Phantom of Maraqua

Crystalline the soothing sea,
The rippling patterns slow.
Vast and endless without hint
Of what dwells deep below.

Serpentine his motions are,
So silent does he sail.
Guided by extended claws,
And flicking cobalt tail.

The rainbow reef a haven safe,
A color dappled place.
A vision as he drifts along,
Soon vanished without trace.

Phantom sunlight trickles down,
And traces dark blue form,
Luminous the ocean now,
The currents soft and warm.

A maze for him, those ancient rocks,
That rest on ocean floor.
A playground safe from prying eyes,
And far from sandy shore.

Maraqua looms far to the north,
Secure, such a place.
The ocean has its own time line,
And moves at idle pace.

Guardian of living reef,
And keeper of the sea.
Spared from turmoil up above,
Within his realm, he's free.

A Hint of Summer
The Festival of Buzz

Now, in the Month of Sleeping
We hold the festival of Buzz,
To remind us all of the summer to come
And the summer that once was.

This cold and dreary time of year,
We celebrate a species
That thrives on warmth and tigersquash fruit,
And summer's gentle breezes.

The baby Buzz are born now
While snow is on the ground,
And as the days are lengthening
Their wings will sprout unbound,

Until such time as winter's fled
And summer at last is here
When full grown Buzz gaily fly
In skies brilliant and clear.

So celebrate with us my friend,
This festival of Buzz!
Let winter dreams of summer schemes
Be our delightful cause!

The Buzz Avenger

I am a fleeting shadow
Straying from the path of moonlight,
A mere flutter of wings
Piercing the silence of the night.

I am two bright red eyes
Seeking what is amiss,
A hungry forsaken soul
Craving for justice.

I am a brilliant, wily mind
Plotting, scheming against evil
A stalwart yet stone heart
Attacking when all is still.

I am a burst of lightning speed
Soaring this and that way
My strong, sharp claws
Keeping intruders at bay.

I am here yet I am not
As I fade into the night,
I am alive but I am dead
As I continue to fight.

I am here to protect you,
My identity unknown,
I am your savior
Who'll forever be alone.

The Darigan Buzz Cometh

Upon the floating citadel,
In the dead of gloomy night,
Low dull buzzing reverberates
Through thick walls and up your spine.

Behold, the Darigan Buzz cometh,
A dreadful nightmare personified,
Its penetrating crimson stare
Inspires most to flee in fright.

Around the wretched land it flits,
With deceiving dainty purple wings,
And agile movement sharply swift,
Manoeuvering in the sullen mist.

But most of all, watch out for its
Pointed fearsome venomous sting,
A weapon lethal in its strength
Gives aching pang most cannot bear.

Hide; take shelter for he is near,
Heralded by a humming sound,
This minion will give mercy none
To Darigan's most threatening foes.
