Open Blue
By 4zure
At the sandy shore he sat
Gazing towards the sea
Pondering its mighty depths
And its mystery
The island day was balmy
The sun shone ever bright
A gentle breeze caressed the beach
Giving daydreams flight
It was now that Jack decided
To dive into the sea
To roam about its mighty depths
And solve its mystery
Through the shallow tide he splashed
And into the open blue
In a flash, he was gone
Away through the waves he flew
The current was not merciful
To poor Jack -- alas!
For several moments he was tossed
Through the cerulean mass
But once the frightful ride was done
"Sweet Fyora!" thought he
As he beheld the mighty blue
In all its majesty
Sunlight sifted through the waves
To schools of Peo and Nuranna
The diver reveled in the presence
Of the sea-going fauna
Farther out to sea he went
Longer he did swim
Till his muscles badly ached
In each and every limb
Good fortune was his friend that day
For if it hadn't been
He might have met a hungry Jetsam
Instead of the kindly Peophin
"Dear diver, do come with me,"
Said the friendly fellow
"I'll take you to a small alcove
Where the current runs mellow."
The sun had made its daily round
And on the horizon it sat
Waiting for the moon to awaken
And that would be that
Through the crashing waves and surf
The Peophin did breach
Jack reached for the convening stars;
They were just within his reach...
His digits clasped around thin air
And into the abyss he fell
Yet he felt strangely at peace
Under the oceanic spell
When the sea should have caught him
In its waiting hand
Jack felt no salt water
But instead the beach and sand
"How in Neopia did I get back here?"
Pondered the explorer of the sea
From the open blue to dry ground
Now that was a mystery
Xenon called from the Neohome porch,
"Jack, it's time to go to bed!"
The Anubis stole a glance at the water
And inside he was led
Together, the Anubis and Xenon slept
As the moon and stars convened
The Kyrii's mind began to race
As he began to dream
At the sandy shore he sat
Gazing towards the sea
Pondering its mighty depths
And its mystery...

Jazan's Confession
By Opthal
The whisper of a drifting wind,
Rain trickles down the stinted glass.
Time gazes at my waiting there,
My memories all a distant past
The hourglass remains unturned
Days darkening to solemn night
Silence here, I stand alone
No ears to hear my tearful plight
With every ragged gasp I breathe
My soul unrested and denied
Guilt and tears encumber trails
Through darkness countless times I've cried
Down countless lonesome lanes I've tread
My load of woe and sin,
Time is fading, passing by
So let the tale begin.

Moonbeam Uni
By Phoenixlyd10012
Under the gleaming moon I saw him,
Star-white Uni, neck arched high in pride.
Beautiful -- his pride, so delicate,
Courage, knowledge, not to be denied.
A flower-like body, almost all of light,
For the speed of light, momentarily at rest,
Balanced on the sheer glass-edge of perfection,
Perfection of grass, silver upon the crest.
The raised hoof, proud poised head,
Flowing mane,
The supreme moment of stillness before flight,
Then the half turn under the trees -- a motion,
The remembrance of things lost to earthly sight.
Stay - oh stay - in the forest, little white Uni!...
He is lost and gone and now I do not know,
If it was a little white Uni I saw that night,
Or only a moonbeam astray in the silver light.

The Mysteries of Altador
By Mzzangelgirl
I'd like to tell you what they are,
The mysteries of Altador.
I think it's time to spill the beans
And spell out what the whole thing means.
Remove the mask, reveal the trail
Unbag the cat and lift the veil.
Yes, lay my cards upon the table,
And see an end to myth and fable.
Say, "Here it is!" and "There we are!"
The mysteries of Altador.
No more delay, no dark confusion
Just simple facts and a conclusion.
I think it's time, I think it's late,
The world has had too long to wait.
From Meridell to Kreludor
We're driven mad by Altador.
From long ago to times like these
One tangled web of mysteries.
But not much longer -- Goodbye doubt!
The time has come to spit it out.
I'd like to tell you what they are
The mysteries of Altador.
I'd like to tell, you'd love to hear...
The trouble is, I've no idea.

Marak the Wave
By Natasha_nguyen
Amid oceans of gentle blue
Crests of waves sparkling white
Lutari constantly swimming through
In this expanse a young mind takes flight.
Marak the Wave, strong of hoof
Trident of coral makes all flee
His victories are the truthful proof
Confident armies does he lead.
Then the villages did attack
With rollings stones that fell like hail
But the Peophin clan struck back
And in the end they did prevail.
Honored hero, smart and brave
For his effort he refused all coin
Until the famous Altador came
And asked Marak if he would join?
Only a first courageous notion
Now a Guardian of the land
Marak swims in some distant ocean
Reigning with trident in hand.
