You are on Page 41
The Adoption Center
You play with your pet each night and day
You love him, you care for him, he's there to stay
Then, one day, you find out you're broke
You think to yourself, "This must be a joke."
There's not enough neopoints to care for your pet
No money to feed it or play with it
or take it to the vet
Softly you weep about ready to cry
You know without money it will starve,
and not survive
You consider your options and consider them well
What should you do for your neopet pal
You look in your wallet again and again
But still find little neopoints in the end
Finally, you decide what you must do
Abandon it at the Adoption Center zoo
You say softly to your neopet friend
"I love you. I'll miss you.
Our closeness will soon end."
Your adorable neopet looks sadly into your face
And morbidly says, "I don't like this place."
You say it's over, it's done, it's through
You don't have enough money
to support him and you too.
He cries and pleads and says,
"Don't send me this way!"
"I must," you say.
You pick up your pet and soon walk away.
You get to the agency and say with a smile
"I promise I'll visit you once in a while."
Setting your neopet on the counter,
you start to leave
But your friend, he cries,
he starts to plead
You say no, you just can't keep him
The adoption lady says to say goodbye to him
Suddenly, without a thought,
flinging your arms around your pet
You say, "I'll never leave you,
I was just upset."
You pick up your pet and lovingly say,
"I'll never, never forget such a day."
You think that night and finally decide
What made you turn back
were those sad, loving eyes.
"We Are A River..."
We are a river,
Flowing, racing, and never stopping.
Everlasting, never dying,
Joined together, and honest, not spying!
That's how I feel when
My neopets and I read
Under the low branches of the coconut tree.
We share our stories, beautiful poems,
Kougra glories, then, when we get sleepy,
My neopets rest on me,
And we fall into the palms of a dream.
We dream of the Light Faerie up near the sun,
We think about adventures,
Things that could be good or bad...
There is a dream, one dream for everyone,
If you find your dream, you won't be anymore sad,
You'll find yourself, deep in your heart...
And you'll know that you and your neopets
Will never, ever part!
Walking along the sandy beaches
With the moon oh so bright
The wind is blowing softly
And there's no one else in sight
Wait! I take that back
The water faerie goes whizzing by
Her hair a lovely shade of blonde
Bright blue eyes and turquoise fins
Oh, what a wonderful sight is she
She's gone now, which is unfortunate
She was such lovely company
The moon is melting away behind the trees
What a shame, what a shame
No one's here to accompany me!
It's ever so lonely, and chilly too
The breeze is getting not to good
And I'm without a coat
Yay! Here comes my Kau
In a coat of red
With her comes my Kacheek
And my Aisha along with my Korbat
All together with a new attitude about the weather
We sat on the grainy sand by the sea
The Water Faerie all of a sudden
whizzed by once more
Everyone was filled with glee
The sky is the blue quietness
where clouds crowd in infinite space,
an aerial veil spread above our heads.
The sky is a ballet of birds and kites,
the hue of rainbows through trees,
this lonely, tireless moon
following endless paths
before travellers' eyes.
And the sky is the safe for prayers,
the sound of the rain,
the fear of thunder and lightning,
the rumor of planes
arriving, fading away.
The sky is you smiling,
sitting on the porch
with your arms on your knees,
staring at its fiery colors,
its darkness with white stars,
and the sky is you with me.
