Fishing Jetsam Gnome
By Anjie
Where the ocean meets the dock,
The waves sing merry song.
There he sits, the Jetsam gnome,
Gone fishin', all day long.
Patience painted on his face,
He seeks the perfect catch.
That fish might sense the bait he set,
And to his line attach.
Fins clutch fishing rod, serene,
The hours drift on by.
Jetsam gnome in daydreams drifts,
Beneath the cobalt sky.
A species known for inner rage,
Not so in Jetsam's case.
He rests in endless, patient joy,
Faint smile upon his face.
A gnome is but an object, true,
Quite motionless and still.
Jetsam is a statue, yes,
Devoid of fishing skill.
Yet should one gaze long enough,
Until the sun doth sink,
You'll almost swear you saw him move,
And give a tiny wink!
"He's but a gnome, a Jetsam gnome!"
Some cynics always say.
And yet fresh fish are on the dock,
At close of every day.
Thus the Jetsam gnome reclines
And fishes, every day.
Listening to the ocean's song,
Relaxing by the bay.

Ode to the Techo Master
By Aidan_hood
In a hut, on an Island, somewhere not far from here,
A mystical Techo is known to appear.
Bright green skin and greying hair,
He doesn't sit down, but floats in the air!
But what is his purpose? What does he do?
That's simple, he passes knowledge to me and you!
He teaches long courses, tells you how to improve,
How to be strong, boost your speed when you move!
Teaching techniques to make you last in a fight,
And how to defend yourself, dodging left and right.
But that's not the limit to this Techo's skills,
He teaches control, without any frills.
Balance, posture, stamina, and poise,
Concentrate hard, silence required, not noise.
If you want to learn, then you'll certainly do well,
Hoards of information that he is able to tell.
So thank you for coming to Neopia here,
The old Techo Master, for you, we cheer!

The Gelert Prince
By Soaringeagle25
Kingdom near or kingdom far,
The wind blows gossip through
Of a young Gelert prince bizarre
Or just crazy, at least they argue.
Luxurious fur a royal shade of jade,
Clothing of richly coloured hue,
Yet his demeanour ever dismayed,
His prevalent worry grew.
Subjects bowed upon approach,
Nobles paid dutiful respect,
Yet his anxiety still encroached --
A distress he couldn't neglect.
What could make a prince so ill?
A fierce conundrum, to be true.
Though violins sing and flutes trill,
Nothing cheered the prince so blue.
Yet one day came a chirp
From the grand hall door.
Silken ebony feathers fluttered in --
It was his Petpet Crokabek he adored!
Now a smile adorns his face;
In everything he finds joy and excitement,
Since his beloved Petpet he misplaced
Returned home from a land distant.

The Altador Cup
By Goldenguppiesjeez
The Colosseum stands empty, waiting.
The rising sun turns grey arches
Pastel pink, pale orange, soft purple.
Behind the slushie stand
The hum of machines
Ready to churn out
Cold drinks for thirsty enthusiasts.
The sun climbs higher,
The stands begin to fill,
Loud Techos, parched Tonus, indignant Nimmos.
The waitress dons her chiton,
The first customers arrive,
Chokato, zeenana, jumbleberry,
Empty cups to collect.
The sun crests the zenith,
The crowd quiets, the trumpets sound --
Sharp peal, echoing cry, silence pervades.
First team enters, the clarions sound.
The second appears, the crowd roars.
The clarions blow a final time --
The game has commenced!
Through the sliding panels, a Yooyu.
Players surge forward, eager.
Grasping paws, swift passing, a goal!
The Techo whose loudest cheers
Inspire others to follow his lead,
Blatantly clamours his support,
A deafening crescendo for the teams.
At the end of the day,
The sinking sun's last rays illuminate
Soft purple, pale orange, pastel pink.

Maths Nightmare!
By Neogal_anu
Clad in pristine white,
Peaceful sleep on her face,
In the dark of the night,
In a misty haze.
Imiya doth sleep, hoping her dreams
Will chase away her fear
Of the math test, which it seems,
With every second is drawing near.
Flowers, butterflies, pleasant sights,
Things of beauty and grace,
Driving away her inner frights,
Ushering smiles onto her face.
Out of the blue appears a Babaa,
With a little bubble.
Imiya was fond of the Babaa,
But the bubble made her mumble.
Oh, the horror! The bubble had
A problem, a problem so terrifying,
It made Imiya go mad,
Her face wore an expression horrifying.
The bubble contained maths!
Addition, division, subtraction galore,
More Babaas came running along the path,
A thing she definitely couldn't adore.
Bubbles with math problems,
A clock merrily ticking away,
Made Imiya realise the troubles,
In store for her the next day.
Solve the problems in time!
Dare you risk your sleep?
Then, until your alarm chimes,
It will make your flesh creep.
Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division,
If you manage to brave it all,
Imiya would have had some revision,
That test won't drive her up the wall.
She will wake up the next morn,
Fresh from her Maths Nightmare,
Her test score won't be so forlorn,
Neither will her mother give her angry glares.
If you dare brave those Babaas,
And have a helping hand in mind,
Help Imiya the Aisha!
This game is what you should find.
