The Jetsam is a famous fish,
Folks fear them far and wide.
The way it gnashes its large teeth,
Will make you run and hide.

The Jetsam swims in oceans,
Sometimes in rivers or seas.
If you see one swimming towards you,
Be still and make sure that you freeze.

The Jetsam is a fierce fighter,
Always ready to battle in the Dome.
But it is also a fabled companion,
Who will fit very well in your home.

The Jetsam is a hard to find creature,
They are known to be really quite rare.
You'll be quivering in your booths when,
You're caught in a Jetsam's stare!

Becoming Jetsam

Today, I visited the lab ray
And just in time for Jetsam day
With one quick zap, a jetsam I was
Complete with fins, a tail and large jaws

A fierce change from my meek old look
My petpet took one glance and shook
I can’t find Humbug anywhere now
No, I didn’t eat him! I vow!
Petpets are friends not food
Even when I’m in a hungry mood

Jetsams aren’t all bad guys
Be wise and don’t believe the lies
Sure our appearance is scary
But like other pets, jetsams vary

It makes me sad to see pets so wary
I’m quite friendly and merry
I promise I won’t bite
Or give you a massive fright

So please try not to flinch,
When I smile wider than an inch!

An Encounter with a Jetsam

It was a temperate autumn day;
The sky was blue and pale;
The gentle waves lapped on the shore
And beckoned me to sail.

With joyful heart I set out,
Delighting in the day;
The soothing motion of the boat
Held troubling thoughts at bay.

When unsuspectingly I spied
A fin below the drink;
It thumped the vessel’s starboard side,
Then vanished in a blink.

My heart raced faster than my thoughts,
And I could scarcely breathe;
I dreaded to be face to face 
With a fearsome set of teeth!

But the Jetsam paid no heed of me
And blithely went his way;
And so, no harm befell me
On that fateful autumn day.

It's Quiet for Jetsams

It's quiet in the oceans of Neopia.
Some would even say too quiet.
Everyone is hiding in one house,
All too aware of the Jetsam diet.

There's a whisper occasionally,
Followed by a, "Quiet, you guys!"
The Maraquans wait impatiently,
Before finally yelling "SURPRISE!!"

The resident Jetsams arrived
To hear their joyous shouts.
Normally feared of in the ocean,
They were filled with doubt.

"Happy Jetsam day!"
The crowd rejoices aloud.
The Jetsam's toothy grins
Stand out within the crowd.

They are normally feared!
They didn't expect any niceness.
Their fellow, kind Maraquans
Did so with such finesse!

May this be a lesson to all,
Even though they are scary,
The Jetsam also deserve
To have one day to be merry!

Oh Jetsam, My Jetsam

Another morning bright and early, ready for the day

I do my dailies, spin the wheels and then into the fray

The cosmic dome is waiting for another daily fight

But as for my reward? Well, it isn't looking bright

They told me you dropped nerkmids - and maybe that was true

But as for me all I receive is endless space food!

I don't want your novas, you can keep your starry crunch

And as for your gorundas, I've already got a bunch!

Your neocola tokens are just slightly more endearing

But waiting on your codestone drops can really make me weary.

I've trained and trained just to be able to use lens flare

But for what? It's all for naught - I hate your useless wares!

And to think I've trained for you just makes me rather bitter

But today I won't give up! No Jetsam, I'm no quitter

Even though you're usually a hopeless, useless jerk

Today I sing your praises - for you've given me a nerk.

A Variety Of Jetsam Sandwiches

A lot of foods are made from pets.
I'm not by far a vegan gal,
But on this website, I avoid
Some foods that hurt my good morale!

There's Meerca Pie, adorned with ears
So sadly toasted black and brown.
Don't look inside, or you might find
A tiny, melancholy frown!

There's Sun Dried Techo Claw, for sure.
I've tried it once, but not again.
There's Wing of Korbat, scarlet hued.
Who sadly lost their arm, and when?

There's Bloody Ghost Toast, dripping with
The blood of some poor Neopet.
There are so many twisted foods,
I haven't even tried them yet!

So try the Jetsam Sandwiches!
The bread is formed like our dear pets.
The inner fillings have no meat.
They're snacks that you will not regret!

The Cheesy version's a delight.
The filling drips with yellow gold.
It's melted cheese perfection, yes.
Its tang is salty, cheesy, bold.

The Gooey version is a mix
Of blueberry and onion sauce.
A slice of cheese rounds out the taste.
I love this fruity, savory cross!

The Spotted Chocolate version is
A gorgeous, toothsome, choice affair.
It's dipped in molten chocolate. Then,
It dries and hardens in the air!

The final version's Strawberry,
Its fillings, warm and very sweet.
This is my favorite food by far!
It's such a gorgeous, tasty treat!

So please think twice before you eat
A food containing Neopets!
Please try these Jetsam Sandwiches!
They're something that you won't regret!

The Great Trek

Ploughing through the waters deep,
Of sweet air are you deprived.
Watery grave and twilight sleep,
Alone have Jetsam survived.

Powerful, wicked, razor teeth,
Fins slice through endless sea,
Sinister, daring, the Lords beneath,
In their wake do prey flee.

Here they do live: mighty, alone.
Overlords of their deep, dark abode.
Withdrawn and mistrustful by nature,
Hearts hardened to the world above.

Reigning over their waters in solitary:
An unsatisfactory life for some.
Thus once a year The Great Trek is made,
All wary of who they'll become.

Departing their Waters, 
Migrating upstream.
Those who leave cannot falter,
For to return would be disgrace.

Once a year the Jetsam emerge,
To offer their loyalty to new families
Seeking diversity, trust, community,
To love with total impunity.

Consider a Jetsam’s pledge this year;
More loyal a companion you will not find.
The beasts of the sea, finally free,
To love you unconfined.

Spectre The King of Cheat

Self appointed,
Self absorbed,
The millionaire jetsam,
Is undoubtedly the King of Cheat!

He knows,
When you bluff,
When you try to act "tough",
He can see though your act,
Tis' a matter of fact.

If you think you are good enough,
He will play a game or two,
With you,
But you better have a good blank face,
For he can see right through you.

Rarely defeated,
You will know what I mean,
When you play him in a game,
Of Cheat.

For want of a Royal Jetsam

For Jetsam Day is coming
and soon all of Neopia will hear
what colors the Rainbow Pool
will provide for them this year.

For me, however, I have a desire
and I hope it comes true
That Jetsams this year, become Royal
instead of another hue.

Yes, I desire Royal Jetsams
to have a king and queen
to run their undersea realms
and plan their royal schemes.

They'll control vast swaths
of the briny Neopian seas
with coral castles befitting
their status as royalty.

They'll use seaweed for jewelry
and tridents for their scepters.
Crowns of large ocean pearls
and make Floatsams their butlers.

It's time for the bullies
and predators of Neopian seas
to claim their rightful place on top
and join the colors of Royalty.

Yes, this year, Royal Jetsams
are the color I want to see
for they would be better then something
like 8-bit or Elderly.
