The Wheel of Monotony

The Wheel of Monotony begins to spin.
We gaze in awe at the items we could win.
After a while my pets get bored.
We go and see what else we can afford.

The Wheel of Excitement is a pain.
Drat! It's that question mark again.
We check on the wheel. Are we winning?
No we're not, and the wheel's still spinning!

Go on the chat boards, say hi to my friends.
The wheel's still spinning. It never ends!
I feed the Esophagor to keep him sweet,
Then buy my pets each something to eat.

How is the wheel? Has it stopped?
We go back to check but the wheel has not!
Round and round it goes, never ending.
I still have some Neopoints I could be spending.

The wheel zooms in -- we're getting near!
That tedious clicking is music to my ears.
It's slowing, it's slowing... oh no, it's still going!
It's getting quite late and a gale is blowing.

The wheel gradually grinds to a stop.
I'm feeling so excited I think I might pop.
Oh, here it is -- what awful luck!
My pet's gone and banged her head on a rock.

One day I was walking along the Plateau
When I noticed a crowd, so I decided to go.
A yawning Quiggle stood; a wheel behind him.
And I don't know why, but I decided to spin.

I stared at the wheel, the dirt-crusted piece,
Minutes had passed, and it still did not cease.
I stared at the line that had started to form,
And after 10 minutes, away I did storm.

I headed to Faerieland and got myself a quest,
I did it in minutes and, well, did my best.
And then as I wondered
If the wheel had stopped yet,
I decided that I would go play with my pet.

I played Mootix Drop and I got a high score,
I restocked in just about every store,
I rebuilt Maraqua to everyone's glee,
And I beat Plushie Tycoon --
Not one time, but three.

I visited Skarl in his huge royal halls,
And narrowly avoided a fungus ball.
I bet on some Turdles and Poogles, a hefty sum.
I won all my NP back, and then some!

I finally said, "It stopped spinning, I'll bet."
And I walked to Tyrannia
Without breaking a sweat.
And as I went to the wheel, I groaned as it spun,
The Wheel of Monotony still wasn't done.

When will this ceaseless spinning stop?
The endless drone goes on and on
I fear that our of boredom
I will surely drop

Of course I know the prize can be
Worthwhile for the wait
But it still can be trying as the wheel
Is boring all the same

Why do I even come here
On this pretty, sunny day
When I could be out playing
In Spring's colourful array

Even better I could laugh
And taunt and poke and tease
As within the walls of the Battledome
Punchbag Bob falls before my knees

I could be in the chat room
Talking with my friends
Instead I wait in boredom
Until this spinning ends

Even though I know the price
That I will surely pay
I will return every day
And while the wheel spins, I will stay

Don't get frustrated as you play
Don't try to cheat, it's only once a day!
If you're lucky you'll win an awesome prize
If you're not you'll hear the beastly cries!
Everyone is talking about what they won
Some people waited hours;
Some have just begun!

How long will it take? Everyone is asking!
They sit and play games as the time is a-passing.
You never know just what you'll get.
It's all completely random, no need to fret!
So set your wheel aside and go about your day,
Come back in awhile
And see what the wheel will say.
