A nocturnal creature's masterclass,
Nights were quiet, calm, all the same,
Then you came.

You reflected our ways like a mirror,
And made a brave few's path clearer,
You showed us a new way to follow,
Out of our ancestral Hollow,

So many new sights, smells, and foods,
All manner of treasures to be chewed,
Our small world was made so vast,
We hope our time with you will last,

Though our nights are no longer so calm,
Experience is the best soothing balm,
We'll face it all with you by our side,
If we could ask you to be our guide?

Whatever the future has in store,
We're ready to meet it and more,
With you, friend of the pack,
No more hiding, no turning back.

Something New From The Haunted Woods

A new Neopet is finally here!
Everyone give a big ole cheer!
Native to The Haunted Woods; maybe just around the bend
The Varwolves will eat and eat, will it ever end! 

They were once just an April fools joke,
Out of all of the choices, they got the vote!
So now we can have our new canine friends,
Having one as a pet will be the new trend! 

Finish the plot to create your own Varwolf.
Looking so strong, mighty and tough!
So friendly and lovable even if they are rough!
The hair around their neck so furry with fluff! 

Spooky, scary with their large fangs!
Varwolves love all kinds of things,
Especially food when their in a mood!
Feeding them anything rotten will fill them up too! 

Lets celebrate this new species day!
Cheer and dance; you know what they say!
Varwolves are happier when they play.
So cherish them forever, day after day!

The only way to reach the Hollow Grove
Is with a Decaying Pumpkin Surprise

What is that on the forest floor?
Let's approach with caution
Offer them some food
We can now create a Varwolf!

Don’t Be Afraid, He’s Really Quite Cute!

Don't be afraid
He's really quite sweet
This Mutant Varwolf
Just wants a spooky treat

He's got a few extra fangs
And iris of gold
I can see of his kindness
You're still not quite sold

His glowing green mane
Is cool to the touch
And his big soft ears
Hear for miles and such

Those claws look a bit scary
But he'll bring you no harm
He'll love you forever
If you've got chicken parm

His venomous tail
May look a bit daunting
But he's the sweetest thing to emerge
From the dark woods of haunting

A Meeting of the Minds

Would you like to try a bite, 
Of my peanut butter and pickles? 
The smooth way it goes down, 
Fills my gut with warmth and tickles! 

Oh how wretched, I must confess, 
My offerings are much more akin, 
To that which the spooky shop offers up, 
Like hungry fungus and putrid pumpkins! 

On this glorious day, two Neopets alike in taste, 
Gather to feast and meet, 
A buffet abounds with the spooky and gross, 
The Carawool next to pickled feet! 

The Alien Aisha looks eerily on, 
While the Varwolf lingers easily, 
Awaiting other friends, 
Stirring the crypt of spaghetti. 

Why did no one come? 
They laid out all the best! 
The spookiest and grossest foods, 
A Neopet could hope to digest. 

Though the two could not be more
Different to the eye, 
One from space and one from caves, 
Their tastes leave us questioning, why?

It’s okay, the Varwolf smiles, 
His fangs shining white, 
Just look at how much more we’ll have, 
To savour with delight!

A New Friend

They say there's a place, 
In the Woods, that is Haunted. 
Beware Spyder webs in your face, 
Don't be daunted. 

In the Cave that is Scary, 
Dr. Pan Almas will be waiting. 
He will join you on this journey, 
For a Varwolf, you'll be taming. 

With Bart, you must feast 
On a prize from Apple Bobbin'
He'll give you the map piece 
For simply just trying. 

Next up is the Graveyard, 
Where Forgotten games rest. 
Strange Spectre glares hard, 
"ROT" is the answer to their request. 

Now find Gilly the Usul, 
She's at Wanderer Camp. 
Her question is simple, 
Say "MAP" like a champ. 

Hunt down some more clues, 
And go see King Hagan, 
With care you must choose, 
The words you'll be saying. 

See some book shopkeepers, 
And speak out the following:
Seshatia: "FERMENT FORAGER" 
Reginald and Willa, you're just visiting. 

Swing by to see Finneus, 
At the Archives of Altador. 
His knowledge quite infamous,
It's what he is known for. 

Seek wisdom from Brain Tree, 
And hunt food for Esophagor. 
Four-to-five pieces were free,
From others you'll need to acquire. 

With the whole map assembled, 
Head back to Scary Cave. 
Now "Venture deeper," Pan trembled. 
Swallow your fear and be brave. 

Now forage for some offerings, 
To lure out your new companion. 
Pumpkin Surprise that's Decaying, 
What you'll need is a Putrid Pumpkin.

Mix that with Mound of Rotten Fruit, 
and some Fungus that's Hungry. 
Set it out and just wait, don't rush in pursuit,
As you might be up late til the hour of three. 

Quite soon you will see, 
A soft furry head peeking out, 
From the hollow of a tree,
It smells the food with its snout. 

Hip, hip, hooray!
You've had quite the success,
On this new Varwolf Day, 
Your new friend is just the best!

Befriending a Varwolf!

Varwolves value the protection of shadows,
Thriving in the midnight dark.
From the ominous Haunted Woods,
Is where they make their mark.

So I set out to the Woods,
To test my luck and see,
If I could befriend a Varwolf,
And take it home with me!

I set up a trail of gross food,
On the sludge covered path.
Starting at the Esophagor,
To the Fairground and back!

I am eager to tempt the Varwolf,
The lonesome, mysterious recluse.
I sense we would be great friends,
This theory I have deduced.

I respect they are rare,
Terribly difficult to find,
But I do not mind a challenge,
I think the fates will align -

And I will meet a Varwolf,
One to be my dear friend,
Someone to wander Neopia with,
Adventure on the weekends!

A New Varwolf Friendship

From the dark walls in the scary cave...
To even complete the map, you are so brave.
Wandering in carefully without a sound,
Not knowing a new friendship is about to be found.

A small sound stirred along the walls,
A scratch marked where the Varwolf calls.
From the dust inside where the shadows swirled,
A newborn Varwolf’s tail uncurled.

His eyes blinked slowly with cautious trust,
And in that moment, friendship sparked from dust.
The little Varwolf sprang forward to say hello,
His face smiled brightly in the cave’s glow.

Together you step into Neopia beyond the stone,
And you’ll both never have to be alone!
Oh how far you’ll go with your new friend,
Exploring with your Varwolf until no end.

The Howling Varwolf

Waiting for the moonlight to come, 
Listen closely and you may hear them drum,
Deep howls all night long,
Making you wonder if something is wrong.

However it is just a normal day,
With more Varwolves coming out to play,
Sharing the tunes they know best,
Going on for hours without rest.

Lately many more have been seen,
With Neopians wondering what this could mean,
As night comes more begin to howl, 
You may run into a few on the prowl.

If you want this howling pet there is something you must do,
Start treasure hunting and assemble a crew,
There is a spooky cave you need to explore,
But first map pieces are what you will need more.

Once assembled you will know where to go,
However you may need some spooky food to show,
While the journey may start off tough,
Your howling Varwolf will shine like a diamond in the rough!

Hungry like the Varwolf

Darken the cave, night is a wire
Steam in the woods, earth is afire 
You're looking, searching, wanting a sign
Then you hear my breath closely behind. 

You hear movement in the ground
I'm a creature on the hunt, perhaps I'm after you
The fog disorients you, like you're lost in a crowd
And I'm hungry like the Varwolf.

Lost in the woods, too late to hide
You see me coming on the moonlight side
High adrenaline rushes, your chest feels tight
You hear my steps, trailing closely behind

Run in rhythm, it's cadence and rhyme
My howl and whine, echoes after you
Mouth drooling, running for what's mine.
And I'm hungry like the Varwolf.

You trip on the ground, I found you and growl.
I dig through your bag, Putrid Pumpkin I found.
I snack and you stare, like you weren't aware.
I'm a very hungry Varwolf!
