ZAFARA DAY SPECIAL

To the Helpful Zafara Digger
by Flufflepuff

Do you get lonesome, little one,
O traveler of planes
And universes? Pray tell, does such
Traversing cause you pain?
I cannot tell based on the look
Of rapt discovery
You sport each minute, day, and year.
Oh, what’s it like to see
The cosmos, creatures and events
Past th’ north, east, south, and west?
It must be quite adventurous.
E’en so, you cannot rest
Despite your stillness. What a shame
And yet, a privilege.
The sights alone you cannot share,
You’re stuck upon the edge
Of pictures. No one did expect
Your fate to be this way.
It’s quite a skill that you have, though:
You’ve traveled to today.
You've excavated much, young one,
And aim to search for more.
With your new skill, you do just that
And freeze forevermore.

Zafara Diggers
by Kaibeau

Deep in the frozen desert,
Beyond Qasala's walls,
Past Sakhmet's sunny pleasures
and vast palatial halls

A lonesome wind is blowing
Over caves of ice and sand
Where dwell the living remnants
Of a proud and ancient clan.

The Zafara tribe is digging,
Just as they've always dug.
Their weary claws are churning
To depths not spoken of.

Above, the stars are burning.
Above, the air is sweet,
And though you'd wait with patient heart
You may never chance to meet

The Zafara of the frozen desert
Deep beneath the frost,
Digging toward an unknown treasure
Digging -- at what cost?

The Novel Zafara Tourist
by Sugarypixiestix2

He travelled to the Lost Desert
with his camera and tropic shirt,
And his floppy straw hat in hand,
which helped combat all the sand.

A guide offered him a free tour
that came with a desert brochure.
It was informative and exciting,
the Zafara found it so inviting.

His camera captured many stories
as colourful as Morning Glories.
There were lots of sights to see,
all of them filled him with glee.

Hours passed by him really fast;
this is what he hoped to outlast
in order to extend his adventure,
since it was quite the quencher.

When the tour finally had to end
bitter sweetness became a blend,
because he had memories to hold
that were just ready to be told.

Sarah The Bright
by Meowclopspurrcat

Ever since her first day of class,
Sarah knew what she wanted to amass:
Knowledge of everything, big and small;
She hoped that she could learn it all.

The Zafara's dreams were pure and bright:
Glowing embers of wisdom filled the night.
She stayed up late in her little nook,
Absorbing knowledge book by book.

She studied hard and studied well,
Absorbing every sight, sound, and smell
That she could;
For she swore that she would, someday,
Become the girl whom everyone would say

Was the brightest and most clever of all,
The Zafara everyone would call.
When they had a question, problem, or quiz,
The Neopets knew to take it to this whiz.

So, Sarah studied hard and traveled far and well,
Absorbing cultures from Kreludor to Meridell.
Always hungry for her next lesson,
Whether it was taught in the fields
Or at the delicatessen.

She valued all knowledge, whatever it concerned,
So that she could help all other Neopets learn.
So, absorb all the lessons you learn everywhere
And, like Sarah, you will be able to share!

Zafara Double Agent!
by Tsarevna

Something secret in the air,
She is tall and very fair,
Her mysterious demise:
Is it all beneath the dark disguise?

Hard to say for double agent,
The Zafara is reagent.
To the Meridell arrangement,
That let to their estrangement.

Wars are gone and have been fought,
The outcomes are taught,
Not to trust a sneaky spy,
For they always leave you dry.

With the intent of the action,
The result of every faction,
Plus the vanishing remain,
There wasn’t much to gain.

Now, the double agent is no more,
Her famous image is, therefore,
Avatar to display and show
To the many it has grown.
The Zafara Double Agent!

Edna's Manifesto
by Neopets9738368

Come one and come all,
My cauldron is calling.
"What wonderous spells can we make?"
I am constantly pondering.

It's all I ever think about,
The perfect spell to make me young,
Take a risk and help me out,
We're making magic and having fun!

"Magic Egg of Techo Charming,"
This spell will certainly be a hit.
Supermodel-dom here I come!
Don't worry, I'm mostly harmless.

Sometimes I get it right,
Sometimes I get it wrong,
My favorite spell is brewing now --
Be patient, it won't be long.

If you bring me all the ingredients I ask,
You can try for my cackling avatar.
It's a mystery combination of goodies,
I haven't given up the secret thus far.

Us Zafaras are rather lucky,
That is certainly a fact.
If you're visiting my beloved tower,
Bring sugar doughnuts, my favorite snack.

For now, I'm off to work,
Gathering ingredients with my shadow.
The best part of the day yet to come,
Watching that bubbling green spell glow.

Wraith Zafara
by Guddi6

Silence cloaks the forest deep
And soaks into the cold,
The night is dark, the wind is sharp,
And firm is winter’s hold.
Frost settles on spindly branches
And basks in light of moon,
The mud paths are fleeced with snow,
The woods are thus cocooned.

Fearsome though she might appear,
On snowy nights she floats,
Content amid the chessboard wood,
In winter lands, she’s home.
Swift, the spiky tail doth lash,
Enshrined in haunting glow;
Colours stark against the white
Meandering, she goes.

A monster built of ancient wrath,
The whispers will inform
Jagged edges and rough in shape
Fluorescent eyes, forlorn.
Limbs moulded into curling claws
That ebb with amethyst glow,
Tail doth fling in rapid pace
As through the snow she flows.

They say her rage is silent.
That she weeps for long lost days,
They say her pleasures are fleeting --
For her, pain is surely plain.
But rarely do they see her
To question her losses past
They see her glow, her wandering soul,
Only in winter’s heart.

To The Helpful One
by Puddydog

Where in Neopia does it snow?
You can bet that Sarah'd know.
Number injured when Faerieland fell?
You can bet that Sarah'd tell.
Chia Day... oh, what's its date?
You can bet that Sarah'd state.

Zafara of a million facts,
Books surround in teetering stacks,
In her studies, never lax,
It's Sarah who both thinks and acts.

So, if you're stuck you should enlist
the help of Sarah, she'll assist,

Not just today, but the other three sixty-four --
It is you, dear Sarah, we adore.

The Stew
by Tsuki_the_noodle

She waits in her tower,
She cackles with glee,
"Oh, did you come to help little old me?"

Her name is Edna, she's the Zafara witch
Who expects me to finish quests without a hitch.

"I need these items and make it fast!"
She threatens me from behind jars of glass
Filled with things that would scare ya --
Eyes of Mortog, Intestines and Marinara!

"If you do what I'm asking you to,
I promise you won't be part of my stew!"
She cackles and stirs, her cauldron rattles.
"Go on now, fetch! Skedaddle!"

She's up in her tower,
But I'm not sure what to do.
Do I ignore her and become her stew?

Do witches even keep their word?
Stew, really? Stew? Absurd.

I think I'll go visit Kayla instead --
At least she doesn't have hordes of undead!
I turn to run, knowing what I'll do
When Edna shouts, "IT'S THE STEW FOR YOU!"

I awake in my bed, it was all a dream.
Note to self -- witches are mean!

Zafara Agent Outfit
by Indulgences

I had a Christmas Zafara
Whose hue I dearly loved.
She was my shining, ivory belle,
My alabaster dove.

Her halo sparkled bright with gold.
Her wings were large and white.
They shimmered in the morning sun.
They twinkled through the night.

But she resented all the ways
In which I worshipped her.
She quite reviled her saintly look;
My love for her, deterred.

Unwilling to re-paint her looks,
I made a compromise.
I'd buy her brand new clothes and then
Her looks I'd customize!

We browsed some sundry clothing shops
And settled on a look.
The Agent outfit stunned us both.
Our zeal could not be shook!

The Agent hood was furtive, sly.
It shrouded my 'pet's face.
My Zafara was cloaked in shade,
Yet also touched with grace.

Two cabochons of amethyst
Graced both of my 'pet's ears.
So dark and oddly glistening,
Their beauty had no peer.

A headband made of purple silk
Was woven with fine gold.
This hood was such a stunning sight,
So gorgeous to behold.

The Agent robe was also sewn
From finest purple silk.
A golden belt encircled it --
So gleaming, bright, and gilt.

And finally, the Agent gloves
Were pulled on by my 'pet.
The outfit was completed now!
We both had no regrets!

Oh, how majestic my dear 'pet
Did look in her new clothes!
I now disliked her Christmas looks,
Which she already loathed!

For now, I keep the clothes on her.
I plan to paint her soon.
I think a Shadow Paint Brush hue
Would make her smile and swoon!

The shadow hue would suit her clothes.
She'd look mysterious.
I'd do most nearly anything
To fill my 'pet with bliss!

I'm glad my lovely Zafara
Decided to complain.
We both have learned that clothes are neat
And something to attain!
