Techo Day Special!

The Techo Says Game
by indulgences

Beware the game called “Techo Says”!
It’s maddening as heck.
The game will test your memory.
Your brain will be a wreck!

You’ll have to memorize the pets
That bounce so gleefully.
They disappear with instant haste.
You barely even see!

You then click on the holes from which
The pets did jump up from.
By later levels, this is hard.
Your patience might succumb!

This game is sorely taxing, and
Despite its charming looks,
This game will stress you out so much.
This game will leave you shook!

Beware the game called “Techo Says”!
It’s difficult and tough.
This game will leave you quite unnerved.
It’s problematic stuff!

A Techo's Lament
by hello_emilee

Opening the heavy blue door to his office, he sighs,
He's met with hundreds of blinking and glowing yellow eyes.
So many pets that have been forgotten and left,
Abandoned by their owners who couldn't care if they were dead.
Day in and day out, work is always the same.
So solemn and monotonous, it's really such a shame.
"How could anyone abandon their beloved pet?"
Dr_Death wonders as he shuffles toward his empty desk.
The endless days in his office have dampened his dreams;
Life was once so bright and cheery, now that's not at all what it seems.
Running his hands through his wild gray hair,
He imagines a world where all of these cages are bare.
If all lonely pets were adopted, what would he do?
The Neopian Pound, he could finally bid adieu.
Relax on the shores of Krawk Island, soak up the sun,
Pay a visit to Faerieland and watch the poogles run.
There are so many things he wishes he could see,
But at the abandonment rate, that simply cannot be.
Most techos are seizing the day and enjoying their lives,
But Dr_Death sits surrounded by the same glowing yellow eyes.

A Tremendously Pretty Techo Plushie
by _brainchild_

I prance into the Plushie Store
In search of a friend I'll adore.
My other toy is all worn out—
I need one anew, no doubt.

I'm faced with quite a myriad
Of pretty plushies, all so rad.
Should I choose a Blue Usul
Or another oh so cool?

Yet the one that calls my name
Is the reason why I came.
The Baby Techo Plushie boasts
Cuteness much grander than most!

I pick up the little fellow
And admire his felt so mellow.
I know he's the one for me—
I squeeze my new pal with glee!

I pay for him and bring him home.
I'm enthralled— he's really so
Adorable and handsome, too.
I cherish my plushie anew.

Bug Eye McGee
by larkspurlane

Poor Bug Eye McGee,
Who could love a creature so ugly?
He’s creepy and hunched,
Pants all in a bunch,
Weak-chinned, thin-skinned,
Bandana poorly pinned!

He’ll seek Treasure Maps to the last,
Skin as green as a chloroplast,
Roaming Krawk Island
A well-meaning fiend,
Creep-crawling along
From dusk till dawn,
Leering and jeering
Till treasure starts appearing!

If he shivers your timbers
Don’t cry him a river --
Tell him it’s rude to stare
With his a buggy glare,
Tell him you don’t have a Map,
So could he please carry on,
There’s a good chap,
And leave you in peace,
Please Bug Eye, cease!

The Buzzer Game Techo
by azienskieth

Slowly...
Patience...
Almost...

BZZZZZZ!!

The Techo laughs to himself.
"You must be more patient! Focus on the task!"

You steel yourself up.
Patience this time...
Slowly...
Intense focus...
You can do it...

BZZZZZZ!!

The Techo shakes his head.
"One more try. Focus this time."

One last time.
Veerrryyy slooowwww...
Slow and steady...
Patience is key...
Laser focus...
This is it...
Almost there...

...

BZZZZZZ!!

Velm the Techo
by tanikagillam

The sun shone into the little hut,
A burning golden glow.
He sat by the window, gazing at the sky,
As the sand outside shifts constantly so.

He twirled his staff absentmindedly,
While the sandstorm raged strong.
He was all alone, he felt so lost,
For some company did he long.

Velm the Techo, his bright red skin,
Was waiting for what seemed like forever.
Alone in the Desert, when could he leave?
He thought it would surely be never.

Days became months, months became years,
Oh how he longed to leave that place.
He was drifting, waiting for something,
And someone to put the smile back on his face.

His magic was rusty, his reactions slow,
He didn’t even look up when they came in.
But he heard them, he felt them,
And they soon took notice of him.

He joined their quest, he felt anew!
As he leapt up off his seat.
He ran away with them, and never looked back,
For he had some monsters to defeat!

The Buzzer Game
by a_ramsell

The Island Techo calmly watches
As you step up to play his game.
You're ready to take on this challenge
To earn some prestige and fame.

You pick up the wand, line up the hoop;
And then the game really begins.
You breeze through the first two rounds,
Not fazed one bit by anything.

But wait! What's this? You almost lose
When that silly Techo pulls a face!
You grit your teeth in determination,
Ignoring the distractions taking place.

Despite the pesky Techo's efforts,
You maintain your intense focus.
The Techo starts tossing fruits around
And you hardly even notice.

After what feels like several hours,
You reach the final level.
You take a calming breath,
Trying to get your nerves to settle.

The Techo watches quietly
And blinks those yellow eyes.
You do your best to tune him out;
You've got your eye on the prize.

You pick up the wand one final time,
And guide the hoop carefully
Around each twist and bend and turn,
Your hand moving quite steadily.

Suddenly, that obnoxious Techo
Sticks out his tongue and laughs!
You jump, then ear a buzzing sound.
You look up at him, aghast.

The aggravating Techo grins
And cheerily waves you away.
You stalk off, fuming, and tell yourself
You'll best that Techo some other day.

Why I Cannot Join Your Techo Day Celebrations
by terukiyo

Though I wish you a happy Techo Day,
Pardon me while I flinch:
My fear of Techos began with that game
You all claimed was a cinch.

For hours on end I grasped a wire loop
In a palm soaked in sweat,
Eyes staring hard at the black-on-black wire
My loop at times -- no! -- met.

BUZZ the shock travels through my fingertips,
Then up and down my spine.
I don't know if the wire's electrified
(Wouldn't that be a crime?!).

One morning I arrived with steady hands
To win this untimed race.
Three stages in, the Techo's slimy tongue
Darted out of his face!

His eyes glowed red; he shook fruit from his trees.
Strange sounds flooded my ears.
My fingers cramped, my wrist cracked like concrete,
The BUZZ... would end my fears.

I won't tell you how it ended that day
(Life's more than a trophy).
But you'd know if you saw me: In a way,
The BUZZ is still in me.

Lieutenant Velm Reports for Duty
by kayahtik

This Techo is the fourth and final member
Of a widely renowned crew
It’s a story all Neopians remember, how
Lieutenant Velm carried his comrades through

No virus could ever stand a chance
Against this healer and his magical staff
With just one wave he breaks the trance
And his party cuts the monster’s HP in half

Through the Desert, Woods, and Faerie City
Lieutenant Velm never lets his crew down
Sometimes it’s a close call when things get gritty
But there’s usually enough healing to go around

Lieutenant Velm takes on several roles
Back on the ship, he’s an expert in defense
Always confident at his panel of controls
Even when dire circumstances make things tense

Deserving role model and trustworthy peer, plus
One of Captain Rohane’s most loyal deputies
Lieutenant Velm will always be remembered thus
As the brave techo reporting for duty
