So say no more!
We’ll have quiet tea party
Hopefully I get to sit next to the head Vandagyre, named Marty!

I’ll provide the tiny sandwiches and sweet delights
So small it doesn’t take multiple bites
I’m sure the vandagyres will appreciate those
But we’ll see how that goes

Rumor has it, there will be an aerial show
Flying through the Terror mountains covered in snow
They sure do have some dramatic flair, 
It’s a mystery to me how they escaped Neopia’s prying glare

Fifteen years they went undiscovered
I’m clueless how they kept all their tea parties and flying covered
And how does a species so keen on a fight hide from all drama?
They don’t want to tell me, it seems some massive trauma.

I’m glad they can embrace public Neopian life with the rest of us
They managed to blend in without too much fuss
So cheers to Vandagyre discovery day
Better put those tea snacks on a tray!

The Faerie Vandagyre, So Fair

The Faerie Vandagyre, so cute,
Bears colors, quite divine,
And eyes that shine like orbs, to boot.
I'd love to make one mine.

The hues of turquoise, rose, and peach
Have painted feathers. Fair
And softest shades shall stifle speech---
Pure bliss is in the air.

The wings bear likeness to the joy
Of lovely butterflies.
The soul is sweet and very coy,
And who forgets those eyes?

So, if you meet a Vandagyre
That takes the form of faeries,
Your happiness will never tire.
All souls will stay so merry.

Vandagyre Soaring

Terror and Tyrannia,
Roam the majestic Vandagyre
Where they view the beautiful horizon
Of all of Neopia

Feathers soft yet robust
Help them glide through the hills
Searching for new places to roost
And their flapping friends like
Pteris and Korbats

Vandagyres can fly all day
And fly all night, no sweat
The gusts of wind propels them towards
their next adventure awaiting

A Vandagyre's Wish

A Vandagyre's wish is nothing as trivial as wealth,
It's not to be the best in the whole Neopia world,
Or not even the wish to be in good health
But this desire is something that has yet to unfold: 

It is on this day that we celebrate their birth,
The birth of the newest Neopets sort,
This day we look upon their species with mirth,
And there is no one to cut the celebration short

So, yes, this mysterious wish that they hold,
Is not to be reckoned with or underestimated in the least,
As they want to be included in the story yet untold,
The story of appreciation during this feast

Make sure you do all you can to make it come true,
Their wish to be included in all yet to come,
Make sure you love them as much as they do you,
So they'll never feel quite as lonesome

Appreciate these creatures, so loyal and kind,
Who defend their friends through all hardship,
And they'll be dedicated to you, you'll find,
No - Vandagyre day you absolutely cannot skip!

It's Vandagyre Day!
Last but not least,
the species was the newest released.

On this day just four years ago,
we met the Vandagyres we've come to know.
It is a day we'll remember for years to come.
Now we can't imagine Neopia without them.

Don't let their aversion to old clothes
dissuade you from their pros. 
Did you know they are quite wise?
They love to read, so it's not a surprise.  

If you want to befriend a Vandagyre,
a book, some tea, and nuts you will require. 
They have a fondness for each of these,
so with them, they are easy to please.

The Tremendous Flight of the Little Vandagyre

Aspirations

Ike, the Chocolate Vandagyre,
Dreamt of flying high and higher
To soar above the clouds up there
Escape to freedom in the air

"Play it safe," his friends would say
"You'll end up getting hurt one day!"
But Ike paid no need to this
The sky was fun, was joy, was bliss

One day he stretched his wings and said
"Mum, this is the day you dread
Today I will go higher yet
I will not stop, though you will fret."

"I've packed some food, I'll be ok
I'm born for aerial ballet!"
With that, Ike left to start his flight
And soon he was quite out of sight

So more he climbed, up further still
Adrenaline pumped with such a thrill
But then- oh no! The sun's too hot!
And Ike'd flown higher than he ought!

His chocolate wings grew soft and weak
They started to fail, he gave a shriek
He nosedive down, to cooler air
He'd never dreamed of such a scare

Ike made it down, safe on the ground
He kissed the grass, and looked around
The beauty of earth was suddenly clear
Kinder than the sky severe.

Remember when Vandagyres
were first introduced
And all of all of Neopia 
was more than enthused?
Well, today is the time
to cheer and celebrate
a truly wonderful species 
we tend to underrate
They may oftentimes seem 
quite reserved and shy,
but approaching a Vanda
is always worth a try
Though we may not know many,
maybe soon there will be
Vandagyres living in infamy

On their special day
I wonder what is in store,
will there be new toys,
maybe new clothes, or more?
Whatever they will be,
many will surely admire
something, anything
to honor our Vandagyres!
