibbling here and nibbling there;
Faerie bean plants her jaws do crush.

And late at night when it's time for sleep,
You may hear the gentle strains
Of Kaus softly singing lullabies
Across the lonesome plains.

They'll softly sing, "Mooooooo,"
Under the starlit skies.
It is such a lovely melody
That it may bring tears to your eyes.

And in the morn when the Kaus awake
They'll begin to play;
Running across those fields so green
As they greet the brand new day.

The Kau is such a wonderful pet;
It's sad to always see them roam.
Do they really like to wander
Or are they just looking for a good home?

The Need to be Painted

When I adopted my red Kau
She was a plain old red
She asked me why
She couldn't be Faerie instead

I showed her the cost
Of a Faerie paint brush
I said, "There's lots of time to earn one,
What's your big rush?"

"Because Damiensevil's been painted
A bright electric blue
Lanikai's painted
Even Storm_Cloud is too!"

My heart felt heavy
To see her so sad.
That's how I knew she wanted
To be painted real bad.

So I searched and I searched
And finally found
A cheap morphing potion
Lying right on the ground.

She was super excited
Over what I had found
When I opened the top,
She just gulped it right down!

Her fur started to change
From a dark burgundy red
To a light sky blue with
Little pink stripes instead!

When it was all over
She stood there looking dazed
But when I saw her new look
I was utterly amazed.

She looked down at her hooves
And her eyes started to tear
Then she looked up at me
And grinned from ear to ear

"Thank you!" she said
"I'm so beautiful now!
Won't everyone be jealous
That I'm now a Striped Kau?"

I apologized to her
For not making her Faerie
She just brushed it off
And said, "Thank you for caring!"

Kaus may not be the most popular of pets
But with their wonderful traits,
They're surely the best
So Kau owners around, today you delight
Love them, spoil them, and hug your Kaus tight!

There are many kitchen-challenged Neopets
Who would never touch a hairnet
But there is one pet who could cap all the rest
It's Lily the Kau, it's cooking she does best

Being the gracious Kau that she is
She's willing to tell us all the secret of cooking-biz
"There's one recipe that's the apple of my eye,
And that's the one and only Kau Pie!

First you add the filling to the crust
It's quite easy to find, and for the pie it's a must.
Simply roam the lands of Neopia far and wide,
Through all the dirt you must sift
And sooner or later you will find
A freshly laid Kau gift.

Now a pie without topping, is easily incomplete
Just add a bag of flies,
To make the pie a worthy treat.
But why stop here?
There's so many more toppings near.

Yank some grass from just beyond the thicket
Sprinkle some of this on top; that's the ticket
Or maybe add some dandelions,
They're a useful weed
Then again a nice substitute is fresh Kau feed.

Now just pop it in the oven
Soon it will be your pie,
That everyone will be lovin'
The sweet fragrance will soon be drifting
It gives me the chills it's so uplifting!"
