Usuki fans young and old,
Hope that their luck will hold.

Without starting a brawl,

What new Usukis will we see?
Perhaps one based on Atsumi?
New clothing and styles,
Make fans come from miles,
To get the latest Usuki.

Finally the shopkeeper's arms raise,
Voices fall silent as all gaze.
The dolls are out,
With a scream and shout,
To kick off this year's Usuki craze!

for all the Usuls and Quiggles here,
Usukicon bright and full of cheer
where many beautiful dolls make a premiere.

Many booths line collectors box packed aisles
staffed by vendors in vintage outfits,
bright young Blumaroos with broad smiles
listen as an all-Usul band sings their biggest hit:

'Do you remember when we were kids
trying on our Usuki Perfect Nail Sets,
heavy lashes and bright purple eyelids
on each and every one of our Neopets?'

Air dense with cotton candy scented perfume,
you might just while away a hundred hours
in your handmade Summer Fun Usuki costume
with your coiled hair donned with flowers.

The Usukiland shopkeeper takes the stage,
unveiling this year's new doll to our delight:
a Baby Usuki Doll to make the crowd rampage
and snatch up every last one insight.

Before you know it, the day's gone past
and you've spent more than you planned
on a mint Usuki Dream Throne. At last,
you head home, the happiest Neopian in the land.

can be exhausting, so pro tip:

Lucie the Usuki Collector

“Come on Lucie, it’s time to get a move on,”
“We wanted to leave before the crack of dawn.”
Her parents were chasing her to quickly pack up,
Doing one finally house sweep before lockup.

Lucie was finally attending the convention you see,
The annual festival held near the Money Tree.
But Lucie wasn’t ready to go, not quite yet anyway.
She needed to decide what Usuki dolls would stay!

She just loved all her Usukis so much,
With one or two nearby, ready to clutch.
To name a favourite was a tall order;
Her parents think Lucie is a Usuki hoarder.

She loved her Hula Girl and Ballerina Usukis,
Normally one under each arm, two friends to squeeze.
 Both of them would need to be packed on the trip;
She held them both tightly with an armoured grip.

Lucie would pack several matching sets,
With some left behind, that caused her regrets.
Time for the convention – and to buy some more,
“Have some buying restraint Lucie – we simply implore!”

The Two of Us at UsukiCon

Smiling faces all around us – 
some plastic, some flesh or fur – 
some paws in owners’ hands, 
some dolls in pets’ arms. 
Two young acaras rush by, 
holding a doll each aloft towards the sky,
laughing and dropping pieces 
of a story that floats 
towards my ears. Nova and I have waited 
for today, excited 

just to smile 
in the same room as all these pretty things. 
We have waited two hours 
in the hallway outside the room, 
even though we know 
we may not leave 

with anything new. 
We talk to the kacheek in line in front of us 
and their owner, compare wishlists 
and quietly envy 
their budget. But just looking 
at all the colourful dolls is worth 
the wait, and seeing the smile that it brings 
to Nova’s face. 

Perhaps we’ll be spending 
some hard-earned neopoints 
here, after all.

For miles you can hear
loud cheers for the doll
coveted by most pets
and loved by all. 
The Usuki Convention
is one of those events
where the mood’s infectious
though it may not make sense
Truly, I’m not the type to go
shopping the whole day
(As long as my pets
are happy, I’m okay.)
On UsukiCon though,
I awake early and go
to at least know and see
what new Usukis
will bring my pets glee.

This poor Usuki cannot blink.
It’s WAY too energized!

Its furry ears are quivering,
In tandem with its head.
This poor Usuki will not drink
A cup of juice instead.

It’s quite addicted to its mug
Of caffeinated brew.
Our poor Usuki is a wretch,
An addict, through and through!

Please cuddle this quite woeful toy!
It’s skittish, so beware!
It’s nervous, tense and jittery.
It needs your love and care!
