Robot Yooyu, glowing bright,
Lightening our darkened night.
With shining sides, our polished gem
Will help us win our fight with them.
Oh, glorious Petpet, aid our cause;
Our work with you can have no pause.
And with your speedy aid include
Some brightness 'fore our interlude.
Your tiny fuse requires haste
If your small form we will not waste,
Yet spread this warning to your lot:
Some don't aim 'fore taking their shot.

A Tribute to the Altador Cup

There is great excitement in the air;
Flocks of Neopets head to stare
Open-mouthed at the game
Where winning is the player's aim.

Neopets have flags waving in their hands,
Supporting their teams and their lands,
Shouting and cheering them on
Till their voices are completely gone.

There are so many games to play,
A different outcome each day.
Make Some Noise and Yooyuball;
None of the teams want to take the fall.

All the players train so much
With all of their strategies, tactics, and such.
Scoring at Shootout Showdown and Slushie Slinger,
At the bottom, nobody wants to linger.

Always aiming for a high score,
Above everyone else each team wants to soar,
Never losing their determination,
Always ready to represent their nation.

All the supporters are so dedicated,
None of them believe that they are fated
To lose any kind of match --
Those fans are a strong batch.

Different colours representing each team,
A feeling of competition can definitely be seen.
The Altador Cup is a fantastic event;
All of our boredom it shall surely prevent.

The Thrill of Victory

3... 2... 1!
The Yooyu is released.
The excitement and the adrenaline starts.
Fans are cheering and screaming,
All of them wanting their own team to win.

Rushing forward only to be stopped by an opponent,
Faking to the left, only to turn to the right.
Yooyu comes hurtling forward from a teammate.
Desperately running forward,
Trying to pass to an open player.

Oh no!
The Yooyu is lost in a crowd of feet,
Only to emerge within an enemy's grasp.
Trying to get within range to reclaim it,
Only to watch despairingly as the other team scores.

Don't give up yet.
Victory is still possible.
Game restarts and bodies swarm toward the Yooyu,
A player from your team emerges victoriously,
Passing it with blinding speed to you.

Hurry!
Now the pressure is on.
Evading enemies from the left and the right,
Hurtling past defenders,
You throw with hope in your heart.

The crowd and your team cheer,
For you've made the goal.
Relief and anxiety bind your heart.
Both teams are equal for now,
And there's only a minute left to make the difference.

This is the final clash!
The Yooyu is centred one last time.
The opposite team gains the Yooyu first,
Only to be intercepted by one of your own.
Propelling the Yooyu toward the other team's goal.

Closing your eyes
And crossing your fingers
At the sound of the whistle.
You slowly open them to hear,
Cries of victory and shouts of loss.

Yes!
The Yooyu made it into the net.
You bask in the thrill and happiness in winning.
Though the war has not yet been won,
This battle was a victory.

The Altador Cup

The trumpets blare and crowds cheer,
and once again, Yooyus appear.
Through the skies, the creatures soar
behind the walls of Altador.

Upon the field, the fated teams
with vigour try to meet their dreams.
The hope they get when they're next up
to fight for the gold cup.

The snow Yooyu shoots to Timu
as the home team plays to subdue,
But they're the Kiko Poke Cellers's prey,
but Darigan wins with Vickles in play.

Faerie Captain Kakoni cracks
the ball, but has to face the facts,
that Virtupets' Striker 3.8
is, well, frankly far too great.

And from the Woods comes Krell Vitor.
When it comes to goals, he goes for more
and more and more and more and more
...'til Pirate Soley's on the floor.

The Desert's Heggle, Kreludor's Kevix,
Shenkuu's Phu, and Maraqua's Plessix,
Meridell's Windell, the Mountain's Kroe,
Loryche from Tyrannia's Plateau.

It certainly is no brief fairy tale
How Mystery's Volgoth beat Roo's Fenny Vail.
All of these teams are undoubtedly strong;
It's amazing they could go on for so long.

Soon enough all the Neopians will learn
who is the winner and who will earn
the Altador Cup and all of the fame,
Just then, a blue Techo comes up to proclaim,

"In the end, it won't matter. It's all the same!
All in all, it's just for the fun of the game!"

The Amazing Teams of the Altador Cup

Altador,
a team that has not done its best,
blames its milennial rest.
Too bad for them,
other teams put them to the test.

Faerieland,
A team trying desperately to win.
They move players around and even then
they leave with feelings of chagrin,
hoping to play games over again.

Darigan,
Once so high and great
has a seventh-place fate.
Whether they will get better is a debate;
hopefully they don't improve too late.

Haunted Woods,
The team continues to slide,
and down is where it will glide.
Let's hope they bet better in stride,
so that the team can have some pride.

Kreludor,
After missing a year they surprised us all,
placing sixth with skills in Yooyuball.
Let's hope they win this year's brawl,
or the team's smiles will sadly fall.

Krawk Island
Has done pretty well getting in fourth place.
But not this year: they are in the chase.
They may end up with grins on their face;
Otherwise they would feel a disgrace.

Shenkuu,
Most think they will win,
but don't know which team will begin.
Based on how the team has been,
Shenkuu players will each wear a grin.

Lost Desert,
This team is promising, the team to beat.
All onlookers will be on the edge of their seat
when the really good teams bring on the heat.
Will this team end in defeat?

Maraqua,
Yooyuball isn't their thing.
But there is a favourite in their first-string,
Dorina Hals makes the fans sing,
because it's not skills, it's heart they bring.

Meridell,
This team's Rookie won the prize
and may bring the team some proper advice.
It may be that this team will become wise
and if they win it will be a surprise!

Mystery Island,
Their offence can't defeat those who are very good,
But an awesome winning team could.
However, don't get them misunderstood,
they place all right, just like they should.

Roo Island,
They are trying to win it all,
but are they good enough at Yooyuball?
The winners may stand tall
and the losers will sadly fall.

Terror Mountain,
This team is dressed in snow gear,
although it is warm this part of the year.
Terror Mountain has placed in the rear,
making it hard for fans to cheer.

Tyrannia,
Their fans love to make slushies,
so they win that game with ease.
The fans that watch them play say, "Please!"
and hope for all the losing to cease.

Virtupets,
They finished horribly the year before,
but now they are increasing their score.
Watching their team is no longer a bore,
since everyone wants to see what's in store.

Kiko Lake,
Last year, they didn't make it to compete,
but that doesn't mean this year will end in defeat.
Actually, it might be sort of sweet
Since they have new players on their feet.
