Insects found in the Desert
Four legs and two arms.

Despite Desert roots
Rukis Rukis tolerate the cold
Large eyes can see far.

Clawed pincers grab food
Exoskeleton protects
Natural armor.

Many forehead spots
Regardless of color
Even on babies.

Some do not like bugs
But Rukis are still special
Happy Ruki Day!

The Rookie Ruki

Have you heard the story
That’s full of guts and glory, 
Without a bit of allegory, 
Of the Rookie Ruki? 

It’s really quite the tale, 
The excitement never fails, 
Because the hero prevails, 
Him being the Rookie Ruki. 

Why is he a legend, you ask? 
His feat was no small task. 
But he didn’t wear a mask. 
That’s why he’s called the Rookie Ruki. 

The National Neopian is a place
To keep things you want safe, 
But did you know there was a race? 
The winner was the Rookie Ruki. 

The race was simple, you see,
There was one place to be: 
Inside the vaults was he, 
That sneaky Rookie Ruki. 

Into his pockets went the gold,
From Neopians young and old, 
It was a sight to behold, 
The Thieving Rookie Ruki. 

He made away with all the cash, 
But to a swift end came his dash,
He really should’ve worn a mask. 
They caught the Rookie Ruki. 

It was an easy mistake to make, 
But one that sealed his fate, 
A source of eternal heartbreak,
That’s why he’s called the Rookie Ruki.

In the lost desert, amongst the sand,
Is where the Ruki consider their homeland.
Their tough armor keeps them safe from light,
Without it, they would still put up a fight.
Making long journeys is no feat,
No matter the distance, a Ruki will not be beat. 
On their special day, June 29,
you can make a friend that will last for life.
Ruki are loyal and true, do not miss your chance
You can tell they are forever friends from just one glance. 
 Anshu is a notable Ruki,
And as a doctor, is one smart cookie. 
We cannot forget the Ruki presence in the Second-Hand Shoppe,
There’s just too much proof that Ruki’s are a wonderful neopet, which will never stop.

When thinking of a dignified Neopet,
the Ruki probably doesn't come to mind, I bet.
But maybe instead of thinking about creepy-crawly things,
Ponder on the Wisdom of Anshu or how the quickness of an arrow from the Armoured Ruki Bow sings.
A Ruki has grace, style, and flexibility,
and can survive in any Neopian land without difficulty.
Their well-crafted outer armour make them an excellent choice for Battle Dome,
Oh won't you give a Ruki appreciation if not a home?
At least don't wince and move away,
A Ruki could be a Neopet that could save the day!

Ruki Healer

Stroking his white beard in one hand,
Wise old Anshu paces his shop,
Racking his brains over his latest concoction,
Before finally realizing which ingredient to swap.

The elderly Ruki selects from his cabinet,
He grinds roots and spices in his mortar and pestle,
Mixing and stirring then waits a minute or two.
Water boils in a rusty tin kettle.

His recipes come from ancestors who came before,
Mother to daughter, father to son.
Each generation tweaking the methods,
They are never truly complete or done.

Strange aromas arise all the time,
Seeping in the floorboards and wallpaper,
His shop and clothes are musty and ragged,
With stains from particles in the water vapor.

Rukis Are Incredible

Rukis are truly such incredible pets,
In fact, they may be the very best!
From the Lost Desert, they've come,
Quite used to the heat of the sun.

Watch the Faerie Ruki flying so high,
Elegantly having such a grand ol' time!
Dotted with such pretty pink speckles,
All over their body, like tiny freckles.

What a dashing picture Pirate Rukis paint!
Any damsel out there is simply bound to faint.
With their handsome blue and gold-trimmed suit,
And such a suave blue and gold-trimmed hat too!

Then there's the very scary Zombie Ruki!
All who see them have the urge to flee.
Though he may only have a single shoe,
That doesn't stop him from what he has to do!
