FLOTSAM DAY SPECIAL
Swim Along, Finned Ones
By Iridaceous
Autumn hues set into sea
As dawn touches sky.
Sun casts glow to shining fins,
As shadows glide right by.
Swim along, finned ones,
Wake to morning's call...
Beneath the water's surface,
With grace and spirit and identical grin,
Swims many a nimble Flotsam:
Strong strokes of tail and fin.
Swim along, finned ones,
Dance to tide's rhythm...
Majestic Flotsams, lead the way,
To treasured harmony.
Down into the indigo depths,
To a city in the sea.
Swim along, finned ones,
Sway to eternal peace...
Open gates to Maraqua,
Vast watery pastures to roam.
Beauty, wisdom, and mystery,
A Flotsam's perfect home.
Sing along, finned ones,
To Maraqua's enchantment.

Flotsam Hunters
By Doopingla
On island far away a tale is told
Of hunters brave and true to the end.
Of Flotsam hunters, helping the island old,
They dost find a tiny fishy friend.
On island far away is said
The hunters dost find Petpets for the Rock Pool.
Needed are thy courage and thy brain in head;
Thou must not be a fool.
On island far away there is lore,
The hunters dost search the ocean wide.
Cruising the ocean to every shore,
Flotsam hunters take the waves for a ride.
On island far away is believed,
Flotsam hunters dost bring the Petpets back.
Lonesome owners without Petpets are relieved,
For Flotsam hunters bring what the Neopets lack.
On island far away is thought,
Flotsam hunters dost work without break.
Only one day, a day that is sought,
On that day alone, a break they dost take.
On island far away is known,
Flotsam hunters dost celebrate their day.
The pool is left empty of Petpets and quite alone,
For the Flotsam hunters are now at play.
On island far away is spoken,
Of Flotsam hunter traditions on their special day.
Of traditions left unbroken,
Of Flotsam hunters playing games, they say.
On island far away they cheer,
Flotsam hunters brave and smart!
Their job has helped Neopia for a year,
But now they must part.
On island far away tradition is this,
Flotsam hunters dost leave for one day alone.
Their friends they dost truly miss,
But when their day is done they shall come home.
On island far away they say,
Happy Flotsam Day!

Space Flotsam
By Wicked_summer
(Dancer in the currents.
Solar winds so fast.)
A shadow moves, ripples.
Not so much a shadow, as
An absence of light --
Where sunlight falls dead.
(Dreamer of a new age.
Haunted by her past.)
Swift and sleek, not strong,
But subtle. Eyes glow with cunning,
Every line, every fin made for speed,
For dancing, dancing in the currents.
(Companion of the stars.
Alone except for them.)
The Void is vast, so huge,
So empty. Light travels like
It would through water. Cutting.
A line of gold stretching from the horizon.
(Traveller to new worlds.
Born to judge and to condemn.)
And on that line, around it.
Through and over, looping,
Following the light by some instinct.
She is alone, but she can dance.
(Dancer in the currents.
Solar winds so free.)

The Flotsam Fleet
By Anjie
A prehistoric army waits,
An ancient land, intense.
In times of chaos do they call,
For ocean-based defence.
Strategic genius, so they say,
A legend, word has spread!
For those who fight Tyrannia,
It's Plesio they dread.
A Flotsam Captain, proud and true,
A sailor so elite.
No foe dares to sail past,
The might of Flotsam's fleet.
The leader of the ocean-bound,
And though the job is hard,
Tyrannia is safe from war,
While Plesio's on guard.
Commanding fleet of massive force,
He rules with strength and drive.
A call from Town Hall and he's off,
And swimming with a dive.
Flicking fins in perfect time,
The foe lacks time to think.
Captain shifting through the waves,
His massive fleet in sync.
No battle shall he shy back from,
This Flotsam, oh so brave.
A legend of Tyrannia,
A force on each huge wave.

Flotsam Thief
By Concertogreat_8
In the dead of night, the door of the house,
It opens. Swinging inward so quietly, nary a whisper
Do you hear. And in creeps a soul without making
A noise; silently he comes.
Red eyes in the darkness, and white body slinking
Clumsily, he looks, but in reality, not.
Next morning, in the dust on the floor, no footprints
Will be seen; not monstrous strange; he leaves none.
Flotsam, whence he came, from the ocean,
I do believe; and leaves the traces in salty grime,
Upon the paneled-wood walls it sticks.
How he climbed to land, one knows not, but
Sneakily, surely, he moves, such a clever mind
Ticks behind those glowing eyes.
Slithering along, one fin reaches out. Your faerie
Doll is gone, into his sack as he snaps it shut.
One room to the next, easy as pie, snickering a bit,
Silly pets, who think they've got it locked
Up and traps set for robbers, but those with feet.
They'll never catch the ones with flippers.
Away he slips, as if he'd never been. In and out,
Door's latched; fins are made for such a thing as
Can't be done with paws or claws.
And in his sack your dearest things, all gone.
Back down the waterfront, and into the ocean,
And away he swims, with all your things.
Flotsam Thief, gone with the tide.
