IXI DAY SPECIAL

So Many Amazing Ixi
by Aldurswolf

Ixi Day is coming up,
But who to wirte about?
They're all pretty awesome,
But just whose greateness should we tout?

First up we have Nabile.
First a Scarab and a thief,
But then it was discovered she's a princess,
To many's disbelief.

But then there's always Hanso.
(What's with these Ixi stealing things?)
The faeries all have him to thank
For them not having stone skin.

The Altador Cup has Ixi, too,
Both Ilsa Ellits and the Commentator.
And while we don't know Mr. Disco's name,
Perhaps we'll find out later.

Of course Ixi abound in Meridell, too,
But Sinsi and Nanci are of note.
One created a frustrating game,
The other keeps Ye Olde Petpets afloat.

And I can't forget to mention Sophie,
She might turn me into a stink beetle if I do,
Survivor of the Tale of Woe
And quite the master of the witchy brew.

So, which Ixi should we laud today,
To mark their yearly commemoration?
Actually, it doesn't matter,
Instead enjoy the celebration!

A Day With My Dreamy Hanso Cardboard Cutout
by Agedbeauty

Breakfast with my Hanso cutout
Is an affair like no other,
For only with my cutout
Can I offer him eggs, one after another

And lunch with my Hanso cutout
Is a lunch you won’t soon forget,
As I ask my cutout
If he’s had enough to eat yet

Tea time with my favourite Ixi
In the form of a cardboard to-do
Is a splendid little soirée
When I ask him, one lump or two?

Then dinner with my Hanso
Is rather a quiet thing,
As I serve my cutout the best...
A meal fit for a king!

Then, of course, it’s bed time
Time for that Ixi to count sheep,
So I tuck him in a bed of his own
And lay down my Hanso cutout to sleep

Corinth, Ixi Of The Ancients
by Amethyst_81

Innocent and delicate,
Upon an ancient breeze,
Was carried to this city great
An Ixi from the seas.

Clouds in threads of gossamer
Adorn her like a dress,
Fluttering 'round her dainty form
On summer's soft caress.

A gift from ancient faeries
Sent to win a kingdom's heart,
Corinth's unique talent
Transforms history to art.

But when the sun resigns to set
And day gives way to night,
Mischief twinkles in her eyes
Like glimmering starlight.

The Ixi Chemist
by Dr_tomoe

Deep within the Haunted Woods,
next door to Korbat's Lab,
resides a place where science lives,
both for good and for bad.

Therein resides an Ixi Chemist
working on mysterious chemistry.
His science is soon recorded
for anyone who wants to see.

He works with atoms
to make strange molecules.
Twisting the atoms to make
his various atomic jewels.

The green Neopium,
the most common of atoms.
Combined with blue Tyrannium,
the oldest element known.

Red Slothite, very dangerous,
which hums in an evil way.
Gold Faeryllium, which can only
combine with Neopium he will say.

And the newest element is silver.
Krawkite is its name on the shelf;
a strange atom, as it can only
chemically bond with itself.

But the Ixi's experiments continue,
manipulating the molecules every night,
For what purpose? Who knows,
but hopefully not for fright.

Will his experiments bring peace,
or will they bring about doom?
Just make sure not to combine four Slothite
or there will be a great KABOOM!

Chortle The Ixi
by Fleur_411

Sitting at the round table
In a dark and dusty room,
Buy your hand, if you’re able,
Try to put off your doom.

In this round of poker
You had best beware,
Green Ixi, dressed as a joker,
With his eyes set in a glare.

Chortle is his given name
And many say that it fits,
For, when he wins his game,
He chortles where he sits.

The Ixi wraps his hooves around
All of the chips that he has won,
You’ll probably make a screeching sound,
Because your game and gold is done.

So, before you head on over
To sunny, pretty Meridell
To place your bet and play your game,
You better think it over well.

If the Ixi, Chortle, is near,
You might want to think twice.
You might just feel a twinge of fear --
This Ixi isn’t all that nice.

So, I advise you to wait and see
If Chortle wants to play.
If he does, listen to me,
Save your gold for another day!

Sonnet 116 -- Ixi
by Ariel9lm

Let me not to the players of this site
Admit lies - Ixi are not merely 'pets
Which alter when they do Meridell find,
Or bend with evil Darigan to rule:
O no! They are an ever-fixed mark
That look on plot-lines and are never shaken;
It is the star to ev'ry adventurer,
With intentions unknown, and his points taken.
Ixi aren't Sloth's fool, though his pale lips & cheeks
And his huge Grundo army pressing on:
Ixis alter not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to Neopets end.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no Ixi loved.

The Distinguished Sinsi
by Dustymine

Of riches and prestigious fame,
She doesn’t mind which way you came,
And not to ever ask your name,
“Would you like to play my game?”

She spreads out symbols to test your wits,
Over the checked cloth on which she sits,
And yet, her question proposes the same,
“Want to play another game?”

Her cloven hooves are nimble and fine,
“Try to find the patterns of mine,”
With her sagacious eyes aflame,
“Sorry, you have lost this game.”

And some will wonder if she’s independent,
Perhaps a distant Tarla descendant,
Regardless, she is one grand dame,
“I challenge you to beat my game!”

This creator can be quite adept,
For the winning secret she has kept,
So, for headaches, she is not to blame,
“You were so close to cracking my game!”

With cunning to bring Brightvalians shame,
Sinsi the Ixi is her name.
As she heralds her question of fame,
“Would you like to play my game?”

Crest
by Larkspurlane

Heavy and grey,
The low skies press
Their weight on the horizon,
Almost meeting the white-flecked
Sea-swells that crest and push
Impatiently upwards
As though to call down from above
Sky-fed streams.

And amid the foam and wind,
A sleek-finned Ixi makes her appearance,
Sand-golden and kelp-green,
She is one with these seas,
And lives for these moments:
The lightning flash --

When sky and sea are caught in a white flicker,
And return to soaked gloom --

When the clouds finally
Unleash their burden
And two waters mingle,
Sea-flood and rain --

When the skies seem to be
Falling into the sea.

Sinsi, The Shifter Of Shapes
by Moocowalex

At only twelve years of age,
Sinsi is quite the young fawn.
Very friendly and kind,
She'll never yell, "Get off my lawn!"

Known as resourceful and crafty,
This Ixi never gives up.
She'll spend hours upon hours
Converting each symbol to a cup.

Each and every puzzle
Put in front of her,
Will be solved quite quickly
And appear as a blur.

She'll stand back quite proudly,
admiring her feat.
Her friends all in awe,
Saying, "Sinsi, she is elite!"

Incquiring their companion,
"How are you so good?"
She replied, "It isn't THAT hard,
With practice, I know all of you could!"

So they hunkered down right then,
Sinsi teaching them her ways.
The students learned so fast and hard,
It put them in a daze.

With Sinsi's great knowledge,
All was revealed.
But she made them promise,
To keep the secrets concealed.

Not everyone can handle being smart,
It can leave many quite bitter.
Sinsi, however, copes quite well,
By playing her game, Shape Shifter!

One Loving Ixi
by Mamasimios

Long ago, as Meridell was burning,
Set alight by Darigan's forces,
One loving Ixi made a haven
Deep within the forest.

The shopkeeper of Ye Olde Petpets,
Known to all as Nanci,
Was tireless in her rescue efforts,
Though the pursuit was rather chancy.

Dodging soldiers and artillery,
Nanci avoided the invaders,
And brought each of her dear Petpets
To the forest, to be safer.

She opened up the cages
That held each of the fliers,
Setting free Dragoyles and Vullards
To flee past the castle's spires.

Mortogs, Karrens, and Symols,
Nanci carried in her arms,
And transported to the forest
Where they were all safe from harm.

When the war was over
And Meridell's victory could be enjoyed,
Nanci returned to her shop
To find it had been quite destroyed.

With her trademark boundless energy
The Ixi rebuilt with abandon,
And is yet hand-raising her Petpets
To make them all faithful companions.
