ACARA DAY SPECIAL

Party, Acara Style
By Sugarypixiestix2

Acaras have begun leaping their way into the water
as gracefully as the sea.
No matter what colour or size,
they have all come to celebrate with much glee.
Princess Fernypoo has even arrived
to dive into the depths for this day.
Also the giggling baby Acaras
decided to perform a wondrous play.
So while they all gather one by one
to this underwater spot,
some can only wonder from above
what things will come from such a giddy plot.
Delicious hors d'oeuvres are being served
with care by the famous cafe kelp,
which every Acara knows is the best place to go
if you're in need of recipe help.
Such bright lights, fresh flowers, and colourful
balloons cover the deep sandy floor.
A smiling green Acara nods to the band to
start the music as he closes the pearly stadium door.
All the land dwellers try and peer down from
the shore to see what mysterious sights can be seen.
Sadly, only the faint view of a Hikalaka's guitar
was revealed in the sunshine's gleam.
Oh, what an amazing celebration awaits them!
That is the single thing we all surely can know.
Don't you wish you could go?

Fernypoo's Best Acara Day
By Iridaceous

Bejewelled crown upon her head
Encrusted with finest gems,
A majestic figure sits atop her throne,
Marble floor tickled by dress's hems.
Silky voice demands attention,
Accompanied by flashing eyes.
"It's Acara Day tomorrow!
Plan a big party surprise!"

Hustle and bustle all afternoon,
The castle buzzes with motion.
Fernypoo glares and snaps:
"The party needs your full devotion!
This just isn't good enough!
Why is the cake so small?
It must have layers of white icing,
And be ten tiers tall!"

Bright dusk slips into night
As the fiery sun melts into earth.
Fernypoo retires to deep slumber,
Anticipating the following day's mirth.
As dawn bathes Neopia with light
The Acara greets the morn.
Vain as always, she grooms,
Finding a dress with which to be adorned.

A vision in silken violet,
Floating down the stairs:
The princess awaits awed sighs
And guests' envious stares...
But no sound comes from the hall!
Indeed, the room is empty.
There are fancy plates and seats,
But no guests -- there should be plenty!

The poor Acara throws a fit.
"Where is everyone?!
It's Acara Day today,
And they've ruined all the fun!"
Gloomy as a storm-cast day,
The princess steps outside.
And sees her friends in a grimy pool!
She can't believe her eyes.

"Why aren't you at my party?!" she screeches.
"Why are you all out here?"
A friendly yellow Acara replies,
"Go get your swimming gear!
We can swim all day long,
It will be great -- you'll see!"
"Me? Swim in a grotty pool?"
Fernypoo is as haughty as can be.

To her great alarm,
The others push her in!
She splutters with cold fury
But finds she quite likes swimmin'.
They spend the day racing and splashing.
"You know, this ain't half bad!"
Fernypoo exclaims in joyous tone.
"This is the best Acara Day I've ever had!"

A Flower For Lucy
By Anjie

Coral pink, the petals wilt,
Yet blossom shall not fade.
What vital clue in tale of woe,
Hath charming flower played?
Given to Acara nurse,
Fair Lucy, brave and sweet.
Victim of a plot so dark,
A mystery, incomplete.

Meepit Oaks was no dream job,
Yet Lucy soldiered on.
Tending inmates, doing chores,
Even when hope was gone.
Neovia took a fall from grace,
And all would plummet down.
Chaos reigned at Meepit Oaks,
And nightmares filled the town.

Despair and fear filled Lucy's heart,
She wrote each journal page.
Of inmates angry and confused,
So full of wrath and rage.
That blossom given as a gift,
From stranger most bizarre.
Within the darkness at the Oaks,
It seemed a gleaming star.

Each petal glowed in Lucy's paws,
With softest coral gleam.
As chaos raged around the nurse,
She still could hope and dream.
The story meets a woeful end,
Things went from bad to worse.
The gleaming blossom still remains,
But not Acara Nurse.

Masila's Choice
By Cookybananas324

Two paths stood before Masila cruel,
Should she follow her heart, or seek power to rule?

On one hand stood the chance to make a friend,
The other, to meet her own wicked ends.

The Acara pauses, weighing both options,
Then returns to her subtle manipulations.

Perhaps both? To rule beside brave Kanrik?
But no -- the plan has failed. She tries another trick.

And now, a final option stands today --
Should she stand by him, or should she betray?

Betrayal, then, and choose to stand alone,
But grant his life, the only mercy shown.

Masila, Mistress of the Double Cross,
Has chosen power, but what has she lost?

Fire in the Sky
By Wicked_summer

Sighting down the barrel, trying
Not to remember brighter days of
Bygone years. Brighter? No.
If she looks back, all she sees is dark night and pain.

And loneliness. And ruthlessness.
The world forced her to fight. But.
But it was she who surrounded herself
With a heart of stone, made herself invincible.

And so very, very vulnerable. So very,
Very alone. Ylana Skyfire sights down the barrel,
And forces herself not to remember. She is getting
Better at it, better at looking ahead, not behind at the creeping mists.

She is getting better.
After all, she practises shooting every day.
And with every day, a little piece of her past
Disappears into the mist.
