Twenty Two Years of Neopets

Twenty-two fun years since this all begun:
Fifty site events, fifty-five types of Neopets,
One hundred and twelve unique colours and
Four hundred and ninety-nine petpets!

Neopia introduced its twenty lands and
Produced one hundred and fifteen shops
Protected by the Defenders of Neopia
Twenty-two times and always on top.

Time really flies when you’re having fun.
We’ve grown our community to millions
And grown up together with neofriends
With a page views passing a trillion.

Countless contests curated our interests:
Writing, artwork, random and poetry. 
Some users pursued business models,
Stock markets and dabbled in coding.

Our Neopets continue to accompany us
As Neopia has become more accessible:
The place of our childhood is now mobile,
And nostalgia is always multidimensional.

Our neofriends are our neofamilies, and
Through the ages, our community persists.
Twenty-two years and twenty-two candles
Lit to celebrate a Happy Birthday, Neopets!

My Neopet Memories

I first came to Neopia,
When I was eight or nine,
And my eyes where bright,
Learning the Neopets site.

My first neopet friend,
A Zafara in green,
Together we explored the Neopia,
To see all that could be seen.

The Lair of the Beast,
Made me jump out of my seat,
While going to Mystery Island,
Got me collecting Bottles of Sand.

I remember the battle for Meridell,
And Lord Darigan plans we did quell,
But I did not quite understand the Battledome,
On the sidelines we spent our time,
Cheering while our friends squished spiders in record time.

My favourite game was Wack-A-Kass,
And getting the avatar was a blast!
Then completing Edna's Quests,
Until she told me to get out in a shout!

New plots came in,
The Curse of Maraqua,
And 
The Tale of Woe,
My favourites still to this day.

I recall saving up my neopoints,
To buy a secret map,
To change my neopet with a single zap,
With my points all gone,
Back to the Soup Kitchen where I belonged.

With recalling some of these memories,
Let me take a moment to say,
Thank you Neopets for always being there,
For always having something new to explore,
Avatars to collect,
And new neopets to love.

The friends we’ve made, and the memories we’ve created are all thanks to you.
For so many of us, Neopia has become our home.
There is no other place we’d rather roam.

From the tippy top of Terror Mountain,
to the beautiful ripples of the Rainbow Fountain.
It’s safe to say there’s no place we’d rather be,
getting to hang out with our pets on the daily.

So while the faeries are dancing,
and the petpets are prancing,
Be sure to take a moment to remember this day
as it’s so special in every single way.

We know for sure that Neopets has made history.
This, my friend, is definitely no mystery.
But we also know that there is so much more to come,
And it has been an honour to see where it all started from.

So hip, hip, hooray!
It’s Neopets day!
But what can I say,

Time is but a Pteri's flight 
betwixt the moon and sun.
Come the dawn of one day's death
the next one is begun.

How dreary, dull, exhausting would it be
If time a-wingèd stayed aloft without

Those in its talons would but burn right out.

Now, therefore we celebrate
E'er on schedule, once a year,
Occasions that do call for cake,
