GNORBU DAY SPECIAL

Wise Old Gnorbu
By Panril

Neopia's moon aglow, awake,
Revealed by crew of Cyodrake.
Wise old Gnorbu sees that sphere,
Tracks another lunar year.

Whether waning, gibbous, full,
This Gnorbu resists not the pull,
The mystique of that one Kreludor:
Its movement he cannot ignore.

Charts mapped out with careful strokes
Reveal the globes to common folk;
Shows them Hunting and Relaxing
As the orbs are growing, waxing.

Shrewd Neopet acts maintainer
To Shenkuu's very lunar calendar.
Dispensing puzzles from a temple towering --
Flukes and guesses, overpowering.

Precise and clever, yet good-natured,
A prize of some sort, you're assured:
Mint rolls, lotus leaves, and combs,
Or apples and moon paving stones.

The Unpopular Gnorbu
By Littledragonkid

Of all the lonely, least popular pets,
One happens to stand out among the rest.
We do not know why, for he's a cute rendition,
And he is not even limited edition!

Long-necked and wool-covered, he has his own day
Dedicated to shearing, sweater-making, and play.
So what if he drools, for he's always smiling,
And it's an expression that we find quite beguiling!

The Gnorbu, we call him, good-natured and kind,
Clumsy but darling and fun-loving we find!
His disposition should make him popular, and yet...
The Gnorbu is still the least popular pet.

So now I implore you to search into your heart,
To think of which pet you'll adopt
the next time you start,
And perhaps you'll remember before
you select, say, a Kau,
The Gnorbu who's ready to love you right now.

Gnorbu Mountain Climber
By Anjie

Beware the will of tempest's whim,
The wind that twists and bites.
Hooves must form a steady grip,
To reach the farthest heights.
Butterflies within his soul,
So trembling, won't behave.
The thought of treading the highest peak,
Might shake this Gnorbu brave.

Mane is gripped by cunning gust
And tugged by wicked breeze.
It seems to sing a taunting song,
To taunt and darkly tease.
Tiny hooves of onyx gleam,
Seek every hold with care.
The pinnacle seems out of reach,
Small Gnorbu doth despair!

Oh, regret! Why did he climb,
His thoughts shall tumble 'round.
Surely it's a safer thing,
With hooves on solid ground.
Tiny ears are folded back,
Avoiding pelting snow.
Don't look down, oh Gnorbu friend,
It's distant, far below!

Pebbles drop beneath his hooves,
Upon this peak remote.
Chill of alabaster ice,
Kept out by thickest coat.
Here at last the clouds do part,
The Gnorbu's dream complete.
Now to climb back down again,
May be the bigger feat!

Lady Shenkuu Warrior
By Soaringeagle25

Bedecked peacocks in clouds of perfume,
Lacy skirts, and tragic sighs,
Everyone should be this way, or so they assume,
With glitters of jewellery like the night sky,
Long eyelashes and painted faces,
Immaculate manners and good graces,
Such is the normal Neopian princess.

But high atop a Shenkuu mountain
Climbs the princess of different core,
Through heat or snow pouring like fountains.
The tame life of a princess she abhors.
No peak, no crevice or precipice
Does she find lesser than the life of princess
In her quest to be a Shenkuu Warrior.

A grappling hook her only gear,
O heart of bold, courageous quest!
While the mountain towers austere,
She has the goal of conquest.
Swinging gracefully from one foothold to the next,
In a manner that has great climbers perplexed,
But she is a princess of different being.

The sky is the limit for this Gnorbu,
Through paths wrought with danger and peril,
She reaches the clouds with her dreams true.
A legend worth singing, in lyric or carol,
To be known as the Lady Warrior, the best.
Though the greatest mountains test,
She will reach the top, no question.

A Hairless Surprise
By Soyogapooglecrazi100

The sun beams brightly through an arch,
The clouds are fluffy as you gaze at their march,
With a yawn and stretch you contemplate,
What adventures would await you today.

Maybe a quest or two from the faeries on high,
Or win yourself some apple pie,
What about a trip to the Haunted Woods?
But I'd be running if I were you.

You saunter downstairs with the biggest grin,
Unaware of the shock of your kin,
"Where is my dear Gnorbu today?"
"Why hasn't he come out to play?"

As if on cue a creature came bare,
You nearly fainted and gave quite a stare,
Your pet, your Gnorbu, it was... hideous,
But of one thing you were pretty oblivious.

You gasp for breath at that sight in front,
It was plain as anything and not a stunt,
Your beloved Gnorbu is sheared top to bottom,
"Oh, what happened? My sweet little blossom!"

You panic and scream, pondering what to do,
For your little pet is balder than you!
But then you glanced at the calendar, "No way! Today is Gnorbu Shearing Day!"
