Seven Little Moehogs
By Tdyans

It was a fine and sunny Moehog Day
When seven little Moehogs came out to play.
They "oohed" and "aahed"
As their heroes walked by
And spoke of what they'd do
When they left the sty.

"I'll be just like Judge Hog!"
Said the runt of the litter.
"Big and strong and never a quitter!
With my superpowers, I'll fly through the air
And give all the bad guys a mighty good scare."

"When I grow up, I'll be like Desert Flower,
Helping Kauvara create magical power,"
Said the girl hog, putting a rose in her hair,
Hoping it gave her a magical flair.

"I'll be like 00 Hog," said the next with a smile,
Trying to imitate the card player's wiles.
"No one will beat me,
I'll be smooth as they come,
Anyone who tries will look pretty dumb."

"We'll be in a band--just like Moehawk!"
Said three more Moehogs, pretending to rock.
"I'll be the drummer!" and "I'll play guitar!"
"With me as lead singer, we're bound to go far!"

Now everyone turned to the last little hog,
Who'd been up 'til now just as quiet as a log.
"What I'd like to be," he said, baring his teeth,
"Well, what I'd like to be
When I grow up is... a Skeith!"

The Haunted Woods-A Sonnet Pair
By Beatlechic03

The woods are dark and dreary,
Covered in shadows.
As you enter, be wary--
What they hide, no one knows.
A fog smothers the ground,
Keeping danger from sight.
Your heart will loudly pound
As you tremble in fright.
Evil floats in the air,
Choking you with each breath.
Be careful of the snares
Which mean certain death.
"The woods are no place for you to be!"
Cries the evil, demented, and crazy Brain Tree.

Startled, terrified, and in horror,
Your heart skips a beat.
Snags and brambles galore
Stick your legs and your feet.
Wadgets sinisterly glare,
Their gaze freezes your soul.
You hear your clothes tear
On a branch. Midnight tolls.
Off in the distance you see a dim glow;
You focus your mind on the sight.
You trip and suffer a terrible blow.
You will never again see that eerie, dull light.
The unwavering fate of all those who come
Is to never again feel the warmth of the sun.

Tyrannian War
By Firebat25

Long ago in Year Three
Tyrannia was engulfed in total war
Burning the land, uprooting trees
Drenching the land with blood and gore

It began with a wave of Korbat scouts
Weaving a net of fear in the clouds
Creating chaos and terror all about
Darkening the skies without a sound

Then came a wave of stout shock troops
Fierce Skeiths and Grarrls charged into the land
Spreading ruin and destruction
Churning the soil into barren sand

Out of the cracks in the earth,
The Chia bombers entered the fray
An evil light burning in their eyes
Their mud slings darkening the day

Out of the volcanoes in the north
Crawled an ancient terror with a flaming hide
Breathing smoke and spitting flames
The fire Grarrl burnt foes with its molten side

Then came the raging tempest
A buzzing swarm of Tyrannian Buzz
Swooping down with their glinting claws
The air was filled with a ringing buzz

The last wave came as a storm
The Grarrl Battlemasters bearing swords
Towering above their foes,
War-hardened servants of the dark lord

The Monoceraptor was the last to come
He hated all folk that were free
In his heart was a rotten core
He wished to despoil all from mountain to sea

When the Neopets learnt of Tyrannia's plight
They took up arms and prepared to fight
To fight against the evil horde
With lightning beams and silver swords

In the end, the final battle came
On the edge of the volcano's slopes
There were heroes famed in name
The Neopets were high in hopes

It was a Lupe that smote the beast
Evading its stout jaws
Dodging it from west to east
Finally cutting off one of its great claws

With a dreadful cry the beast tumbled
Screaming out its curse, a dying roar
And with that, its glory was humbled
After that, it was seen no more

Beauty Contest Jitters
By Angelgrly76

Anxious, nervous, and anything in between
Will I accomplish something I dream?
Many long hours I've worked away
Maybe it will all pay off today
The begging, the pleading, the asking and posting
All for this contest that Neopets is hosting

The competitors are many, some are so great
Pondering what will become of my fate
Will I earn that trophy, the one that gleams?
I feel as though I'll burst at the seams
Tossing and turning, I can't hardly sleep
All of my worries piling into a heap
Look at the count! I'm doing so well!
Will I win? Only time can tell

Dreaming of the best, yet fearing the worst
Hoping that my efforts won't be cursed
Wanting more votes, am I getting too few?
Thinking so hard, "Is there more I can do?"
I've done so much, guess I'll have to wait
The Neopets users will decide my fate
I've worked so hard and tried my best
Boy, I hope I'll win the Beauty Contest!

Moehog Day
By Charlienalfie

I am a Moehog, roaming the plains,
Digging up morsels with my tusks like cranes,
Searching the land with my fine-tuned snout,
Playing and rummaging and running about.

I am a Moehog dancing with death,
Poking and giggling at the "asleep" Skeith.
Suddenly he strikes but life's got to be fun,
Quickly and smoothly like the wind I run.

I am a Moehog jumping in the air,
Catching and playing with the Faeries there.
It's getting late
But the Faeries' wings light the sky,
They whisper and giggle
as the day turns to night.

I am a Moehog snuggled in my owner's lap,
It's been a tiring day so I'll call it a wrap.
I'd love to stay up with the Faeries, but...
I can feel my eyes closing, closing shut.
