KAU DAY SPECIAL

A Day to Celebrate
by liz0207

Let all Neopians gather,
There’s no place to be rather!
It is time for Kau Day
So let’s get ready for a great holiday.

We’ll start the morning with a Kau Waffle
And get rid of any thoughts that are awful
Then all the Kaus will flock
For some potions on Kauvara’s block

After some shopping,
There will be no stopping.
The next stop will be to create cheers
When Leera Heggle appears.

The day is slowly ending,
But there is still time for quality time spending.
We’ll pick some Kau Slips and let our thoughts drift
As we watch the sun and moon shift.

Kau Day Greetings
by rayoceanweaver

Across the field, beyond the hay,
there is a Kau, and it’s her day.

Her light brown eyes, a soft pink nose,
two small stitched horns, and padded toes.

So sweet and cute (her smile is too),
She runs across to play with you.

This plushie Kau loves making friends -
A Kau Day wish to you she sends!

Don't. Milk. The. Kau.
by indulgences

Reasons not to milk your Kau
Are plentiful and wise.
Listed here are major ones
I surely would advise!

Kaus are cute, but they're not cows.
Their diet is not grass.
Kaus are all omnivorous --
Their milk is sour, alas!

Kaus can eat a Mynci Steak
Or slushies topped with rocks,
But don't you dare to chug their milk...
It's worse than eating socks!

Kaus prefer some curious foods
No human ever would.
Kaus can eat a lot of foods
No human ever could!

Celebrate the Kau today
And hug your Kau with cheer!
Kau milk's indigestible
But every Kau's still dear!

Kalora the Kau
by tallydepp

It's a game called Cheat so you have to expect
That most of the players are slightly suspect!
The sixth player at the table is Kalora the Kau,
She'll cheat and she'll bluff and she'll call you out!
In spotted clothing, with a smile that dazzles,
Determined to win so she can fund her travels!
Kalora is a tourist who ventures far and wide,
Visiting lands, paid for with lies!
She's an expert at Cheat and wants nothing more
Than to take all your neopoints so she can explore.
She's not a bad Kau, despite her sly smirk,
She just wants adventures without having to work!
So if against Kalora you lose all your chips,
Be happy to know you're funding her trips!

Kauvara, Purveyor of Potions
by _brainchild_

Kauvara, purveyor of potions,
Surely sets all dreams in motion!
Have you once desired to be
A darling Draik? That would be me!

I drink the brew— it is the key
To beauty every pet will see.
As I chug, magic prevails—
I sprout some pretty pink Draik scales.

I'm the fairest beauty now,
All thanks to this lovely Kau!
She receives my gratitude
Because this state will lift my mood!

However, she sells not just potions—
Such a narrow-minded notion!
You can buy Light Faerie Dust
Which is a precious, total must!

Water Faerie Bubbles, too,
Are available for you.
Kauvara's Potion, Magic Hat—
You're surely satisfied with that!

I will never cease to say
I love the wares this Kau purveys.
I leave at night, but I'll be back
To buy more treasures off the rack.

Kau is at the Altador Cup now
by zeropoint_mmb

A Kau named Leera Heggle
was playing Yooyuball in the grass,
when an enormous Mynci
caught him off-guard with a pass.

"You're so much better, Volgoth",
the losing Leera said,
as his friend from Mystery Island
scored another with the head.

"It's not always easy
but you shouldn't get upset,"
said the giant Mynci
as he shot towards the net.

Then Leera changed position,
took a choice with heart and soul
and with great ambition
became the keeper of the goal.

Ever since that moment,
the Kau had so much more in store
and Volgoth the giant Mynci
could score hattricks nevermore.

The Stealthy Kau
by amethyst_81

Silently, her hoofbeats keep,
The rhythm of the night,
Her sapphire gaze alone reflects,
Moon's ancient silver light.
Kau of stealth and mystery,
Unmatched in grace and speed,
Shrouded in the shadows,
Follow not where she doth lead.

Velvet hide of cobalt hue,
Great horns upon her head,
Garbed in tattered purple cape,
With purpose she doth tread.
Down secret paths through forest old,
The cadence of her gait,
Announces her arrival where,
A figure doth await.

Great sorceress of magic,
With her bubbling cauldron brew,
In need of one ingredient,
Kau's hair of darkest blue.
For in exchange provided,
Is renewed dark magic spell,
Which silences the clanging of,
The Kau's unstealthy bell.

Shieldmaiden of Maraqua
by anjie

Warrior, lay down your spear,
The fight, good lady, ends.
Seek the ruins of your realm,
And search past foe for friends.
Cast your gaze around, dear Kau,
To where the city dwelt.
Now time comes to weep for all,
And mourn the hand fate dealt.

Warrior, your shield must lay,
Let ocean-tail rest.
You’ve fought with valour in this war,
Surpassing each set test.
Kau of cobalt, ocean blue,
Gaze burns so bright within.
Crowning head, the pallid green,
Of sprawling, spiking fin.

Warrior, your armour rests,
No need for plated steel.
Woven with the turquoise sheen,
That tribal marks reveal.
Weaving ‘cross the plated form,
To mark the sword at hilt.
Rest your weapons, Shieldmaiden,
‘Til your fine realms rebuilt.

Warrior, you’ll never rest,
Shieldmaidens never do.
Defend Maraqua, lady Kau,
For pride doth dwell in you.
You’ll seek to fight on crashing wave,
And drive foes back to shore.
Proud, Shieldmaiden Kau remains,
‘Til realm is whole once more.

Why Do I Love My Kau?
by junglespider

Before I had my Kau around
I never quite thought
His vibrant stripes and bushy tail
Would bring me such comfort—

Of all my pets I take special care
Groomed and happy and fed
But somehow he was different
I loved him more—

Sometimes I wondered why;
Why I love him so
Maybe it was his soft, soft fur
Cozy and warm to the touch—

Or maybe because he loved to talk
About nothing at all
To keep me interested at night
By the luminous fireplace—

So I may never figure out
Why I love him so, but
—maybe out of curiosity
—maybe out of habit
I still ask the same question—

At least for sure I know
This one simple fact
That he's my best friend
With no strings attached.

An Understated Instrument
by peacelovebliss

There are musical 'Pets
around the land
who play their Cellos
and Organs well
but not many appreciate
the sound of the
great Kau Bell.

They look quite strange
to the untrained eye,
like a hollow, flat
beak with a spoon.
When I hear musicians
play it though,
everyone stops to
listen and swoon.

Alone, the Bell makes
a simple sound
a defined note
loud and clear.
Along with other
instruments in song,
it provides elements
of whimsy and cheer.

I think the best instruments
are simple... understated.
Thus, you can guess why
playing my one Kau Bell
always makes me so elated!
