QUIGGLE DAY SPECIAL
The Quiggle Hero
By Anjie
Chaos darkened angry skies,
There waged a vicious war.
An endless match of light and dark,
Like never seen before.
Amidst the danger he alone
Would run the gauntlet fast.
Dodging danger, fleet of foot,
The arrows sweeping past.
Message clutched so nervously,
No courage did he lack.
"Arrows in the air are good,
Better than in the back!"
Meridell would be a mess,
Without his rapid speed.
Only he could warn the troops,
His only chance? Succeed.
Darigan and Meridell,
Did battle to the end.
Bravest Quiggle, messenger,
The soldier's firmest friend.
From trench to trench he would make haste,
When all seemed lost and stark.
A tiny figure, sign of hope,
Would run through war so dark.

Quinton's Song
By Brilliance109p
The day was new, unspoilt,
Like polished jewel it shone,
Dappled light did paint the world,
And mark the start of dawn.
Out in the light of golden sun
The Health Food Quiggle said,
"Lovely, lovely, healthy food!
Fruit and grain and veg!
"My sales are sure to rise today
As Neopians realise
That healthy food, it is the way
To live a wholesome life!
"Turnips, carrots, broccoli,
A bottle of Vitamin C,
Sprout wrap, beetroot, lettuce too,
And even Black Eyed Peas.
"Radish, basil, calcium,
Organic is the way to go,
Say goodbye to chips and sweets,
To health food: say HELLO!
"Why tuck in to mincemeat pies?
Have a Veggie Burger instead!
Granola Bars and Lentil Soup,
Peaches, beans, and bread!"
The moon peeped out quite shyly,
Like polished jewel it shone,
Silver light did paint the world,
Quinton suppressed a yawn...
Inside a tree-like kiosk,
A Health Food Quiggle dreams
Of Neopia, a healthier place,
Asleep among his greens.

Flycatcher
By Dragonstorm_75
'Twas early morning, the sun was hardly seen,
When the Quiggle did wake up to go to the pond.
He didn't seek to fish in the waters so pristine;
He didn't wish to bathe, of which he was so fond.
He sought to feed not on vegetables or fruits,
But on tasty flies, with wings like coloured glass.
He walked up to the lily pads, passed by their roots.
Right up to the pond, lit by sun to shine like brass.
The Quiggle did prepare, the day was rather young,
And there, behold! A swarm appeared in a cloud!
In seconds he was there, or rather his fleshy tongue!
Darting through hordes, the pond they did enshroud.
Swish! Flash! In seconds there were few!
The flies did fall to the Quiggle's deadly aim!
As pink as his body and as shiny as the dew,
Many a fly did the swift tongue claim!
But wait, what's this? The buzzing of a bee?
There does a stinger shine, it may hurt our friend!
So what does he do, does he run and be stinger free?
No, he simply stops, and his tongue he does unbend!
In a flash bee is gone, the Quiggle is quite replete.
The swarm is gone, departed from the crystal pond,
He leaves the swarm for another day, quite a feat.
Or maybe until lunch?

The Monotonous Quiggle
By Icesmith
Years may pass, no one does know,
All gaze towards the wheel,
Wishing for it to stop, an end to the drab,
No such luck, it continues to flow endlessly.
Yearning for excitement, the crowd does stir,
Waiting for the Wheel of Monotony to halt,
Wasted time spent on needless lethargy,
Nearer to a state of sleep, boredom creeps.
Dull yells surround the plaza,
Away with depression their mind floats,
Welcoming the end of this torturous phase,
Needless to say, the Quiggle remains put.
Yellowing eyes, he stares, mind blank,
Anguished at the job he has occupied,
Wanting no more than to escape Tyrannia,
Never to spin the wheel once more.
Youth and old do hate the passing time,
Annoyed no more than the Quiggle himself,
Wraths of hate growing inside his mind,
Needles of boredom and spite do spurt.

Welcome to My Adventure
By Iloenchen
Purple cape wrapped around his body,
Green eyes staring straight at you,
Hands raised high above his head,
Lightning makes for a great view.
He's a mighty wizard, fear him,
Borri likes to scare those who come
To create their Neo Adventure,
Even if what they do is not dumb.
The red Quiggle laughs out loud,
As a Buzz startles, fear in his eyes.
"Come on, play, I will not hurt you,
At least not if I'm bribed with flies."
Borri raises his hand and mumbles
A few words, you can barely hear them.
Lightning flashes above his head,
"Come on and play this little gem."
With those words he redirects you
To a Neo Adventure he does like.
He watches over all of them,
Hundreds, different and yet much alike.
Nobody knows as much as Borri,
Nobody is as powerful as him;
When it comes to Neo Adventures,
He'll give his opinion on a whim.

To a Quiguki Collector
By Jayo289
Waving your Quiggle Quiguki flag,
It flaps in the wind, looking proud.
Quigukis are your passion, a rare sight,
Let everyone know; scream out loud.
A different Quiguki for all of the year,
Green goes well with every season.
Unblinking eyes stare onward still,
Everything boxed, nothing is broken.
A pretty Valentine Quiguki all pink and cute,
Frills, ribbons, and bows galore.
Perfectly displayed at the start of each year,
For sadness, it's the perfect cure.
Easter Bunny Quiguki bounces on the spot,
Covered in pink and whiskers poking out.
A lopsided ear falls to one side,
Plastic Neggs strewn all about.
The Pirate Quiguki perfect for fun,
Holding his pirate sword so strong.
An eye-patch neatly over one eye,
A sloppy smile that seems so long.
Summer Fun Quiguki out at the beach,
Out to relax with a bucket and spade.
A flower atop its little green head,
Staying still even as the sun doth fade.
Scratchcard Wocky Quiguki in for some games,
A warm fur coat for the full icy effect.
Winter is here, it fits in well,
You want its coat -- a nice v-neck.
A Queen Fyora Quiguki, just what you want,
Finally your collection is complete.
A beautiful tiara and flowing violet locks,
Its glittering wings never looked so sweet.
A full collection, what a wonderful sight,
Everything is finished, everything is green.
Their smile is bright, and yours is too,
You and your Quigukis, so pristine.

Simplicity
By Larkspurlane
I spend my days near a small brook
Just south of the Haunted Woods.
There the water chuckles night and day,
Friendly company in woodland solitude.
And below me is earth, above me crowns of trees,
Shadowy branches all around, where light
Rarely makes its brazen presence known,
A deep wood, a chuckling brook,
And me -- a Quiggle of green
Learning the mysteries
Of the forest's night-time whispers, the dance
Of shadows under moonlight,
Raindrops leaping
From leaf to leaf.
Only a green Quiggle, but wiser for it --
Not distracted by the worldly absurdities
Of the royal, the vacuous insipidity
Of the faerie, the haunted yearning
Of the ghost, or the heroic aspirations
Of the Quiguki. Just green --
Just green and full
Of knowledge, just green and connected
With every splash of every drop,
With every stray wisp of sun,
With the heartbeat of the night breeze,
The brook, the trees,
The pulse of life as it beats,
Raindrops leaping
From leaf to leaf.

The Purveyor of Healthy Foods
By Mamasimios
Quinton Quiggle in his smartly pressed smock
Runs the Neopian Health Foods shop.
He would happily sell you some Organic Slop,
But please don't ask him for sugary candy.
He'll offer you Artichoke and Onion Surprise,
Mixed Fruit Noodles, and Chomby Pies,
Even tempt you with a Cheesy Courgette Slice,
To him these foods are fine and dandy.
He says, "How about a Cauliflower Shake?
For a birthday, why not an Acara Cabbage Cake?
I'd even recommend a few boxes of Koi Flakes.
Won't you buy some nice healthy food?
I have Jelly Covered Greycorns, Cabbage Quiche,
Veggie Lasagna, and Black Eyed Peas,
Cone-shaped Lemons and Kiwi Cookies,
I promise they will do you good."
But wise Quinton knows what his customers eat
And sells Broccoli with Sprinkles for a treat.
Chocolate Covered Cabbage is salubrious yet sweet,
And to the kids he'll give a Chomby Leafy Lollypop.
Concerned only with Neopians' welfare,
Quinton Quiggle does junk food forswear
And commits himself to solely prepare
The healthiest of dishes for his food shop.

To the Maitre D', from Me
By Precious_katuch14
"Please have a seat, madam, and enjoy our fare,
Courses so exquisite that none can compare."
You smile at me and show me to my table
As if I am a celebrity famous and fabled!
You proffer your menu, a gilded, fancy thing.
"Madam, I assure you we have everything."
I scan the items, all in beautiful curving script
From Apple Rigamaroll to Welsh Rarebit!
"Take your time; I shall stay here and wait,
But I recommend the Caramel Chia Parfait.
We have chocolate coated cheese, all kinds,
I'm getting ahead of myself, I hope you don't mind!"
You curl your mustache as I make my request
And write it down, penmanship far from a mess.
With a little bow, you exit toward the kitchen
Holding yourself higher than those snooty Neopians.
You work hard everyday at the Gourmet Club,
Serving both benevolent icons and elite snobs.
In your tidy tuxedo, constantly on your toes
You've seen all restaurant-related highs and lows.
Hello once again, Maitre D', and thank you
For bringing my appetiser, main course, and soup.
If it's all right for me to ask, kind sir, I say,
Don't you think you deserve a vacation day?
You smile your cordial Quiggle smile yet again.
"I've thought of the matter every now and then.
But I love the Gourmet Club and catering to all,
And getting rid of uninvited peasants who call!"

To Borri, the Neoadventure Generator Spotlight Quiggle
By Rosabellk
Borri the Quiggle is out of a job;
The N.A.G. spotlight is through.
"No more Neo Adventures!" he says with a sob,
"Oh, what is a wizard to do?"
The fireball blazing upon his right hand
Now dims to a fizzling glow.
He once had the word at his mighty command,
But lately the business was slow.
His plum-purple cape slips from off of his back;
He slumps over, as in defeat.
He hadn't the power to pick up the slack,
Standards the submissions don't meet.
Borri cleans out his office and packs up his things;
He bids his fair spotlight goodbye.
Adventures of heroes and damsels and kings,
Of legends and mysteries and pie:
No more will they grace New Features front page
Or be celebrated with trophies.
"It isn't fair!" says this poor red Quiggle mage.
"I wanted to write one 'bout Sophie
And Bruno and Gilly! But now that is through.
The spotlight is running no more."
The sad wizard frowns; he's feeling quite blue.
He trudges now out of the door.
But cheer up, dear Borri! It isn't all bad,
Just 'cause now the spotlight is done.
Just think of the wonderful times we all had,
The excitement, the wonder, the fun.
Just because no more spotlights will be handed out
Doesn't mean there's no joy in the world.
Just think, little Borri, I beg you, about
The new stories still to be unfurled.
