LUTARI DAY SPECIAL

The Lutari Discovery
By Ethan_redshaw

Mist of water, mysterious island,
Obscured, forever drifting the ocean.
Remnants of footprints upon the wet sand,
Searching in silence; lost for emotion.

Parting of leaves; forgotten eyes gaze...
The dance of firelight upon jagged stone.
Canopy of plants, green hue of the maze,
Soft voices are heard... he is not alone.

The foreigner leaves the safety of the shore,
Sounds of chanting; his mind flooding with fear.
Forest foreboding - not keen to explore,
The rustle of leaves, the glint of a... spear?

Chanting continues, an encircling beat,
The fine shimmers of feathers and wet paint.
Tribal ceremony, the stamping of feet,
An ancient tradition... reality so faint...

The group halts; the new intruder they sense,
Streamline figures, slight curl of their tail.
He stands his ground; his body so tense,
Hoping they'll leave him in the forest veil.

Leader comes forth; her green eyes so wise,
Silky fur and brilliant crown of colour.
But just when he thought it was his demise,
A smile appeared - kind like no other.

Lutari Serenity
By Anjie

Sanctuary, aqua sheen,
Gentle ripples seldom seen.
The lake has rhythm all its own,
A silken beat for it, alone.
There they laze on drifting blue,
Enchanted by the haven's view.
Silken plume steers waters way,
A soothing calm in hectic day.

Lutari lie like colored light,
Rainbow streaks on lake so bright.
Here they're hidden from the world,
With part of boughs, this place unfurled.
A tiny pond beyond the trees,
Where they may idle as they please.
Cooling bath through sunlit haze,
Where creatures come to dwell and laze.

Serene and silent is this place,
Luxurious, a secret space.
The waves are gentle, water warm,
To bathe and soothe Lutari form.
Friendly boughs drape nice and low,
So they may watch the scene below.
Here they laze on branch and tide,
This place is where Lutari hide.

The Lonely Lutari
By Party_hobbit

Through the water's silken robes
He swam, without a sound.
Barely even surfacing
Though he circled the world around.

His coat, a glistening mantle
And his eyes, bright as the sun
Head, alert and ready
Mouth twitching with fun.

As around the Flotsams came
He darted quick among.
Saddened, though, for he found
His presence they'd tend to shun.

Alone he swam, disheartened
Merry head hung low in shame.
It had occured to him, just now
That his species was to blame.

A rarity, indeed, he was
But instead of a badge of honour
The other Neopets looked at him
With a mixture of fright and horror.

Through the scorching seas he swam
And through the biting frost
After a time, he stopped in shock
And owned that he was lost.

Resting on an unknown island,
He wept tears azure.
When came a call to reach his ears
And laughter, swift and pure.

Rising, he dashed from his post
Eyes alight once more
And to his delight, and sudden shock
He saw Lutari on the shore.

Lutari in Haiku
By Panril

She, the ocean's child -
Slips into the stream at night
Easy like breathing.

Solitary, slow:
The water is bright and clear.
Bubbles are singing.

Gliding Lutari,
Can you hear the sea calling
All her little fish?

Uninterrupted,
And belonging to the swell
She lazes and lolls.

A Vernax flitters
This way, that way, this way, that -
Soon it passes by.

She is unmindful;
Lounging in pools of navy
Morn approaches, swift.

This swim, her present -
The sun replaces the moon.
She grows one more year.

The Jubilant Lutari
By Wintermint_1012

In a river of azure blue
drifting in a path askew
swiftly swims a pedigree
of creature rich in jubilee

Dewy locks do frame such face
of mischief and exotic grace
a rarest sight to behold
of legends fresh to unfold

Of which the rivers where they play
lead them to an island's bay
of tropics new and beaches calm
shaded by the fronds of palms

To forests rich and rivers clear
where the sun stays all the year
a creature evades the world's sight
there they rest in paradise

Here it stays far from the view
of those who seek, but reach it few
among the river and shady trees
swims the jubilant Lutari.
