OGRIN DAY SPECIAL

Official Order Of The Ogrin Organization
by Rinalle

Snowflakes adhere to window panes,
outside of the OO's HQ.
The Ogrin Organization's weather vane,
spins lazily underneath dew.

Ogrin from all over the land,
are gathering here to debate,
whether the species should take a stand,
and fight to change Ogrin Day's date.

The leader steps up to speak,
and clears his throat for the crowd.
He begins to explain, in a bored tone,
"It's time to start, quit being so loud!"

"The first order of business up to discuss,"
the Ogrin leader started to say,
"Is moving our Ogrin anniversary,
to a warmer, springtime day."

"It's nothing new," he continued, "to anyone,
that we love nature and the outdoors.
Yet on the day we're supposed to have fun,
We're all frozen, stiff to our cores!"

The audience murmured agreements, and then,
a Cloud Ogrin stood up to speak.
"We like where you're going, but where to begin?
Springtime's in just a few weeks!"

The leader smiled and pulled out a pair,
of Cybunny Ears with a Spring Bow.
"We'll take over Cybunny Day with flair,
and no one will ever have to know!"

He passed out all the 'bunny ear loot,
and they all peered at their reflections.
Now, they decided, the next change to dispute,
were the new Ogrin leader elections.

The Island Ogrin Plushie
by Fleur_411

Deep in the forests of Mystery Island
Lives an island Ogrin plush
And it's been said, if you can find him
Where he hides within the brush,

He’ll grant your heart’s desires
Anything at all you want
Best start looking in the mires
And his other favorite haunts.

He’s a sneaky little thing
And it’s said he’s clever, too
And if you want for him to bring
Great treasures straight to you

Best start looking right away
And be smart and shrewd, as well
In one place he won’t long stay
And where he’ll go, no one can tell.

Just maybe in late afternoon
You will hear him sing his song
For he’s been known to hum this tune
As he’s running along:

“Just look for me on island green
Trust me, my word is true,
If I happen to be seen
I’ll grant a wish for you!”

The Snoring Ogrin
by Dortho

You little Ogrin on the ground,
Why do you keep making that sound?
Could it possibly be that you're snoring?
Come on, buddy, you're not THAT boring!

Wake up and look outside,
Plenty of meadows to play and hide.
Bring your Petpet with you while you hike.
Just might surprise you with a Petpetpet you like!

Come on, Ogrin! Lift your head!
It's morning now, time to get out of bed!
Though it's cold, the sun is out,
Accept a gentle nudge before I shout!

Your adorable mane needs grooming,
A fantastic day is looming,
If you don't get up, I don't know why...
Such a lovely day with the sun in the sky!

If you'll get up, I'll be glad,
If you miss this day, you'll probably be sad,
It is YOUR day after all!
After today, maybe the snow will fall.

Happy Ogrin Day!

The Origin Of Ogrin
by Xphieldz

'Twas the month of Celebrating,
Year 7, to be percise.
Before the Day of Giving,
A new 'pet slid across the ice!

“It’s weird!” everyone cried,
As they shook their heads and laughed.
The insults only got meaner,
“Go away, Uni first draft!”

The lonely Neopet hung his head,
And slowly walked away.
But something in the snow caught his eye,
Egads... Santa’s sleigh!

He must have crashed his sleigh,
On his way to a night of giving.
“Maybe I should pull it,” he thought,
“They’ll surely be forgiving!”

He heaved and he pulled,
And he slowly made his way.
“To houses of Neopians everywhere,
I will pull this sleigh!”

He delivered presents all around,
And surely did not fail.
For when he returned to town,
Santa had told his tale!

“Oh dearest 'pet,
We’re sorry for how we’ve been!
We’ll name you how our faces are,
And so you are Ogrin!”

Ogrin Odor
by Jjquil

Pew! What is that awful stench,
That permeating smell?
Did someone leave out dirty socks?
Who do they want to repel?

Ugh, that odor is so strong
It really is offensive!
Worse than skunk, or dung, for sure
The range is so extensive.

Oh my, is that an Ogrin?
Chartreuse fur and eyes
I've never seen one like that --
Wahh, the stink is on the rise!

Ew, it smells like rotting swamp
Fetid, reeking pungence!
Whoever threw the stink bomb
Better hope it will dispense.

What's that you say? Swamp gas?
I didn't know it existed
But now I'll never forget the smell
Of the Ogrin it enlisted.

Excuse me, won't you? I must go
And shower, thoroughly,
For swamp gas clings to everything
A stench that's most unholy!

Ogrin Survivor
by Tremble

A voyage we were on,
To discover new land.
A group of Ogrin,
Set off hand in hand.

We left on a boat,
That was shaped like a dome.
Letters we wrote
To those back at home.

Nine days, nine nights,
Time flew away.
The stars shone like lights
That showed us the way.

But to our dismay,
We could not see land!
On the blue ocean, astray...
Tired we became, barely able to stand.

And during the night,
A storm brewed up high.
Our ship put up a fight,
But it lost in the try.

Shipwrecked we were!
Oh, how terrifying it was,
We thought we were done for,
But a miracle was shown!

With a shining ray of light
The faeries did come,
They lifted us to a great height,
And took us safely back home.

How grateful we are,
That Neopia has magnificent faeries.
Thank you, Fyora!
We love you more than berries.

Ogrin Kenning
by Puufuu

Book readers,
Plant tenders,
Fierce chompers,
Keen scholars.

Quiet speakers,
Meek greeters,
Chatty creatures,
Loyal keepers.

Curious seekers,
Wise thinkers,
Striped features,
What are we?

Loving An Ogrin
by Hiasaki

Today we will be studying a very shy 'pet
that is one of the smartest of them all.
I'm here to make sure that all of you get
that the Ogrin's heart is not small.

They are very curious and easy to like,
and are very sweet and good, to boot.
They would even enjoy taking a hike
because they love to see nature's fruits.

However, if you own one, be sure to know
that they may be slightly quiet.
But when they do talk, laughter will grow
because they can be quite a riot!

Because of how very intelligent they are,
remember to keep their minds busy.
Keeping them groomed is also smart,
otherwise their manes will get frizzy.

So to all of you on this lovely day,
perhaps you should go adopt a new friend.
Ogrin always have their special way
of staying with you til the end.
