Korbats, A Haiku

A Korbat haiku -
It seems easy to write but
how do I begin?

A set of strong wings
carry them to other lands
to shop, eat and play

I hear they shine bright
in the darkest of places;
It's not always true.

One famous Korbat
is Gormball player Kevin
He's my favorite one!

Painted or plain, they
are willing to lend a wing
to others in need.

I think we should all
greet the Korbats we know a
HAPPY KORBAT DAY!

Celebrating Korbat Day

During the month of Collecting,
on the 26th day,
everyone gathers to celebrate
Korbats in their own way.

With large radar ears
and sharp little fangs,
when Korbats go to sleep,
upside down they hang.

Visit your favorite Korbat
so you can celebrate with one.
Make sure you do so at night
since that's when he'll be up for fun.

Korbats have a tenancy
to sleep their days away.
Then each and every night,
they come out to play.

Don't let their appearance
cause you any fear.
Docile in nature,
don't hesitate to go near.

Just don't anger a Korbat,
or you'll soon regret it.
Their tails and fangs
will make you submit.

Enjoy your Korbat Day
however you please.
Take advantage and have some fun,
it's your day to seize.

Long Live the Korbats

Korbat day is finally upon us:
We’ve been anticipating its flight,
The clouds in the sky are numerous,
As Korbats traverse the height

Their wings are spread beautifully,
Creating a shield in the flow,
Then they descend vertically,
To enjoy their festive events below

For once there is no hurry to be had,
But there is joy and music and,
A little something for every Korbat,
So they can continue to be grand

Appreciating Korbats should continue,
Even if it’s not a celebratory day,
For a flock of Korbats up above in blue,
Would want it to be that way

A Korbat Congregation

On a crisp and chilly autumn night,
With silver moon on high,
I pulled my jacket close to me
And gazed upon the sky.

The clouds formed eerie patterns
In shades of grey and white,
And the landscape seemed to ebb and flow
In the pearly faint moonlight.

But slowly, I began to see,
With intensely focused eyes,
That what had caused the land to move
Were Korbats in the skies.

They weaved their complex patterns
With quiet determination
As the land below pulsated
With a strange rhythmic vibration.

Then all at once a stillness
Settled upon the earth;
It was then I knew the Korbats
Had retreated to their berth.

Many nights I’ve spent since then
Transfixed in fascination
As the sleepy land is wakened by
A Korbat congregation.

History of Korbat Day

There once was a dependable little Korbat,
Upon Brightvale castle is where he sat,
Keeping watch for King Hagen the Wise,
Guarding every night until the sun would rise.
Years passed and he faithfully served his king,
Never complaining or asking for anything.
The king realized the Korbat had been of great value,
And being wise, he decided that a reward was due.
After spending many weeks trying to think of a solution,
The king finally came up with the perfect resolution.
He called the Korbat in and started as such,
“First, I would like to thank you very much.
You have done well to serve me all of these years,
But you should have a day off to rest your ears.
I declare that on the 26th day of the month of Collecting,
You may take off the day to relax and do some reflecting.”
And so this loyal Korbat guard became the very reason,
Every year, we celebrate Korbat Day during this season.

The Life of a Korbat

The Korbat flies at epic speeds,
Its body is so light.
You might spy one in the day,
But more regularly at night.

The Korbat moves quickly through the forest,
Gliding along with ease.
But laughter follows close behind,
They giggle and they tease!

The Korbat likes to play fun games,
And especially love to win.
Though they can be very competitive,
They lose graciously with a grin.

The Korbat has a secret side,
Where they fly to, we don't know.
But they have such a friendly nature,
That you'll have to let them go.

The Korbat is the perfect pet,
For folks like you and me.
Rescue one from the pound today,
And you will very surely see!

Rapid reflexes.

Mokti and Rikti,
Characters in NeoQuest,
Brother and sister.

Athlete Zo Junior,
Plays for the Haunted Woods team,
Altador Cup star.

The Cautious Korbat

A precious Korbat
I happen to know
does not quite know
how to fly,
keeping her gaze
fixated upon
the vast Neopian sky.
I hear other 'Pets
encourage her
as her talons clench the end
of the dark Tyrannian cave
where most of her days
are carefully spent.
I watch her from
the ground below -
She undoubtedly has wings
and could easily glide
through the air,
but she has no time
for such things.
She wanted to fly
as skillfully
as other Korbats do,
and to soar towards
the distant lands
beyond the ones
she knew.
I pass by the tree
near the Korbat's cave,
With the other 'Pets
I slightly gawk.
We silently wish
she reaches her goal
(This careful Korbat's
never mocked.)
Maybe the cautious Korbat
is afraid to drop and fall.
I would give it
a few more days -
She's still a baby,
after all!
Rumor has it,
a skilled flying Neopet
is on his way to teach.
I think it's grand how
with expert instruction,
the Baby Korbat's
goals are within reach!

Shining Korbat Outfit

I'm normally a person of
Such dark and daring type.
And yet I've fallen quite in love
With this outfit so bright!

The dress is something marvelous.
It shines with majesty.
This dress is scintillating stuff,
The loveliest ever seen!

It's woven from the finest threads
Of whitest, purest silk.
It shimmers with some diamond gems
As creamy as fresh milk!

Its collar's graced with necklace gold.
Its waist is cinched and small.
Its hemline's trimmed with golden rings,
And leaves me quite enthralled!

The wig is blonde and shimmering.
It's lightly graced with braids.
It changes my dear Korbat pet
Into a graceful maid!

I love the sweet tiara too.
It sparkles in the sun.
Placed carefully atop the wig,
It cannot be outdone!

And finally, the shining staff
Is gripped in Korbat paws.
It's made of gold and topped with gems
As bright as evening stars!

I changed my mind about the ways
In which I dressed my pets!
I now buy clothes that shine and gleam,
A move I don't regret!

Korbat in training

Hey you, Korbat! I see you there!
Watching me from the corner,
thinking I am unaware.

Oh sure, you are clever, I won't deny that
But Sharp-sensed as I am, I hear every little flap,

I know what you want, and I know why you're here
If it's game you desire then very well, come near

I know one you'll like, despite my critique
How about a game of Hide and seek

I can give you some tips, You need some for sure
You think I haven't spotted you a hundred times before?

Let's start with those ears, How big they are indeed,
With those things sticking out, discovery's guaranteed.

And that tail of yours, just waving about,
would give you away for sure, no doubt.

You need to be silent, Stop shuffling like that
If obviousness was a skill, it's what you'd excel at

So come on, let's start, I'll count to ten
Think of all of the things I have said

I know I've been harsh and I sound somewhat mean
But you Korbats have a job to do on Halloween

Practise hard and you'll learn to disappear
But hurry it up, the day of horror draws near
