An Appeal For A Magma Pet
by Timbeaux1
Deep in the core of Neopia
there lies a flaming land.
A pool awaits those who try
and make a great demand.
For, the pool is not free to all,
in fact, only those who learn
about Moltara and its ways
are ever granted a turn.
But if you're very lucky
and come at the right time,
you may catch the Tonu napping
and skip the lengthy line.
However, even I have not
figured out his meaning,
or found the time he takes each day
to do his forbidden sleeping.
So, if anyone is reading this
(like a certain guard),
and will let me know the secret,
It's proving very hard.
Maybe just a hint would help
those in my position,
'cause I've tried all I can
just to be granted admission.

Afternoon On Krawk Island
by Blue_zopa
Palm trees dance in a salty breeze;
the sea is a dusky, maractite-blue.
Soggy boards creak beneath my feet as
a ship deck is swabbed by its trusty Warf crew.
In his old straw hat, the Tonu fisherman sits --
his bucket of bait reeks of something so foul.
But as he reels in a plump, golden Butterfish
my tummy lets out its fiercest growl!
I bolt for the shore, to The Golden Dubloon,
as a Pirakeet overhead squeaks me a tune.
A Bomberry Grog and a Squid on a Stick...
my mouth starts to water, my lips I must lick!
I burst through the door
to the smell of Krawk Pie,
the 'pets roar with laughter,
patches over their eyes.
I am finally greeted and offered a stool;
my pockets are barren? Oh, I’m such a fool!
Chased out with the angry wave of a hook,
I wander the streets of cold cobblestone;
The Governor’s Mansion -- why not take a look?
That silver-haired Krawk is always alone.
With a dignified stance,
clothed in scarlet & gold,
he grants me a word so humbling and kind.
With my spirits uplifted, my attitude bold
I visit the coast just to see what I’ll find.
Sure enough, in the sands
just near the lagoon,
I trip over a half-buried, gleaming dubloon!

Zenco's Tale
by Kyradel
Zenco the Magnificent
A fitting name, I'd say
One would be a fool
To believe a duel
With Zenco would be child's play
Now, of course you may be wondering
How this clever Mynci wages war
With a bow? With a sword?
Maybe his mother's ironing board?
(I admit that would be a sight hard to ignore)
But the truth is much more simple
Our dear Zenco uses cards
His deck has gained renown
For its ability to down
Any rival who sends Zenco bad regards
With just the blink of the eye
And just a flick of his hand
Zenco uses his wit
To find a card that will fit
In his struggle so majestic and grand
He has powers that we can scarcely dream of
Over famed figures we have always known
From Commander Gormos to Jhudora
From Jaques to Fyora
And King Skarl on his golden, jeweled throne
So Zenco the Magnificent has wandered
Throughout Neopia for many long years
Yet one day he will meet
One who will finally beat
Mighty Zenco (and this he surely fears)
But I beseech you to take on this challenge
I'm sure you'll do well; don't be shy
And then together
We'll find out whether
A new champion's name we shall finally cry

The Extreme Ironies Of The Money Tree
by Stamberg
What a stroke of luck
Fyora’s granted to me!
For I just got something
Off the famed Money Tree!
I refreshed the page,
Held my breath as I clicked
And picked the first item I’d see.
It looks so expensive, so beautiful and pure!
I’ll sell this in my shop, I’ll be set for sure.
Rolling in riches like kings of Neopia,
On Utopia’s shores I would stroll.
I’ll buy so many things from the riches I’ll make,
From toys to weapons, witch's potions to cake.
I’ll have Neopoints to burn,
I’ll throw some away on the wind,
And still have leftover for an egg of a Draik.
What would’ve happened
Had I not clicked on you?
Would someone else be laughing
All the way to the bank, too?
Nevermore will I have to visit the omelette,
Never again scavenge the Lost Desert for food.
Neopians from across the land
Would tell me jokes or words of wisdom
I’d rule the world with an iron fist,
A lord, a king for a kingdom.
What fool would donate this? I thought
As I clutched it tightly and sought
Out the great Shop Wizard, who, upon its sight
Would gasp and jealously price my shop.
I find the building, I enter and spot;
The yellow JubJub, his starry hat taut.
I hold out the item in pride and grins,
And, confusedly, he points out the shops.
Only a single Neopoint offered
For this marvelous creation?
I build up a breath for a last declaration
As he ushers me out,
Eyes full of pity and doubt,
I cry, “Wait! What about inflation?”

I Believe In Neopians
by Busgui_blythe
Sometimes it's hard to just keep going,
Looking at your 'pet and your bank, knowing,
It's a long hard haul to get to the point
Where your results are actually showing.
Sometimes it seems like you're all alone,
Like all of Neopia somehow secretly knows
How to make millions and get brushes,
But you will reap only what you sow.
So don't give up before you can even start,
Thought it seems the dream 'pet in your heart
Is too hard to even try to get,
Take a step forward and treat this as an art.
You are crafting a perfect Neohome someday,
Or perhaps a Gallery that takes breath away,
A shop with everything in Neopia,
So just ignore what other people try to say.
You are new, freshly-made, and idealistic,
You are beautiful, expectations unrealistic,
Because Neopia is a new world,
Old rules need not apply to the artistic.
It will not be easy
To chase your Neopian dream,
When others drag you down
It may even seem
As if it's impossible,
But they do not understand...
Themselves, you, or me.
They're unhappy and seek to turn you,
They will turn on one another, too.
So ignore them
And do whatever you've set out to do.
For every time you turn away they have won!
Every time you give up or say you're done,
They take joy from you that you deserve,
So stand strong and never turn and run.
This is your place just as much as it is theirs,
This is a place a Jetsam can have green hair,
This is not a battle worth losing,
This is a slice of childhood,
Perfectly made and rare.
Life and Neopia don't revolve around NP, no
NP won't make you happy, we both know
Only your dream can do that.
So stand up for it, nurture it, just let it grow.
Find your real friends here,
The ones who understand,
The ones who don't use you or make demands.
Find the people who dream, too,
And together make this place
A better, happier land.
You will have your dream 'pet one day,
I promise.
Your presence would
Sincerely and deeply be missed
If you left who would build the Galleries?
Without your creatively-built NeoHomes
We'd be remiss.
You are important,
Each single player is deep down
And somehow we've become
Hostile to each other; how?
You are my brothers and sisters in Neopia.
You and I and they are all one,
We all compete and frown.
So it's time to drop hostilities and stereotypes,
It's time to focus on friends instead of hype,
It's time to reach out to one another.
Trust me, once you do,
You'll find people you like.
Don't let the gift of Neopia
Become this awful curse,
Don't yell at other people
For little things, making it worse,
Just be the bigger Neopian
And offer a helping hand.
Tell them where to go
When a faerie needs a purse.
Remember, they have a dream of their own,
Act like your heart is not made of solid stone,
And we will be the Neopia we need to be.
A place where kindness is all that's known.
