LUPE DAY SPECIAL

Song of the Lupe
By Doggetts_fan

Listen cubs and hear me sing
Songs that the great ancestors bring.
Ancient songs sung to a haunting tune
Beneath a ghostly pale full moon.

Now the old tales I will sing,
The legends that the moon will bring.
I will sing of the noble Lupe,
Hunter of monsters on the hoof.

From desert sands to lands half frozen
Come the Lupe, Neopia's chosen.
The world's first fighters
Whose scouts are prowling,
Listen to the Werelupes howling!

Our foes know that the Lupes are near.
They taste their death in draughts of fear.
In fear they run with hurried breath,
The sheep that meet the hound of Death.
And throughout the deep dark nighttime skies,
Comes the howling of a thousand cries.

Now come forth cubs, come forth and listen,
Tales of claws that brightly glisten.
Enemies of Neopia, one and all,
Prepare yourselves for your downfall.

A Knight's Sonnet
By Parmadur

Two swords in combat clashed with steely ring,
The first an evil poisoned blade of night,
The other gleaming in the morning light
As Tormund blocked and then prepared to swing.
His foe stared back with vacant purple eyes
Then grinned maliciously and thrust his blade
Straight at the Lupe, but soon became afraid
When not a shot caught Tormund by surprise.
The swords now flashed
And whistled through the air
As Knight and Villain stepped
And strained and swung.
Then with a ring, the evil sword was flung
Away and Tormund's foe fled in despair.
The hero raised his sword in victory,
"One down, just sixty more to go," said he.

Guard of the Desert
By Anjie

For stronger than each other group,
The forces led by Desert Lupe.

So humid does the dry wind blow,
The sands are scattered, to and fro.
He in arid realm does stand,
A guardian of ancient land.
The Lupe protector, at the helm,
Defender of the desert realm.

On burning Gold do large paws tread,
So regal is the turn of head.
Such dedication to his task,
Concealed on features, under mask.
From vigilance, his foes can't hide,
And none escape the Lupe's strong stride.

A loyal friend to Desert cause,
He'll stand as guard at Sakhmet's doors,
Beneath soft pelt of tangerine,
His innate goodness can be seen.
He'll fight whenever Sakhmet calls,
And stand as ancient city falls.

For stronger than each other group,
The forces led by Desert Lupe.

The Ghost Lupe
By Brilliance109p

When night is at its darkest point,
When birds are dim and dull,
When darkness lurks in every step,
The moon glows bright and full.

You walk alone on empty street,
The sounds are - very few,
Though no one's there, you get the feel
That someone's wathching you.

You plod along, your eyes are dim,
They're darting to and fro,
Amongst the endless mass of grey -
A light and haunting glow.

Stopping in your tracks, you freeze,
You hear the faintest roar -
And from that glow of haunting grey
Extends a single paw.

The moonlight plays and dances on,
A short and quiet bark,
Two marble eyes are caves that stare
Intently through the dark.

A snuffle - then - the smallest growl,
Cuts through the stretch of night,
All you see - a flourish of fur,
A flash of blinding light!

You run and run past empty stores,
Look back - and still run on -
But only eyes of distant gaze,
The rest is simply gone.

I Am Luperus
By Laurelinden

I have not two lone eyes; I see with six,
Red eyes, they find you even in the dark.
Yes, run, you wide-eyed Chia! Flee, panic;
And even so my eyes will find their mark.

I have not but one maw; I growl with three,
So leap, Chia, as I breathe down your back.
Three ways into this stomach, now empty,
But soon to be full with a Chia snack.

I hear your steps with all of my six ears,
Your whimper cries that echo in the gloom.
Yes, Chia! I, the nightmare of your fears,
Shall be the one by whom you meet your doom.

So run little Chia, but you will see
No Chia exists who is safe from me.
