NIMMO DAY SPECIAL

It's Nimmo Day
By Iridaceous

In local ponds and riverbeds
Thrilled Nimmos raise their heads.
'Tis a morning to remember --
Specially for a particular Neopet member!

Neopians, feel the cheer!
It's a special day and it's finally here!
Make it jolly, spread the joy,
More cake for every girl and boy!
Ongoing feasts to enjoy.

Did I hear you say:
Aye, it's Nimmo Day?
You're correct! Hip hip hooray!

Nimmo Day Heroes
By Indulgences

The Nimmo's high in popularity
According to the Neopets site.
Three million have been made so far.
They're friendly things, they do delight!

They're featured in the TCG
Aligned with Water pure and true.
They look like frogs. They're so much more!
They're Neopets of matchless hue!

They're brave and thoughtful, wise and bold.
They're known for acts of skill and grace.
There's Ryshu who is famous for
His martial arts and scowling face.

There's Sidney who sells scratchcards in
The melancholy Haunted Woods.
There's Orrin of Exotic Foods
Whose Shenkuu wares are savory goods.

There's Lumi who fights hordes and hordes
Of baby Usuls in a game
Called
Usul Suspects, known to all.
She really does deserve her fame!

So go and train your Nimmo now!
Remember its rich history!
The Nimmo is a warrior
And on this day you train for free!

A Nimmo You Will Find
By Flosset

Through the thicket, dense and green,
Through overgrown moss where the sun is hiding,
A glittering cyan pool, a tree-top reflecting sheen,
On a leafy lilypad she relaxes, her patience residing.

The wind blows gently through the afternoon air,
Where shades of water lilies dip into the blue,
Koi perched on rocks without even a care,
Yet there she still sits, as if this all new.

A Nimmo she is, free-spirited and kind,
Full of compassion and tranquillity too,
If you search the forest's ponds,
It is her you will find,
Though of her identity I haven't a clue.

Ask her for the name by which she goes,
And she will just smile and say,
"Wind, water, and nature itself, I suppose,"
And she'll close her eyes, appreciating the day.

On Nimmo Pond
By Soaringeagle25

Amber beams of the dying sun
Cast the golden glow of a honeyed lemon
Playing on the ripples of aqua blue --
A peaceful picturesque dusky view.

Glowing lanterns of fireflies play,
Marking the ending of another day,
Lily pads emerald, crowned with a flower,
Drift idle in anticipation of the hour.

Here the Nimmos enter Nimmo Pond,
Rustle of leaves and reed frond,
To chorus the nightly melodious song
From the setting sun and all night long.

Together they sing each perfect note
As they paddle along on lily pad boats.
The old tell stories to young ears
'Til the first dawning rays of the sun appear.

The first small rays of the sleepy sun peek,
The Nimmos leap, shelter they seek,
Sleep out the day, wait for the night,
Nimmo Pond only celebrates when the time is right!

Sidney the Nimmo
By Doopingla

A hiss and an evil laugh
Echo around the spooky place.
As you walk along the dirty path,
With a creepy figure you come face to face.

His eyes, they glow like the moon,
His skin is blue as an icy mountain.
He smiles and laughs again like a goon,
In the dark his image ripples like a fountain.

A hiss and a wheeze,
And he pulls from his coat a card.
"Take a ssscratchcard, if you please,"
He gives you a salesman look, warm but hard.

He is Sidney the Nimmo of the Scratchcard stall,
You won't get a moment's peace from him.
He'll find you hiding and give you a call,
Until you buy a scratchcard,
The looks of things are grim.

Finally you give in with a sigh,
And offer up your Neopoints to the pet.
He snatches them up and
Throws the scratchcard high,
"Thank you, I'm glad we met."

You catch the scratchcard from the air,
And scratch a few off.
Sidney grabs it and gives it a hard stare,
Then gives another loud cough.

"We have a winner, on Nimmo Day in fact!"
He cries, hopping up into the sky.
He hands you a bag so heavy
Your arms can barely stay intact,
Then waves you away cheering
And calling a loud "Goodbye!"

On Nimmo Day, no less,
The jackpot is yours to keep and spend!
It must be luck at its very best,
Such riches your back begins to bend!

Sidney cackles knowingly,
His gift had been spread, a gift worth a lot.
Could it really, truly be?
He'd meant for that card to be a jackpot?
