Gnorbu Shearing Day Special

Gnorbu Hues
by precious_katuch14

The Gnorbu has many fun looks
Some straight from storybooks,
Others that don't seem real,
Still others that'd be a steal.

Consider the Faerie Gnorbu.
Can he fly? He just flew!
Chocolate, with a mane of cream,
Biscuit, a crunchy, sweet dream.

Darigan Gnorbu's got spikes.
Mutant makes you say, "Yikes!"
Make way for the Royal Boy's train,
(Hopefully he's not a royal pain.)

Silver Gnorbu, shiny and bright,
Glowing Gnorbu lights up your night.
Woodland Gnorbu, blooming in season,
Disco Gnorbu, getting his groove on!

For a shaggy look, go Tyrannian.
Electric, for shocking blue and cyan.
The Fire Gnorbu is always aflame,
Royalgirl Gnorbu knows her fame.

When you can't decide on a colour,
The Rainbow Gnorbu's got them all!
Or pick no colour, only lines,
Sketch Gnorbu will suit you fine.

Fluffy Cloud, gloomy Grey,
Shadow and Spotted and Pirate,
Dark Wraith and soft Plushie,
Desert, Dimensional, and Zombie!

And as the sun sets on Gnorbu Day,
Eventide Gnorbu will guide your way.
So little time, so many Gnorbus,
That's all for my poem of Gnorbu Hues!

The Softest Gnorbu
by dessent

There once was a Gnorbu,
so soft to the touch
You could never quite imagine,
ones fur as gentle as such.

Among many forests,
throughout hundreds of villages,
One could never be compared,
to be as soft as this Gnorbu.

So proud was he,
knowing that among many others,
His fleece stayed memorable,
to those across the lands and seas.

There once was a Gnorbu,
so soft to the touch
You could never quite imagine,
that his fur was truly as gentle as such.

A Gnorbu’s Ascent
by flufflepuff

Perhaps it was rebellion
Against diplomacy
And dresses that would hamper speed,
Yoked with nobility.

Perhaps it was that, long ago,
A Pteri overhead
Had taught her that another path
Could be sought out instead.

Perhaps it was within her veins,
Long before she'd know
Her destiny would be to climb,
And up and up she'd go.

In any case, Terrana soars,
Creating space betwixt
Herself and lowly land, as well
As expectations fixed

Upon her early as the dawn.
With trusty grappling hook,
The Gnorbu scales, a dot of green
To all who upward look.

Terrana's goal is higher still:
The stalwart mounts of old
Do not compare with open skies
Who beckons all the bold.

Her progress shan't be linear;
No progress is at all.
E'en so, the princess can't be stopped,
Not even when she falls.

A Gnorbu’s Only Fear
by meepit_poo

What strange little critters, such smart little fibbers
They claim to be brave, yet fear being shaved

That’s right, these woolly little friends like to truly pretend
That they are strong and full of wool, and are not quite some fools

Gnorbus will always have your back, never crack during an attack!
But don’t you dare bust out the shears unless you’re prepared to comfort all their fears

For once the threat of a shave is near, you’d best not interfere
There is no stopping a gnorbu once they are in a fright
Unless you’re ready to put up a fight

So, my dear friends, what have we learned?
If you come across a big fluffy gnorbu, it’s best to leave them undisturbed.

Hug a Gnorbu
by breakeven

Gnorbus are fluffy,
With wool white as snow,
Careful now, don’t pat them,
They might let their horns show.

They gather in herds,
Idling in the meadows,
What are they dreaming of?
I guess we will never know.

They nibble on grass,
A dewy leaf, a good chew,
But their favourite is definitely
A sumptuous vegetable stew!

The next time you see them,
Hand them some stew,
Then you might get to hug,
A gnorbu or two.

The Bald Gnorbu
by konnigiwa_hi

It’s shearing day!
It’s shearing day!
Hurrah for all things balding day!
Gnorbu’s cheered,
Smiling up to their ears,
But no Gnorbu smiled wider,
Than Barthalmu,
The Balding Gnorbu,
For on this day,
Everyone looked like him!

Terrana - Gnorbu Princess
by skatabo

On a quiet and grey morning,
A Naleap sings her lament.
Below her, a young warrior,
Begins her great ascent.

She takes her rope and hook in hand,
And eyes the mountain's peak.
It's there the young princess will find,
What all among us seek.

With a mighty leap, she disappears,
No fanfare nor applause.
Naught but one dreamer, strong and true,
Devoted to her cause.

She glides through every leaf and branch,
An Eyrie on the wing.
She feels the cool wind on her face,
She hears the Naleap sing.

The green gives way to rocky grey,
The mountain looms above.
Each step a lesson, forged in stone,
Each leap a work of love.

She feels the bite of winter's chill,
The shimmer of the ice.
One misstep here could be her last,
Each swing, she rolls the dice.

And as she nears that frigid peak,
Her heart begins to soar.
Within her burns a white-hot flame,
That heats her to her core.

The mountain's summit greets her with,
A gentle snowy breeze.
Gazing in wonder at the stars,
She sinks down to her knees.

The heavens shine down overhead,
Her climb comes to a close.
Closing her eyes, she drifts in thought.
The Naleap finds repose.

The Ways We Cut
by cloverdewlou

watch the way
strands curl
around metal
like mist
lurking through
blades of grass
silver teeth
grazing skin
dividing
and pulling
fur from meat

watch the way
we tug at knots
imperfect
between fingers
we sheer
a Gnorbu's past
in chunks
and knots

watch the way
we make room
for new
what we cut
grows again
from roots
to strands
and back again

A Gnorbu
by skimaga

It is once again that time of year,
the dreaded day approaches near;
Yes - soon, too soon, in fact -
all Gnorbu will be sheared.

The shivers I have felt,
ah, I'd much rather just melt;
Thoughts of my furless, bare pelt,
have heightened my Shearing Day fears.

What would Captain Tuan be, without his beard?
Not a very stunning Gnorbu, I hear.
And Igneot of Moltara, with his burning mane,
If it's shaved, will it come back again?

Yes, this year, I do feel blue,
To call myself a Gnorbu -
For my coat, I've not yet outgrew,
And I just bought this shampoo!

Just see it from my view -
My cries are strong, it's true.
I speak for my friends, it's true;
your shearing decisions need review.

So, consider my begs and pleas -
you know not what it's like to feel this breeze!
My coat and mane are free of fleas,
This shave is unnecessary; even Queen Fyora sees!

Shearing Day Has Come Again
by kerd2006

Shearing day has come again
as it does each year
Gnorbus gather from far and wide
for trims from ear to rear

As weather turns away from cold
their wool cranks up the heat
clippers come out from the drawer
to shave them clean and neat

Speckled, Pastel, and even Fire
They’ll all be shorn at last
No Rainbow Pool colour gets left behind
No, not even Swamp Gas

Sheared and fleeceless, it gets a bit chilly
One might feel cold and dismayed
Fear not, fair Gnorbus, there’s still hope yet
It will all grow back the next day!
