TECHO DAY SPECIAL
The Techo Master
He is the greatest in the land,
His powers are well known,
He is never caught by surprise,
Not even in his home.
You may think that you can fight,
The one of whom I speak,
But it is a foolish endeavor,
And reeks of your defeat.
He is the greatest of them all,
With scales of emerald,
And eyes that are so fearsome,
They make you whimper like a child.
Yes he is the greatest, there is no doubt,
And if you want some proof,
Go and take him on yourself,
It was nice knowing you.
So do not try to beat him,
There is not a one who's faster,
And honor now the wisdom-filled,
The magnanimous Techo Master!
Hey little hatchling,
Fold up your tail and sit a while,
And listen to my rhyme
Of battling in the Techo style.
There's Tekel in his fearsome furs,
Who fought the Monoceraptor dire,
Beat it up with all your help
plus shaman power and ancient fire.
Then there's Tekkitu - behind his mask,
He's a bit of a mystery lizard.
You'd better beware (in the Battledome)
of this strange feather-wearing wizard.
The Techo Master, all bearded and old,
Is held in respectful awe,
He takes your 'stones and trains you up,
With his knowledge of long-lost lore.
There are more to speak of both brave and bold,
Like Velm from the Neoquest world of old,
And more too, who are slightly nefarious
Like Kelland the Thief and others various.
Remember hatchling, Techo child,
You are scaled and wily, slick and wild,
Master your magic, be canny and fast,
To honour the memory of Techos past.
Wisdom of the Mountain
The mist rose gently over the mountain,
The Techo climbed up high to reach the school.
He was at the top and saw the fountain,
Guiding to the entrance like a new jewel.
He walked in slowly and sat down fast,
Closing his eyes shut; not daring to look.
He hoped his master did not know he was last,
Waiting for the wisdom; straight from a book.
The Master spoke, "There's no lesson today,"
The Techo sat still, filling up with guilt.
He heard the student's voices fade away,
Staring up he saw the Master's eyes wilt...
"I'm sorry I'm late." Then the Master replied,
"You have learnt respect, luck is on your side..."
Keeper of the Buzzer Game
Within the shroud of forest green,
A sight bizarre is often seen.
A Techo dwells here all alone,
Within the trees so overgrown.
A master of a puzzling game,
The "Buzzer Techo" of such fame.
Soft island sunlight keeps him warm,
It dapples over reptile form.
Ivory, the patterns wind,
With sandy tones they have entwined.
Those vibrant gazes drift off to space,
A knowing smirk curves on his face.
In straggling lines the tourists come,
And to temptation, do succumb.
At softest glance the game seems fine,
A concept simple in design.
The thoughts of winning fills their dreams,
A feat much harder than it seems.
Most play the game, but many lose,
A challenge meant to just confuse.
The Techo stands and watches there,
The cash is his, what does he care?
A tricky feat, of whispered fame,
So sly, the Techo of this game.
The Darigan Techo
Thunder rolls deep in the sky,
A discontented growling,
You huddle low into your bed,
Afraid of what is prowling.
You jump as lightning flashes by,
You whimper in distress,
A shadow grows along your wall,
This night, you shall get no rest!
With a scream you leap right out,
And leave your skin behind,
And then you sigh -- it's just a toy,
And you dismiss it from your mind.
But are you really all that safe?
What monsters lurk beneath?
Perhaps a haunted Quiggle toy,
Or a mutated Skeith.
You grab your pillow and squeeze it tight,
The thunder starts to echo,
And then you see through your window,
A giant Darigan Techo!
You cannot move, you cannot scream,
It's so frightful and severe,
It gives you a wild, horrific grin,
And advances with a leer.
You squeak in fright and fall apart,
The monster is coming slow,
And then there is a giant "Thunk!"
As he walks into your window!
The Techo looks quite mortified,
He slinks into the night,
For though they look quite frightening,
Darigan Techos usually aren't very bright.
