JUBJUB DAY SPECIAL

A JubJub Piper Muffin
By Anjie

A tasty treat was called for,
And the cupboard shelves were bare.
I looked and looked to no avail,
The food just wasn't there.
It was, perchance, now JubJub day,
I sought a tasty treat.
Something suited to the theme,
That would be rather sweet.

My stomach rumbled as I headed
Out to seek my snack.
I would find my JubJub sweet treat,
Or wouldn't soon come back!
The bakery did loom ahead,
My hunger soon did grow.
There I saw it, what I sought,
Within that bright window.

A muffin, that was just the thing!
It seemed to call my name.
"I am the end to hunger pangs!"
It loudly did proclaim.
A funny shape, like JubJub form,
So seemed this tasty treat.
Moulded sitting, musical,
The pipe between his feet.

I bought the snack and hastened home,
My stomach grumbled loud.
"I won't try it 'til after tea!"
I sensibly had vowed.
Though through my dinner I confess,
I heard the faintest song.
Spooked I checked the muffin first,
But knew I must be wrong.

I cleaned up after dinner quick,
But heard the song once more.
But when I glanced to my small treat,
The tune stopped as before.
Again I looked away, you know,
And song did start so soft.
I grabbed the muffin, checked it close,
Then held it high aloft.

I couldn't bring myself to snack
On JubJub muffin now.
Something odd was going on,
I don't know why or how.
Each time I turned my back on it,
The magic song did play.
Something odd was going on,
Snacks don't behave that way!

The next day I went into town
And took the muffin back.
Explained the issue, left in haste,
Now rid of spooky snack!
The sound of JubJub's haunting song
Had brought me to the brink.
But try one soon, it's rather safe,
It's just a snack... I think.

A JubJub's Lament
By Larkspurlane

Round, puffy, and absurd --
The JubJub, confused frequently with
Objects inanimate, with Fuzzles of
Descriptions various, with dust bunnies,
Lint, Doglefoxes having a bad hair day.

Life is, quite frankly, a fight for survival --
Clenched lips, teeth set hard, frowning
Brows and narrowed eyes, the question
Every morning being,
How does one eat when one
Does not have hands?

A JubJub is nothing if not hearty,
Courageous and spirited in the face
Of this daily adversity -- and so with
Good grace, and surprising flexibility,
The furball, the Fuzzle, the sphere of
Bipedal lint, uses his feet, six toes,
And wiggly powers, to grasp a spoon
And a fork, and a dish of plenty,
And defy the laws of physics and
Especially gravity, and eat his fill
Despite improbable anatomy.

Bennie the Jub, Redeemed
By Rosabellk

Bennie the Jub is an odd little fellow:
Before Krawley's potion, he was really quite mellow.
But now he's ferocious, cantankerous, mean.
With his four brawny arms, he's a sight to be seen.
When Sophie and Bruno (with Gilly in tow)
Tried to lift the town's spell, Bennie said "No.
You've caused enough suffering. It ends now.
You will pay for your misdeeds, and this I avow."
His purple fur gleams 'neath Neovia's moon;
He fights with the strength of an entire platoon.
Sophie's magic is hardly a match for the brute,
And all Bruno's strength is practically moot.
Bennie tosses our heroes around like rag dolls;
He lifts up whole buildings as if 'twere banal.
He flexes his arms and he grins a broad grin:
He's stoking the fires of anger within.
His feet drum a tattoo on the cobblestone road
As he picks up a boulder, a cumbersome load.
The JubJub prepares now to hurl it at Gilly.
His eyes are emotionless, darkened, and chilly.
But now there's a pause: he considers the pet
Cowering before him. He feels some regret.
This small, helpless Usul's just trying to help.
He starts now to pity this defenseless whelp.
He lowers the boulder, his demeanour now gentle.
Bennie is actually feeling sentimental.
He offers a hand to the Usul in truce,
As if to atone for his former abuse.
She takes it and smiles; a bond has been formed.
Gilly's grin makes Bennie's heart feel warmed.
The JubJub retreats now, returns to the dark,
And in leaving just utters one quiet remark:
"Good luck, little Usul, restoring our town.
Since I was transformed, a perpetual frown
Has been placed on my face; but now I'm redeemed.
You showed me hope that I never had dreamed.
So please, lift the curse. I'll fight you no more.
I'll be rid of these legs and these arms. Yes, all four."
And so Bennie strides off and returns to the trees,
With a bit of a tremble knocking his knees.
If the future seems bleak, you still have to grope:
As Bennie found out, there always is hope.

Duel Bazuka
By Iloenchen

Green hairband tight around his head,
Brown colour smeared into his fur;
Duel blends into the background,
Just a green spot, just a small blur.

The JubJub does work as a soldier,
Stealth has always been his greatest skill.
No matter what you want him to do,
Tell him 'bout it and succeed he will.

Neopia's grassland is his favourite place
To sneak through in the midst of the night.
He knows the grassland very well,
To pass through it he needs no light.

A Lupe walks along a path,
He's the commander's target tonight,
The JubJub waits for him to come close,
Then jumps out, gives the Lupe a fright.

The fight is over very quickly,
Almost before it has begun,
Duel Bazuka got what he wanted,
Is happy 'bout the information he won.

At times, when a random pet walks by,
Commander JubJub likes to hand out
A few arrows he doesn't need right now
On his mission as a scout.

So when you walk through Neopia
And cross its beautiful grassland,
A soldier JubJub might watch you,
Waiting to act out his command.

Yoris Obbles of Team Meridell
By Precious_katuch14

"Welcome to our team," greeted Windelle.
"Novice you may be, but I think you'll do well."

Yoris steps up to the net
Amidst cheers of the crowd
Focus is key; he's got it
Despite the audience loud.

He waits with bated breath
While adorned in red and blue
Until that first Yooyu
Blazes in, swift and true.

A scream from the fans,
A pass from Ilsa to Fiorina,
The Yooyu make a graceful arc
As it travels near and far.

Now it swerves toward him
And he watches it fly
Before stopping its flight
With a grin quite sly.

Everyone goes wild
An excellent block!
Nothing gets past Yoris
Unyielding as a rock.

This JubJub returns fire
And the game continues
Sceptics shed their doubts
About this goalkeeper new.

Hail Yoris Obbles of Meridell!
Rookie of the Year; he did do well.

The JubJub Engineer
By Natural

In a lab so dark and drear,
Where hard work will hold no fear,
Observing tools through grim veneer
sits a JubJub engineer.

Sockets, rockets, plugs, and wires
Are his engineer's desires.
Never ceases, never tires
does the JubJub engineer.

Any wire that he welds
In his feet so tightly held,
To repair he is compelled,
so says the JubJub engineer.

Glasses glowing in the gloom
His drill a-buzzing through the room,
The night the sun will soon consume
for the JubJub engineer.

Only when the sun climbs higher
does the engineer retire
and another night expire
for the JubJub engineer.

The life he's chosen is severe
But he really is sincere
That there's no better career
for a JubJub engineer.

The JubJub Performer
By Sonybug222

Crowds fall silent as JubJub passes,
Basket hanging at his side.
Within the woven container
The angry Cobrall sighs.

At perfect spot he sets mat down,
Apprentices in a rush.
As the lid is moved and Cobrall appears,
The crowds fall to a hush.

The JubJub knows the risk he takes,
Yet still he plays the flute.
At first the Cobrall shrieks with rage
But then his hisses mute.

The tune the JubJub plays so well
Has Cobrall in a trance.
Continuing the melodic song,
Performer takes his stance.

Cobrall sways from side to side,
Completely under control.
The performer sets his flute down,
Knowing his next role.

As JubJub approaches sleeping snake,
The crowds cry out in dread.
The performer takes no heed of this
As he kisses Cobrall's head.

Still the Cobrall's fast asleep,
As he is put away.
The JubJub leaves the awestruck crowd,
Making this an exciting JubJub Day.

Tiki Tour Guide
By Concertogreat_8

The Tiki Tour Guide
Is a little JubJub of brown inclination
And a smile painted wide,
To give the tourists citation
On how he's honest as the tide.

Troublesomely, though, I confess,
Look closely; the Tour sign actually reads,
"For your money I'll give you less."
Many misread and follow false leads,
And this causes quite a large mess.

The Tiki Tour Guide is small and round;
He looks suspiciously like a coconut,
And yet, we have it from authority sound:
(Thus I must absolutely be a loco-nut),
He is indeed a JubJub, a tiny brown mound.

I think the Guide must be 'in the can,'
Or head-in-head, cohorts, so to speak,
With the infamous Tiki Tack Tombola Man;
Soon enough, there'll be an information leak,
The innocent white has become quite tan.

The Tiki Tack Man always has a look,
He leers in a frightening funk,
All the while trying to bait the hook,
And get you to buy cheap plastic junk,
To support his Tombola schmook.

My theory is that they
(Tour Guide and Tombola Guy)
Know each other, friends, say,
Tombola Man and Co., oh my,
Don't say you weren't warned today.

Ode to the Shop Wizard
By Legiit

From faeries like Illusen
Through victors of Heroes' Hall
There lies a forgotten idol
A JubJub that trumps them all.

A billowing cape of midnight,
A hat of the deepest blue,
Round eyes shimmering indigo,
Gold fur coat of every hue.

With arcana bested by none
And magic envied by all,
Powers like a raging river,
Armour like an iron wall.

He scours the land and oceans
In search of all shops and stores,
Probing every nook and cranny,
Forever he seeks out more.

And when in need of an item,
He'll transport you to the shop,
Cheapest prices for his clients,
Cut-rate bargains on the top.

The wizard toils day and night,
Performing deed after deed,
For this grandmaster is selfless,
Working for the public need.

So my fellow friends and readers,
Praise the heroes of the old,
But forget not this JubJub king
The greatest wizard ever told.

The Garlic JubJub
By Dragonstorm_75

Oh, 'tis a woe most foul,
When one can make another howl.
Not of joy and not of pain,
But of a smell, most insane!

Glares fall whenever I walked,
Courtesy was gone and others gawked,
Not at my big orange feet,
But at my head, shaped like a beet!

Changed into garlic was I,
Greenish white, I could not deny.
But with good indeed comes bad,
Thus with a smell was I onerously clad.

My friends turned away,
And my thoughts did turn astray,
But there still lay a hope,
An air freshener? Nope.

All I need to do is wait,
Until the ray does pulsate.
Then my reek will disappear,
Unless I don't change, what a fear!

But I will... won't I?
